FAVOURITE TRAILS On foot or on wheels, the Lac La Biche Region is yours to explore.
Lakefront Walking Path: A paved path follows the south shore of Lac La Biche Lake. Park at McArthur Park and head west to see the statue of David Thompson. A few blocks away on the east side of the hamlet, another path follows Lakeland Drive, leading all the way to Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park. Boardwalk Trail at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park (pictured above): Begin with a boardwalk and end with a beach, climbing and winding through a centuries-old forest. A viewing platform for observing the nearby Pelican Islands is located near the trailhead. Long Point Trail at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park: Hike to the western tip of the park’s main island, admiring panoramic lake views throughout the two-kilometre walk. ATV and Snowmobile Trails in Lakeland Provincial Park & Provincial Recreation Area: The protected primeval wilderness east of Lac La Biche has 140 kilometres’ worth of trails suitable for off-road vehicles. There are four ATV staging areas, giving adventurous riders access to remote backcountry camping and day-use sites. Visit albertaparks.ca for more information.
