PERSONALIZE THE PARTY Have your guests write down a few of their favorite songs on their rsvp cards to help compile the music list for the reception. If you are going to use place cards, write a personal note on them, so when Aunt Joan picks up her place card, she will get to read a loving tribute from you.

CHILD’S PLAY For small children in your wedding party, tie a decorative helium balloon on a string around their wrist; it will help guide them as they “follow it” down the aisle. Also, provide goody bags for the kids in attendance (crayons and coloring book/puzzle books, games, etc.).
FABRIC & FLOWERS Use parts of your mother’s or grandmother’s weddings: See if you can obtain a piece of lace or fabric from their dress to incorporate into your veil, garter, or bouquet. For flowers, give your florist a photo of the bouquets they carried to replicate, and you’ve got something old AND something new … priceless!
