The project carried out in the Chualluma neighborhood, west of the city of La Paz, a neighborhood that used to be of around 160 adobe and brick houses with small windows, little by little the somber and desolate place was turning into the most colorful place in the city, colorful from the red cable car that connects the cities of La Paz and El Alto, drawing attention of every passenger. The project was developed by 4 artists and more than 50 bricklayers, having won a contest called “My neighborhood, my home”, this obtaining the resources to improve the appearance of their area and thus generating their own identity at the national level. Before the pandemic, the neighborhood was constantly visited by tourists, who to date no longer appear in the place for the moment, but the people of the neighborhood are anxiously waiting to see their streets with visitors again.

he initiative is part of a 4.5 million dollar mural project called “Mi Qhatu” which means market in the Aymara language.
