We are extremely happy to see that this is already a reality in the day-to-day routines of our clubs.
All Clubs are open and available to help their communities and supporters. There was not a single Club last season that was not involved in a fundraising or charity campaign. Moreover, we all know and have felt the implications of a conflict in Europe when we were just recovering from two years of a pandemic that affected our industry, our economy, our optimism and our well-being.
In the 2022-23 season, we will continue to focus on our five main principles that sustain the existence of the Fundação do Futebol, which, it should be noted, is only entering its fourthanniversary: Social Inclusion, Environmental Sustainability, Great Humanitarian Causes, Protection of Values and Science and Technology at the Service of Football.
With Professional Football already well aware of its role in Society and the enormous impact it has on it, it is time to focus on the creation of more Foundations, so that each Club has its own Foundation, with particular objectives that match each reality, using its notoriety to achieve greater success, both legally and statutorily legitimized.
And for the clubs that are still unable to follow suit, the Fundação will enter the field with its autonomous Social Responsibility, providing guidelines for good practices. Fundação do Futebol also wants to play as a team, consolidating partnerships with such important institutions as Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, SIC Esperança, the Portuguese Red Cross and many others with extensive know-how to which we want to add Football.
Environmental concerns, which require action and good example, are also a priority for the Fundação do Futebol, which has an educational role in professional football that can increase energy and water savings and reuse materials.
Other concerns remain on the agenda: scholarships for students in need, the post-career careers of the many who dedicate their lives to football, intensifying senior citizens’ activity and thus protecting their health...
This Game is not over! There are no starting players or substitutes, only committed teams and always called up! Football is so necessary!
