THE BRIEF
BACKGROUND
RESEARCH
Submit a piece of typography to the Goodtype call for submissions.
This was a quick brief, which consisted of three days. Goodtype was calling for submissions for their first printed publication celebrating typogrpahy. This was a fun brief exploring different typography.

INITIAL SKETCHES The brief was really open to interpretation. A list was formed of a selection of words, which either looked nice aesthetically, or could be emphasised through a characteristic of their meaning or context. From this three favourites were chosen: -Cassette Tapes -Sizzle -Dollop

DEVELOPMENT Cassette tapes was the favourite of the three sketch developments. To push the design further, it was scanned into Illustrator, expanded and send to the laser cutter. This additional process allowed further developments experimenting with various layers and coloured paper.

FINAL OUTCOME The final design is an A3 cut out of maroon paper, which has been mounted on to a bright yellow paper. The outcome was really strong and resembled a Rob Ryan piece.
