BEES IN THE D

Bees in the D honey is harvested by hand in small batches from each of their 61 apiaries across the state of Michigan. They do not mix the honey harvested, so each jar will be unique in color and flavor. It is 100% pure, unadulterated, raw honey.

Honey is one of the few foods that, when stored properly, is known to have an eternal shelf life. Edible honey has even been found in several-thousand-year-old Egyptian tombs! So, why do crystals form in honey? Pure, raw, unprocessed honey has a natural tendency to crystallize over time & when stored in lower temperatures. Luckily, these crystals actually preserve the flavor & quality of your honey. Don’t like the crystals? No problem! Heat a pot of water to just before boiling, remove from heat, & place the jar in water until crystals dissipate. Be sure to never microwave or boil your honey, as high heat will destroy many of the beneficial enzymes & vitamins honey provides. When you buy direct from beesinthed.com, you can feel good knowing that you are supporting a Detroit nonprofit focused on sustainable and healthy beekeeping practices. We provide hives to local communities, schools, and businesses to help with pollination of urban farms and community gardens, increasing food yields of up to 70%, therefore helping feed communities fresh, local produce in otherwise urban food deserts.
