T

he Christmas fun Show at Golden Cross attracted a great turn-out and was indeed aptly named as there were lots of happy smiley faces. The fancy Dress class attracted in excess of 20 entries, with some spectacular costumes for both riders and ponies. There was so much to look at and take in and we could only marvel at the imagination of those making the costumes, and the time they must have taken to produce. all the classes had big entries and there was stiff competition to win a rosette. Worthy of particular mention are bramble ridden by rosie Holden, this was bramble’s first show and she was awarded a third in the best mare Class much to rosie’s and her mother, Tracey’s delight. Isobel Turner also had a great show, winning the Lead rein best rider on the lovely Welsh Section a pony, Maddie (who is owned by Horam Manor riding School). Crystal Lloyd and her mare Spillie, make a wonderful combination and they are one to keep an eye on for the future. Oliver barker had a great first jumping class on his Shetland, billy Wizz. The pair finished outside the rosettes, but Oliver’s big smile showed he had a lot of fun taking part. The cute factor goes to 10-month-old alfie Kay, who was led by his mother, Jolene, on the adorable Tinkerbell in the fancy Dress class.
