Equi-Fun Club Showing Show O
Crockstead Equestrian Centre, East Sussex • Sunday 4th February 2018 Words by Becca Tarrant and pictures by PDG Photography
n Sunday 4th February the EquiFun Club ran their first unaffiliated Fun Showing Show at Crockstead Equestrian Centre. Classes ran throughout the day in the lovely indoor school, with a mix of fun, in-hand and ridden classes, all were qualifiers for the Sunshine Tour Championships and were well attended. The fun ring started the morning off with the Prettiest Mare and Handsomest Gelding classes, which were won by Tai Davis and his pony, Misty, and Rebecca Baldy with Anderwood Red Fox. Rebecca also went on to win the Fun Championship. The classes in the In-Hand ring were also
very popular, with some super horses and ponies coming forward, which made judging very difficult. The Mountain and Moorland fielded the largest number of entrants, with the honours going to club member, Edwina Deighton and her Connemara, Dior Marching On. Elizabeth Howes’ stunning mare, Picketts Prada, won the Coloured class and then went on to win the In-Hand Championship, she also won the Ridden Coloured class later on in the day. The Ridden ring ran in the afternoon and was the busiest ring of the day, particularly the Cob and Coloured classes. The Cob class was won by Emily Wright and her amazing
horse, Teddy Edwards. Emily also took the Ridden Championship title and was so happy with her boy. The ever-popular Riding Club class was spilt into horse and pony sections, with Anne Allison and her gorgeous horse, The Secret winning the horse section, and club member, Tracy Collins taking the pony section on her beautiful pony, SD Cookies & Cream, a true Riding Club horse, turning her hoof to any discipline! Despite the freezing weather all the competitors and their supporters were on good form and had an enjoyable day.
