Area B4; IGETC Area 2A A first course in statistics with an introduction to descriptive statistics (measures of central tendency, variability, standard graphical representations of data distributions, correlation and linear regression), sampling design for reliable data production via experiments and surveys, sampling distributions, tests of significance and confidence intervals, probability as it relates to inference, applications using data from a broad range of disciplines.
