rayden Dorman is a Class of 2023 Quarterback for Vista Ridge High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a Sophomore, Brayden already has an NFL ready build that allows him to see over tall offensive lines and make perfect reads at 6’5” 190 lbs. Brayden possesses a level of poise in the pocket that most quarterbacks would dream of having. Dorman’s fearlessness allows him to make throws all over the field, leaving the opposing defense decimated. He proved this last season by having 1,829 yards and 24 touchdowns in only 5 games! Brayden may be primarily known for his ability to make plays on the gridiron, but his presence in the classroom can’t go unnoticed as he currently has a 3.98 GPA. With a combination of size and accuracy, Brayden Dorman is definitely a player to look out for in the next two years and at the next level. Why did you choose to play football and when did you start? I chose to play football because it was the only sport, I was good at the time and I started playing in 1st grade. What life skills has football taught you over time? Definitely grit and perseverance, football is not a sport that is easy all the time, it teaches a lot of people to push through. Would you consider yourself a playmaking, strong arm, or a field general type of quarterback? Field general, not the fastest guy. As a Quarterback, what’s your favorite play to run? We have a play called Dino, its practically a universal coverage beater.

Do you prefer going against man or zone coverages? Either one, man you can get mismatches, and in zone the receivers can sit in the zones. What’s something you look for as soon as the ball is snapped? When I get up to the line, I look at the defense and see if our offensive is set so we don’t have any issues or penalties. I also see if I need to change anything. What’s your favorite kind of throw to make? A comeback route throw or a fade to the endzone. In your opinion, what offensive style would suit you the best? Right now, we are more of an air raid offense, I can fit in any, but I like a system that depends on the quarterback to make the reads. What are some advantages you think you gain with your height? It definitely helps when you have big offensive lineman and defensive lineman, I can see over everyone and make a play. What current or past player, do you think your game mirrors the most? I look up to Trevor Lawrence, he fits my physical build and just like him, I can make all the throws. I also see my game in Aaron Rodgers as he can make throws unbalanced. Does your jersey number (16) hold any significance to you? I was going to be #3 but a senior receiver had it already, so I wore 16 for Joe Montana and Trevor Lawrence Do you play any sports outside of football? If so, how have they helped you become a better quarterback? Basketball, it helped with my conditioning in practice or in a game, it also helped me with my change of direction, and with my development of my leadership. In your opinion, what is the best aspect of your game? My ability to decipher defenses and figure out how to beat it. Covid-19 took away roughly half your season, how did that impact you? We didn’t get the amount of games we were supposed to get and because of that, seniors weren’t able to get a full season. Do you have any goals for your junior year? We have a pretty good team, we want to get to the playoffs, and win state. At the end of the day, who is someone you look up to? My dad, he works super hard. Do you have a quote that you live by? What now? That quote just applies to everything in life.
