Why did you choose to play football and when did you start? I started playing football when I was 6 with flag football and I chose to play it because I fell in love with the game. I love scoring touchdowns and growing closer to my teammates. What life skills has football taught you over time? Football has given me character and taught me leadership. Football is just like life and it teaches you how to go through tough situations. Would you consider yourself a playmaking, strong arm, or a field general type of quarterback? I would say I’m a playmaker, it’s what makes me stand out. I’m very lucky to be in a program where my talent can be showcased. As a Quarterback, what’s your favorite play to run? I do like to run the post dig concept, it’s explosive and it tears defenses apart. Do you prefer going against man or zone coverages? In my opinion, our receiving core was very good, so I like a man coverage because my guys could beat their guys, but I don’t mind reading zone coverages.

What’s something you look for as soon as the ball is snapped? If it’s a read, I’m looking for my read guy, before the snap you have to know what you’re looking for in the play, where the open receiver or the hole is going to be. Do you have a favorite moment in your young career? I’ve done a lot in my athletic career, but my favorite had to be this football season I had to overcome my back injury, won the starting job, and led the team to an undefeated season in district. What current or past player, do you think your game mirrors the most? Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Patrick Mahomes. Does your jersey number hold any significance to you? I have always worn number 7; it has a religious meaning to me as the number 7 shows up in the bible a lot. Do you play any sports outside of football? If so, how have they helped you become a better quarterback? I play Baseball, playing on varsity as a freshman has exposed me to high pressure situations has helped me cope with it and helped me develop leadership skills. In your opinion, what is the best aspect of your game? What I can do on my feet, helps me explore more parts of my game. How do you think Covid-19 impacted your junior season? It was different with masks and everything, lots of guidelines, but my coaches did the right things to keep us playing. Do you have any goals for your senior year? To play in December, long playoff run. At the end of the day, who is someone you look up to? My dad, he’s a pastor and an amazing influence/mentor for me through my relationship with god and athletics. What drives you when it comes to early morning workouts and late nigh practices? I look to the to my role models and just strive to be the best I can be. I’m always trying to get better either by getting stronger or faster. Describe a time where you were going through adversity, how did you get through it? I was out for my sophomore season with a stress fracture in my back, it was tough couldn’t do much athletically, I got through it with prayer and patience. Finally, what are colleges going to get out of you? They are going to get a handworker, a leader, who’s not scared to do the right things when no one is watching, and a winner.
