C Gridiron Football Top 300

layton Davis is a 5’11 Wide Receiver prospect in the class of 2022 and plays for the Lincoln County Patriots in Stanford, Kentucky. At 182, he has good route running abilities to get open, but Clayton earns his money by overpowering the corner and securing the contested catch. It is evident in his film that if there is a jump ball, he is coming down with it. However, he breaks the stereotype of the contested jump ball wide receiver archetype, as he provides respectable Yards-After-Catch ability and can make the tackler miss in open space with ease. Clayton is not only a great football player on the gridiron, but he is a great student off the field as well as he boasts a 3.7 GPA.

Tell me about yourself, what are some things you are into? I am into sports of course, video games, that is about it to be honest. I occasionally go fishing with friends too. I am into Rocket League; I am on and off with it but I am really enjoying it right now. I also play ARC. I Just recently got a PC and I have just been hooked on the games ever since. When did you start playing football? I started playing around 4th or 5th grade, I went straight to tackle. I initially wanted to play basketball, then I wanted to play football. I asked them about football, and they were alight with it. Some parent will not let you play because of the physicality of the game, so I am thankful that mine did. I got into the game by watching it a lot, I wanted to be like them one day. I know specifically I used to watch Justin Hunter form Tennessee, he was there with Peyton Manning and I think he went to play for the Titans. What motivates you to get out and practice every day? What is your why? I want to get up and be better, faster, and stronger every day. Seeing my results at the end and showing the work pays off is actual a nice thing to see. I was 160 last season and I wanted to get bigger. So I started eating and lifting a lot more and now I am 180 and I got my bench up. Seeing results of hard work paying off is nice. Is there anybody you look up to/aspire to be? Not really, I actually do not look up to anyone. If I had to pick, it would be my dad, he is a good role model. He played college baseball at a small school he went to in Georgia, then he went to the Marines and served for 4 years. Do you have a favorite college or NFL team? My favorite college team is Tennessee, my dad was a big Tennessee fan, so I grew into one too. I do not really have an NFL team. I will occasionally watch but I do not really have a favorite. I used to like the broncos, I hate to say it but Peyton Manning was on the team and my dad like him so I just joined in. What NFl player do you try to model your game around? I like Tyreek Hill, I like how fast and strong he is. He is 5’10 188 and I am pretty close to that. What has football taught you about life and yourself in general? Football has taught me that I have to be tough when things go bad and get back up. It taught me to not give up and push through the hard times. It definitely gets me mentally ready for life, how to handle adversity and how to over come it. It shows that I am kind of a chill person on the field. That relays to my actual life where I like to chill, I just try to lead by example.
