Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon unveils almost PHP3 million worth of ecstasy drugs declared as “vitamin supplements” in two parcels that arrived last May 7 from a European country. The seized illegal drugs, popularly patronized by those belonging to the high-class sector of the society or the rich, sell at more than a thousand pesos per piece. MANILA, Aug 25 (Mabuhay) – President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to go after the Abu Sayyaf group after learning that an 18 year-old kidnap victim was beheaded on Wednesday. Filipino kids win 42 awards in Chiang Mai math contest
MANILA, Aug. 24 (PNA) – It’s another triumph for young Filipino students as they brought home 42 medals and awards from an international math contest held in Thailand. The Philippine delegation, composed of 32 contestants, bagged 2 gold, 5 silver and 12 bronze medals, and 12 merit awards in the individual contest, and 7 first runners-up and 4 second runners-up trophies in the group and team contests in the 2016 Thailand International Mathematics Competition (TIMC) in Chiang Mai held from August 14 to 20.
