PERFECTION AND THE BEST POSSIBLE SENSE OF WELL-BEING. Design and technology at the highest level.
Welcome aboard Making the stay onboard an unforgettable experience calls for creative and innovative developments. From the yacht’s architecture to the engineering to the interior design, specialists develop an integrated concept that pursues this very aim. The Raxofix Viega piping system, perfectly tailored to the yacht’s construction, guarantees the reliable transport and efficient distribution of potable water and electrical power. A key advantage: Wet rooms and cabin elements can
be pre-fabricated with Raxofix for quick, easy and reliable installation in the yacht later using lightweight plastic pipes – no need for sealing elements. This saves on weight and ensures efficiency. Small dimensions and a low water volume guarantee good drinking water hygiene. The Viega Visign flush plates, with their ultra-modern look and intelligent technology, add a designer touch to the bathroom. The touchless flush technology guarantees the best possible hygiene. Viega is an exclusive partner. For a comfortable time onboard.

NEWS IN BRIEF Lloyd Werft hands over MY Solaris Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven, which is part of the MV Werften Group, handed over the 140m long Solaris on 27 May 2021. The handover marked the successful completion of this extra-ordinary project, which has been realised over several years of planning and building. The final phase of the project began with the floating out of the yacht at the shipyard at the end of February. This was followed by sea-trials in the North Sea and interior fitting out work, all of which has now been concluded. “We are very proud that we have mastered this challenge”, says Lloyd Werft Projects and Sales Director Friedrich Norden. “In many respects Solaris is a masterpiece. A number of very individual demands, some of them never experienced before in yacht building, have been incorporated into this project.”

Innovative new support ship PHI Phantom launched by Alia Yachts PHI Phantom, part of the Phi Project, features striking in-house design, exterior styling by Cor D. Rover, and naval architecture by Van Oossanen. This support ship is built to cross oceans carrying the tenders and toys for which the mothership has no garage to stow. PHI Phantom is now undergoing final sea-trials and will be delivered to the owner in June. A sleek and muscular new predator has been taken to the seas with the launch of a 36m custom support vessel by Alia Yachts. Earlier this month, the Turkish yard painstakingly drove the fully aluminium yacht out of the building halls and lifted it into the water in Antalya using a 200t travel lift. PHI Phantom, part of the PHI Project, is a fine example of the yard’s metalworking skills, and features a striking in-house interior design. Destined to support the custom superyacht PHI by Royal Huisman, PHI Phantom reflects many elements of the larger yacht’s design.

Benetti launches 65m Zazou Benetti is proud to announce the launch of M/Y Zazou, a 65m full custom yacht with sleek and sinuous lines. The steel hull was painted at the request of the owner, a frequent Benetti customer, in an elegant Carinthia blue colour; and the superstructure is made with aluminium. The external lines are by Giorgio M. Cassetta and the interiors, as well as some of the external spaces, are by Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. The yacht, which accommodates twelve people in six double cabins, has one of the largest sun decks in its category with a gym, a 5m long swimming pool, and an outdoor cinema on top of another cinema area on the main deck. Two Caterpillar 3512C engines allow the yacht to navigate autonomously for 8,000km at a cruising speed of 15 knots.

NEWS IN BRIEF CMC Marine: Argo system installed aboard two new yachts The new flagship of the Azimut Yachts Grande collection and the new Flexplorer from Cantiere delle Marche are equipped with the Argo system to improve comfort, safety, and fuel efficiency while under way. CMC Marine’s route control system Argo has conquered two new yachts: it was recently installed aboard the 40m Flexplorer Aurelia of Cantiere delle Marche and aboard the new Grande Trideck of Azimut Yachts. The Pisan company’s new system, drawing from years of experience onboard yachts and superyachts, was designed to integrate the active surfaces on the boat; the aim is to coordinate the fins and rudders to ensure optimal course stability and, consequently, considerable fuel savings. Since the development of the two innovative stabilising fin series, the Argo solution to make them communicate and work in harmony was the natural next step.

Feadship launches 95m hybrid motor yacht The Feadship yard in Makkum has launched 95m Bliss. Subject of enormous owner involvement and the epitome of the custom build experience, this timeless family yacht benefits from the very latest hybrid propulsion and, with Polar Code certification, is set to be a world traveller. Bliss is a displacement superyacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and showcases a modern classic exterior styling developed by the owner and Studio De Voogt. The yacht has a clean and highly symmetrical design with her tenders and a large fleet of toys neatly concealed so as not to intrude upon her meticulously chosen lines. The owner’s involvement has been paramount to the success of both the exterior and interior design, with incredible attention to detail and a fantastic cooperation between designer Jan Schaffers of Studio De Voogt for the exterior design and Rémi Tessier for the elegant interior style. The result is an iconic design that feels natural and welcoming, inside and out.

NEWS IN BRIEF Lusben completes M/Y Oasis refit The refit of M/Y Oasis, the 60m steel and aluminium superyacht built by German shipyard Lürssen Yachts in 2006, has just been completed at the Lusben shipyard in Livorno. The superyacht, completely repainted and returned to its owner ahead of schedule, is now ready for the summer season. Lusben has been working on M/Y Oasis since October 2020. To the great satisfaction of all parties involved, the refit concluded at the end of April 2021, eight days ahead of schedule. The refit operations involved the renewing of the class and, most intensively, the total repainting of the entire yacht. The latter activity, which called for precise and accurate planning, concerned a total area of about 2,300m². Lusben finished the work eight days early, thanks to the shipyard’s specialised workforce overcoming the limitations imposed by anti-COVID regulations.

ISA Super Sportivo 30m GTO ISA Super Sportivo 30m GTO was launched at the Palumbo Superyachts Ancona shipyard. This sporty designed 30m silver arrow with a glass superstructure will premiere next September during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021. Marco Casali of Too Design created both the exterior and interior design, while the naval engineering is by Palumbo Superyachts. Performance is certainly the main ingredient of what is about to be one of the fastest models currently available on the market. With three MAN 2000 HP engines, she can reach the impressive speed of 50 knots. The concept of ISA Super Sportivo 30m GTO focuses on the maximum enhancement of values of sportiness and seaworthiness in an open vessel.

NEWS IN BRIEF New OTAM Custom Range Following in the wake of the award-winning first unit in the OTAM Aluminium Custom Range 35m Gipsy designed by Tommaso Spadolini, the Ligurian shipyard now presents another fully engineered 35m proposal. However, the only thing the two projects have in common is their overall length, as this new design will be one the fastest alloy yachts on the water, capable of reaching 44 knots. The exterior lines by BG Design Firm, the same studio behind the new OTAM 70 HT, are inspired by the aeronautical and automotive worlds to reflect the brand’s racy DNA. Design details include the chromed ventilation vents in the transom and the air inlet on top of the hardtop. The deep-V hull has been developed by Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design to provide excellent seakeeping, comfortable entry into waves, and high speeds.

Tankoa yachts announces the sale of the first T580 Tankoa Yachts is pleased to announce the sale of the new T580 yacht. This is the first 58m model, a fantastic addition to the Italian shipyard’s fleet. The hull will be built in steel with aluminium superstructures, the exterior design is by Francesco Paszkowski, while the interiors are by Francesco Paszkowski in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. This sale, conducted and completed in collaboration with Giancarlo Mussino, Managing Director of Sinos, who introduced the client and will represent them during construction, once again confirms the ability of the Genoa-based shipyard to develop fully customisable projects. From the first previews, the Tankoa T580 will be a worldwide explorer with a sporty profile, able to cover long cruises thanks to a range of more than 5,000nm.

New Videoworks 3D virtual software Videoworks, the leader company in audio/visual, entertainment, IT, and lighting & comfort, confirms its ability to innovate by unveiling its new Lighting Engineering system, which is revolutionising the design of yachting lighting solutions. Engineer Leo Megna, Head of Lighting and Comfort Projects at Videoworks, explains, “A new design method has been developed specifically for lighting technology, a new software created ad hoc, in collaboration with Eon Reality, which allows us to offer a highly innovative tool for the integration and control of lighting points inside the yacht with the fundamental support of virtual reality. Together with the architect and the shipyard, the different lighting scenarios are hereby optimised and subsequently proposed to the owner, who will have an incredibly realistic view of the various rooms thanks to a 3D viewer. This will allow for all the details to be worked out before they are actually built.”

In addition, a number of other new features have also been incorporated into the design, including a new accommodation layout for up to seven guests and four staff plus crew.
Enhanced comfort Further design and mechanical enhancements also distinguish Time Off from Damen Yachting’s previous Yacht Support deliveries. Yachting features have been incorporated, designed to enhance onboard comfort such as generator sound enclosure, upgraded AV and navigation systems, and updated engine room installations. As with all Yacht Supports, of which sixteen in total have already been delivered in the last ten years, Time Off features unrivalled sea-keeping capabilities thanks to her successful Sea Axe hull form. She is a vessel configured for flexibility and a blend of adventure and superyacht support functions. Limited Editions Grace back to the shipyard where she was originally built in the Netherlands for a refit. Delivered in 2009, Grace stems from the successful Amels 180 Limited Editions design, which originally started as the Amels 171 – a design series of six which, over a period of fifteen years, evolved to the Amels 180 and the delivery of 25 yachts. Eleven years on, and Grace returns to Vlissingen for a four-month refit that will see a number of works take place, including a technical upgrade, complete hull respray, and interior modification.
A sense of pride “It’s wonderful to see Grace back at the yard”, says Damen Yachting Sales Manager Michel Coens, who knows the yacht well from her time at the yard during the original build. “Being able to welcome yachts and their crew from the fleet back to our yard is always a great honour. There is a real sense of pride in welcoming back one of our own, and also having the opportunity to once again shape a yacht to the owner’s wishes”. He goes on to explain the additional added value of returning to the original builder. “The owner and crew know they are in safe and experienced hands. The entire team know the yacht inside out, which is a big advantage. But

Both 60m Limited Editions designs are an evolution of the Amels 188 and bear the unmistakable exterior design signature of Tim Heywood. n order to further amplify the range of services, Lusben in 2004 acquired a new site in Livorno of more than 120m. Here, the new area Giga was completed, maximising Lusben’s ability to assist ship owners, crews, and the management of increasingly larger yachts. In order to develop the refit & repair areas, the shipyard in Varazze became part of the Lusben network in 2019. This site is characterised by modern facilities and innovative technologies. Let us take a closer look at some of Lusben’s latest accomplishments.
Morning Glory completion In the beginning of April, Lusben concluded the refit of Morning Glory, Perini Navi’s 48m sailing superyacht, famous for having Australian telecommunications magnate Rupert Murdoch as a previous owner. The historic ketch, built in 1993 at the iconic Perini Navi shipyard in Viareggio, has been restored to her original splendour according to the wishes of her new Italian owner. Through the Forza 3 company in Milan, Lusben was chosen to carry out the yacht’s ten year refit.
Complex operation The Lusben team was responsible for painting the hull, living areas, and part of the aft cockpit, as well as for replacing the generators and refurbishing almost half of the teak deck. The deck work in particular has allowed the shipyard’s specialised workers to highlight their experience and know-how; more than 40% of the teak was replaced with slats of variable lengths from 4.5 to 6m, a notoriously complex operation. The standard slats are at just 3m typically much shorter, and this type of work

Morning Glory is the first of six Perini Navi boats to be launched this season.
requires greater care and precision on sailing boats than on motorboats.
Go team! The refit went on for a total of five months and involved almost 50 workers in total, including direct employees and external suppliers who worked in cooperation with the crew. The incredible team effort earned the owner’s expressed interest and satisfaction, who is now ready to cruise the Mediterranean. Morning Glory is the first of six Perini Navi boats to be launched this season. The remaining five are currently undergoing refits at the Lusben facilities in Livorno and Viareggio, planned for delivery to their owners in the coming weeks. Despite the severe limitations imposed by the global pandemic, careful planning of activities has allowed Lusben to stay on schedule.
Audace Another recently completed Lusben project was the refitting of explorer yacht Audace. The refit of motor yacht Audace, explorer of Cantiere delle Marche, was finished at the Lusben shipyard in Viareggio. The full-custom yacht, commissioned by Andrea Merloni, former president of Fineldo and Indesit who recently passed away, has been the subject of an overhaul by the Lusben team. After the first season onboard, the owner was considering a series of modifications and improvements to make the yacht satisfy his needs even more and to be able to use it as a residence for most of the year. The Merloni Family, together with the shipyard, designer, and architect, wanted to carry out all the given directives as a form of respect for the late owner.

owner’s deck and upper deck has been redesigned and can now be heated. The electrical system has been entirely renovated. Finally, all the furnishings on the owner’s deck have been revised and the palette has shifted from a prevalence of light colours to darker tones, making the rooms feel even more refined.
Outdoor life The yacht’s maximum speed has increased from 15.8 to 17 knots, while consumption has been reduced by 20%.
Redefining spaces and utilisation Designed by close collaboration of Merloni, Andrea Pezzini, CEO of Floating Life, and architect Mauro Sculli from the studio bearing his name, Audace was the subject of important structural work that has completely redefined her spaces and utilisation. From the original 42m, she has grown to an overall length of 46.6m. The stern has been lengthened by 2.4m and the bow has been made more aerodynamic and lengthened by 2.2m. Thanks to these changes, the strengthening of the generators,

and other structural improvements, the maximum speed of the yacht has increased from 15.8 to 17 knots, while consumption has been reduced by 20%.
More refined feel Audace’s interiors have undergone a careful and complete overhaul as well. Two lifts were installed to facilitate movement between the decks and service to guests, and an engineered emergency staircase now connects the owner’s cabin with the lower deck. The flooring of the
Like the interior, Audace’s exterior has been refitted too. The stern platform has seen a total makeover of the teak, and a robotic telescopic gangway has been installed with an 8m extension. The yacht was designed to facilitate a mainly outdoor life onboard. The large external living areas desired by Merloni, which can accommodate a banquet of 60 guests, have remained intact, except for the bar areas which are now more professional. All the works have been designed and followed by the technical studio of Floating Life and Satura Studio. The stops imposed by the pandemic did not have much impact on the work’s timetable, despite delays in the procurement of some materials by supplier companies: the refit was completed in sixteen months, with full compliance with the measures against COVID implemented by Lusben.

FOR A COMPANY THAT COULD SUPPLY HIGH-QUALITY MACHINED
Breman Machinery is a family business that has existed since 1864. The company’s daily activities consist of machining steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and bronze in large dimensions, with extreme precision, and with very high-quality standards. preservation. Breman Machinery has all the in-house knowledge, skills, and resources to offer its clients a complete, modern, and certified manufacturing process as a contractor within the offshore wind, offshore oil & gas, and yachting industry. Some product examples include special parts for masts, rudders, and keels, produced with extreme accuracy.
SY Kokomo Multi award winning superyacht Kokomo has access to the shallowest bays. She is 58.4m long and built by Alloy Yachts. The lifting keel is an important part of the yacht because it allows Kokomo to sail in shallower waters where other superyachts cannot. Replacing the keel parts of Kokomo is part of MCM’s yacht management services, in which the company supports the operational aspects of the yacht for the owner.
Three continents working together Breman Machinery was asked to make ten keel parts that all connect to each other. What made this project fascinating is that it was performed with a team from 3 different continents; Peter Wilson & Jon Jeffreys who represented MCM Newport USA, keel parts Engineer John Wittington from New Zealand, Engineer Mark O’Brien and Captain of SY Kokomo Adam Painter from Mallorca, and Wim Stapel and Niek Breman from Breman Machinery in the Netherlands. Despite the communication from three different time zones, this worldwide collaboration went smoothly, from the start to the moment of supply.
Requirements It was of utmost importance to MCM Newport that the new components for the yacht were supplied on time. A deal is a deal, after all. Another very important requirement was, of course, that all the parts fit seamlessly so the yacht can perform in all its excellence.

Delivery Designs and drawings were carefully discussed and looked over with the client before production, paying attention to the tiniest details as every detail can make a big impact. When machining products like these, it is always important to leave it up to experienced and professional people, and with great success, because high-quality products have been produced by the Breman team. After machining the products, they were all immediately connected, so there wouldn’t be any surprises during the assembly in Mallorca. There was great pressure on the team to seamlessly connect the new parts to the existing parts, hence the consequences would be immense if this wasn’t the case. The transport to Mallorca was arranged by Breman Machinery, using their regular transporter to safely and timely transport the products. Thanks to a successful collaboration, Kokomo will be able to enjoy the sailing season in her new and improved form.

elivered to her American owner in November 2020, the 49m long full-custom M/Y EIV superyacht combines the experience of Rossinavi and Venetian design studio Team for Design, in charge of exterior and interior design, with technologies and mechanical components from the United States. The result is a unique superyacht with lines of timeless elegance enclosing impressive interior spaces, accommodating four spacious double cabins and a master suite on the forward part of the main deck, and a private terrace to starboard, all equipped with the latest technology in the service of comfort.
It’s all connected
Videoworks designed the AV, IT, CCTV, telephone, and lighting systems on board the 49m Rossinavi.
Entertainment systems add to the possibilities for relaxing on board of this elegant 49m long yacht, as demonstrated by the sophisticated Party Mode system. The lighting system engineered by Videoworks and blinds are entirely based on Lutron hardware, one of the leading manufacturers of lighting control systems. Videoworks designed the AV/IT, CCTV, telephone, and lighting systems as well as the system engineering (liaising with electricians and lighting suppliers) and supplied the materials for the electrical panels and the control keypads, complete with silk-screen printing, to make time on board even more pleasant and comfortable. The AV/IT system is based on the philosophy of a centralised system with all the main electronics installed in three 42-unit rack cabinets (about 2m high). All the hardware for the IT infrastructure (cabled and Wi-Fi) is made by CISCO, known for its worldwide reliability and performance. The telephone system includes both fixed telephones in the technical areas and cordless telephones, and is connected to the GSM and satellite lines on board.
Synergy Federico Rossi, COO of Rossinavi, shares, “Superyachts are the perfect way to travel the world, so it’s important not only to install topquality technological components, but to create a group able to provide assistance and support anywhere in the world. A synergy we can offer, thanks to Videoworks and its partners.”

Sit back and relax The Party Mode system allows the same music source to be played in shared spaces and in the guests’ and owners’ cabins. The owners’ cabin also features a 4K screen, hidden behind a special mirror to conceal it from view when not in use. The crew cabins, laundry, and galley areas are equipped with a simple but comprehensive audiovisual system including TV and Apple TV. The CCTV system, made up entirely of Panasonic, Canon, and Axis professional products, includes eight high-resolution IP cameras, two control stations with Milestone software, and a network recorder for recording video flows and archiving them in encrypted form. The CCTV system is also equipped with a motion alarm connected to the vessel’s monitoring system. Two wall-mounted touchscreens, located in the crew area and in the pantry, allow the control of the audio of the common areas (Party Mode included) and the tracking of the Satellite TV dishes. In addition, they even show a comprehensive view of the racks temperature, with an over-temperature audible alarm to prevent any warming issues.
Owners and guests can enjoy a complete audio-visual experience thanks to the many sources available.
Taking stock Following the delivery of the Rossinavi M/Y EIV last November, a handover took place between Videoworks Med and Videoworks USA, with the participation of the onboard ETO. This solution made it possible to take stock of some of the yacht’s needs (such as installation of TV SAT software for the USA) prior to its departure for the United States, thus optimising the entire after-sales service.

FOCUS ON THE NETHERLANDS
The ultimate goal of stimulating technologies that reduce energy demand and enhance system efficiency is now much closer.
YETI spotted Other promising developments at Feadship have been seen with a measurement tool designed to allow the entire superyacht industry to objectively assess the environmental credentials of existing yachts and new concepts. Initiated by Bram Jongepier, Senior Design Specialist at Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects, the Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI) has over the past two years been taken to the next level under the auspices of the Water Revolution. The ultimate goal of stimulating technologies that reduce energy demand and enhance system efficiency is now much closer. “I could never have imagined that my brainwave at three in the morning one night in November 2018 could have led us to this stage. We now have a very powerful group of yacht building colleagues, yards, naval architects, and knowledge institutes collaborating on the YETI, and the achievements have been impressive”, states Mr Jongepier. “I could never have imagined that my brainwave at three in the morning one night in November 2018 could have led us to this stage. We now have a very powerful group of yacht building colleagues, yards, naval architects and

knowledge institutes collaborating on the YETI and the achievements have been impressive.”
Life-cycle approach The original challenge that Mr Jongepier identified and Feadship initially set out to solve was the lack of comparison models for assessing how eco-friendly superyachts are. Yachts sail at a variety of speeds, they are not like commercial vessels. Nor are they switched off when moored, so any comparison with car rating systems is invalid. While yachts provide accommodation for guests, they do not stay at the same location all the time and hence cannot be compared to hotel buildings either. Being able to evaluate the ecological impact of a yacht should enable improvements by taking a life-cycle approach. Examples include enhanced hydrodynamics (flow optimisation, propeller efficiency, displacement), systems (efficient machinery, heat recovery, insulation), materials (recycling, sustainable sourcing), and the local environment (underwater noise and zero discharge emission capture).
The ultimate YETI score
sector at large, Feadship was pleased to hand the YETI baton over to the Water Revolution Foundation in March 2019. A great deal has been achieved over the past two years with this joint-industry approach, with a focus on finding clear definitions for the operational profile of yachts and their consumed energy. A first working model is now up and running that calculates emissions and as such, environmental impact, expressing these in socalled ecopoints. The current calculations consider, amongst others, the effects of partload efficiencies of engines, shore power consumption, battery banks, sail power, exhaust treatment, and waste heat recovery. The next step is to find a common denominator to make a comparison between yachts. A verifiable functional unit of luxury is needed so that the same experience can be provided to clients by using less resources. Efforts made to reduce that resource consumption will then be reflected in the ultimate YETI score.

Columbus Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, happily announced the launch of a new line devoted to elegance and versatility: Atlantique. The first of a series of 3 boats, the Columbus Atlantique 43m fully reflects Hot Lab’s design philosophy of, ‘Architecture for Voyagers’, a combination of stylistic, design, and functional elements dedicated to traveling by sea to fully enjoy every single moment on board. Hot Lab, responsible for both exterior and interior design, has pushed the interaction of spaces with the marine environment to the limit. The hull silhouette is reminiscent of yachts of bygone days and the stern area, with its large

Sailboat-style Atlantique 43 is a yacht designed to the exact requirements of the owner and his family, characterised by large outdoor areas that seamlessly merge with the generous interior spaces. The indoor areas of the main and upper decks allow for total contact with the surrounding landscape. Her exterior lines are clean and elegant, with a touch of sportiness reminiscent of the most admired Italian GT cars in the world. The sailboat-style stern of the Atlantique 43 is perhaps her most distinctive area. The central swimming pool surrounded by a C-shaped seat facing astern is highly scenic. The whole area is very low on the water thanks to the choice of digging the aft section and taking it to just 50cm from the sea, in addition to the two folding side wings that enhance the feeling of direct contact

with the natural environment. Immediately behind and only two steps up, are two large L-shaped seats facing aft and an expandable table seating.
Spaces for everyone Indoor, the main saloon is typified by two relaxation areas. The rest of the main deck is divided into several areas; moving starboard towards the bow is the main lobby with the stairwell, the double-exit lift and further on, access to a guest area that can be used as a small gym or library. The forward port area of the main deck is instead dedicated to the crew and houses a pantry, a cold room, the laundry, the main galley, and even a crew mess. The deck is completed by the captain cabin with an ensuite bathroom and a second garage for rescue tender and toys. The upper deck is mainly reserved for the owner (in the six cabin version) and characterised by an entirely private aft terrace. The sundeck version includes an
external staircase for access from the stern as well. The owner’s studio, a large dressing room with a comfortable sea view vanity, and the owner’s bathroom with tub and shower complete this area. The bow features an outdoor lounge area and a second swimming pool surrounded by sun pads. The lower deck houses five cabins, two VIP with bathroom at side, two twin, and a full-beam VIP suite. The lower deck forward is dedicated to the crew, with four double cabins, each with their own bathroom, and a staircase leading to the second crew area on the main deck. In the five cabin version, the owner’s cabin is located on the main deck and features four large cabins below deck.

Proposed as a stately, contemporary ‘classic’, the Commodore 57 aims to achieve the robust charm of timeless seagoing vessels, without the compromises of vintage builds. The flowing, airy spaces aboard, combined with unique features and systems, will help ensure a truly capable yacht. Amenities include an enclosed 10.4m expedition tender, 8.5m sport RIB, eco-friendly hybrid power, five staterooms, beach club, sauna, masseuse suite, elevator, pool and hot tub, dive centre, flared bow giving on-deck safety for passengers, and crew of twelve.

The name of the concept highlights the extreme practicality of this yacht. A Commodore, being a senior naval commander, knows what works and what makes sense. Such an experienced man would order a purposeful, no-nonsense yacht like this. The Commodore 57 includes a 10.4m enclosed expedition tender, a fine machine for exploring. Being the perfect companion to the mother ship, this 10.4m craft has been called Blackthorn, after the stick traditionally carried by a Commodore.
Transformability of interior and exterior spaces The exterior has a wide range of spaces with a logical layout and many functional elements, all arranged artfully. One of her hallmarks is the transformability of certain areas such as the aft deck and sky lounge. The bow deck hosts one of the two spa pools aboard, a raised seating group positioned ahead of the foremast, and a 5.5m rescue tender that can be launched within seconds using a preprogrammed robotic crane. From there, the access stairs lead the guests to the lounge coach roof. The second pool is located on the deck lounge, along with a shaded drink bar, various sun loungers, and great views. The beach club area is one deck below and includes both a sauna and a treatment and massage suite. A second, bottom-hinger beach platform emerges from the port side. Liebowitz & Partners has unveiled two proposals for Commodore 57’s interior: light colours are the essence of the first concept, while the second one is based on a darker palette.

OUTFITTERS Otam 65 HT - the fastest Otam ever according to designer Francesco Guida The new Otam 65 HT has been conceived to meet the specific demands of a deeply passionate and brave yacht owner, driven by the desire not to buy a serial product but to create a brand-new design. At the customer’s request, the Francesco Guida Design firm designed the styling and details of the internal layout and of the external cockpit, giving the yacht even more personality and translating the specific requests of the customer with a lot of attention to detail. The extreme customisation typical of the Italian shipyard is expressed to the fullest in the new Otam 65 HT, which can be perfectly described as a ‘made in Italy one-off’. This yacht embodies the concepts of experience, research, development, flexibility, iconic design, and top performance combined with outstanding efficiency. i. otam.it
High-strength fff ship windows from Fehrmann They are still primarily installed in police boats, patrol vessels and heavy weather rescue cruisers, where they ensure the greatest possible safety under the toughest conditions. Now Fehrmann opens the distribution of its patented fff windows for other ship groups, national and international. The fff ship windows are 600% more resistant to failure compared to windows commonly available on the market: even in tests according to naval standards, in which shock and vibration tests showed that the windows withstood more than ten times the acceleration of gravity. This gain in safety for crew and cargo, not only during autumn storms, has already convinced several shipping companies to equip their ships with fff windows. Complete windows can be replaced within a few minutes and without any hot work. This is made possible by a patented clamping system that eliminates the need for screws or adhesives. To install or replace an fff window, all you need is a hex wrench or a cordless screwdriver.
Cyber security assessment capabilities to support vessels with IMO 2021 Cyber Security Compliance
i. fehrmann.tech Vessels worldwide are now facing compliance with IMO 2021 cyber security regulations. These are the first of what could be additional cyber security regulations for regulated vessels and facilities. International Maritime Security Associates (IMSA), the developers of the award-winning ARMS software platform, have developed a suite of cyber security tools and services for the maritime industry. The company has recently launched the capability to conduct basic shipboard network vulnerability assessments without sending personnel onboard. This unique tool is part of a larger suite of cyber security tools IMSA has developed to support vessels and maritime facilities with expanding their cyber security defenses. Some of these cyber security tools are part of the ARMS software platform. Through ARMS, IMSA can monitor a vessel’s critical systems and networks remotely in real-time through their state-of-the-art SOC (Security Operations Center). This capability protects vessels from real-time threats to IT, OT, and other critical network systems. i. arms.imsa.global

OUTFITTERS New Crewsaver cylinder locking system Survitec brand, Crewsaver, is pleased to announce the launch of EXOLOK. EXOLOK is a new cylinder locking system that provides increased security for gas cylinders attached to lifejackets – helping to ensure your lifejacket protection is securely locked in. EXOLOK will be fitted to all Crewsaver lifejackets going forwards. It can additionally be retrofitted to all existing Crewsaver lifejackets with UML or Halkey Roberts firing heads by owners. From March 2021, Crewsaver inflatable lifejacket services carried out by approved service stations will incorporate EXOLOK as standard. The innovative system removes any potential for a gas cylinder to work loose within a lifejacket, instilling more confidence than ever regarding lifejacket performance. Users can perform a quick visual check to see that all is well, making sure their gas cylinder is correctly threaded with a glance to see that two arrows line-up. The orange EXOLOK system is for UML operating mechanisms, while the yellow is for Halkey Roberts firing heads. From 2021 all-new Crewsaver lifejackets will include EXOLOK as standard, bringing safety and innovation to the forefront.
Invictus Yacht keeps evolving and reveals the Capoforte collection Invictus Yacht never stops. The Italian shipyard, after the recent success of the TT460 flagship, is continuing the expansion and optimization of its ranges. The result is the creation of the Capoforte collection, which includes all the models of the X range that can be recognised by their traditionally elegant aesthetics and the carefully designed ergonomics. These features make them particularly suitable for family relaxation but also for recreational fishing. The collection’s name, Capoforte, wants to bring to mind the image of a timeless, fascinating location, a solid fortress, a guiding beacon and landmark; a headland that stands against the waves and, lastly, a sunny Mediterranean location, which evokes an exclusive and truly authentic Italian elegance. i. invictusyacht.com

Meet the WB 10.7m LimoTender Wooden Boats is no stranger to challenges. With its vocation of combining elegant design with efficient engineering and performance as its starting point, it has created the new WB 10.7m LimoTender. The tender’s distinguishing feature is the movable deckhouse, which is necessary for it to be comfortably stowed in the garage of the superyacht that houses it. The American owners who commissioned the WB 10.7m LimoTender had no doubts: after appreciating the WB14 built for the Benetti shipyard, they wanted as similar a tender as possible for their 100m mega yacht. The sheer size of the garage presented the boutique shipyard in Viareggio with a truly complex challenge, which its owner and founder, engineer Marco Arnaboldi, took on with great determination. i. woodenboats.it
