NEWS IN BRIEF Columbus Crossover hull under construction Columbus Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, confirms that the construction of the steel hull for the first 40m Crossover unit has started at its Savona shipyard. The project is on sale with delivery scheduled for spring 2024. The exterior lines are by Hydro Tec, while the interior design is penned by Francesco Guida. The new Columbus Crossover 40 project stems from the need of housing large tenders on compact yachts, and at the same time endorses the new lifestyle regarding a boat as a private island on which to concentrate all the holiday activities. The exterior lines are characterised by modern and muscular shapes, with a prevalence of stretched and angled surfaces, and with a higher distribution of volume in the forward area than typically found on Crossovers, so as to make room for the tender.

Royal Huisman’s project 410 Project 410 will be the world’s largest sloop. She will be a true sailor’s yacht, ready to sail in a matter of minutes and capable of sailing very fast, in comfort, to make the most of that long waterline – better equipped to explore the world. She will be exciting to sail, even in light airs, with an impressive ability to build and increase apparent wind speed. As a very experienced owner, the client sought to create a leading-edge project that would be head-turning, arresting and iconic. And yet it should provide all the safety features, comforts, and luxury of a mega yacht. Frers Design and Wetzels Brown teamed up to present the concept that was selected by the owner to meet this challenging brief. After an intense year of development, the designs are finalised and the exciting preparations for the construction process begin. Project 410 will be constructed at Royal Huisman's newbuild facilities.

FOCUS ON THE NETHERLANDS
Juice on top
In January of this year, 71m superyacht Juice was undocked from the giant Feadship construction hall. Observers were mesmerised by the beauty of this timeless superyacht: a blend of polished stainless steel, glass, and teak offer a classic feel while the exterior lines showcase a sleek and captivatingly contemporary elegance. T
he owner of Juice, a repeat client for Feadship, has worked tirelessly with the designers at RWD to ensure a refined exterior flow with soft lines and distinctive creases. All unnecessary elements have been removed to generate an elegant yet masculine look. Another instantly visible aspect is the walk-around superstructure along with a striking coherence between the decks on a superyacht that synthesises Feadship’s seasoned ability to meet the most stringent

demands. From the pillars and the stairs to the base of the large 8m pool on the main deck, all structural parts of the exterior have been finished in polished stainless steel. Transparent features are made of glass, including the railings and the sides of the pool, and large flat and curved glazed panels ensure unrestricted views.

has been considered by the designers to give a feeling of warmth and comfort. Beneath the stunning flush foredeck three custom tenders are housed – a 10m limo, an 8m guest RIB, and a rescue boat –that are launched via the gullwing doors in the hull. Peter Marino has drawn an interior which is entirely focused on using the most beautiful materials. Again, the client devoted countless hours to finding the essential ingredients, right down to personally selecting pieces of veneer for the central staircase. This exacting attention to detail and insistence on perfection are why the owner came to Feadship: every element on board has been meticulously designed and built, with nothing left to chance.
Juice on top
Juice has a complete owner’s deck between the bridge and main decks, an unusual acquisition for a yacht of this size. She also features four impressive guest suites on the main deck, a large beach club, a lower deck cinema, and a gymnasium on the sun deck. The name reflects the fact that the

owner is a keen collector of modern art and the 3D logo of the name on the funnel is inspired by an eponymous 1967 work by American artist Ed Ruscha. Auction connoisseurs will recognise the nod to ‘juice on top’, an expression from that world with a similar meaning to ‘icing on the cake’. There can be no more appropriate description of a Feadship that is the pinnacle of achievement for all parties involved. On 5 April, Juice departed the Feadship shipyard to take on her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean following delivery to her owner. Shortly before that, Juice was put through her paces during rigorous sea trials in the North Sea.

Marex 3D joystick system.
Control at your fingertips Docking and undocking your vessel in narrow or confined spaces can be challenging – even if you’re an experienced boater. Even in the midst of wind and waves, you must operate the steering and the main and auxiliary drives at the same time. ALL PHOTOS COURTESY OF EMERSON.
T
he Marex 3D joystick system simplifies this process, enabling boaters of any experience level to handle these operations with one hand. The system makes it easy to manoeuvre

yachts, speedboats and other vessels in narrow spaces. It also provides boaters with intelligent control and dynamic positioning features, making boating a breeze.
Improved conventional controls
In a traditional control system, turning the wheel of a yacht or speedboat moves the rudder in the water. This steering method

A UTOMATION & CONTROL SOLUTIONS

relies on water continuously running across the rudder, making navigation at slower speeds or in harbors much more difficult. To overcome this challenge, many boats utilise thrusters in addition to the main propulsion system. However, handling the steering wheel, engaging both the engine and thrusters and contending with the wind and current is a lot for one person to handle – especially in tight or narrow spaces.
>>
The AVENTICS™ Marex 3D joystick system overcomes these issues by bringing all the controls together in one place, enabling boaters of any skill level to control their vessel using an ergonomically designed joystick. As the boater pushes or twists the joystick, the boat mirrors the movement exactly by managing the engines and thrusters. At the same time, the system automatically compensates for unwanted movements due to crosswind or current using a sophisticated vector control unit and integrated electronic compass. The Marex 3D joystick system is based on the Marex OS remote control system for reversing gear systems. When combined with an existing Marex OS system, boaters can operate Marex 3D as a standalone joystick, or they can pair the joystick with the main engine controls. In thruster mode, the joystick operates the thrusters, while the engine remains under the control of the Marex OS control head. In 3D mode, the joystick controls all driving units: thrusters, engines and steering gear. “When you move the joystick, the system intelligently decides whether it needs to engage the bow thruster, the stern thruster, or both,” explains Steve Vincent, Manager of Marine Business Development at Emerson. “Or the system may decide it also needs to engage the gearbox. The intelligence is built in, and so the system will automatically coordinate all the driving units based on the desired result.”
Unlocking Additional Benefits
Yachts like the Jack of Hearts incorporate the Marex 3D joystick system, which comes in handy while waiting for drawbridges or at fuel docks.

Emerson.indd 14
On top of its standard control features, including the ergonomic joystick, vector control unit and integrated compass, the Marex 3D joystick system offers several dynamic positioning capabilities. First, with the heading hold feature, the system maintains the boat’s heading while allowing the vessel to drift, allowing boaters to enjoy the view of a coastline or sunset. It will even maintain the desired heading in the midst of waves and wind. Second, a virtual anchor will hold the boat within a defined circle as if the boat is attached to an invisible anchor chain. At the same time, the Marex system actuates the engines in an intelligent way to minimize fuel consumption and noise. And third, whether a boater is waiting at a drawbridge or navigating a narrow port

The Marex 3D joystick system takes the stress out of manoeuvring boats in tight spaces.
All Marex 3D controls are housed in a box that can be tucked away in the engine room.
Dr. Sternlieb takes advantage of the Marex 3D joystick’s dynamic positioning capabilities on his yacht.
entrance, the system’s 3D hold mode maintains both the heading and position of the boat with perfect accuracy. “In this mode, the deviation can be very small depending on the available thrust and duty cycle of the thrusters,” Mr Vincent explains. “In one application, I activated the system while I was in 20-knot winds, and we never deviated more than a few feet.” Together, these dynamic positioning capabilities offer skippers of yachts, speedboats and other pleasure vessels a number of benefits including: Outstanding precision – A smart control coordinates the drives, holding the boat’s heading and compensating for the yaw caused by wind or current. Intuitive control – The boat follows the movement of the joystick exactly. Simplified manoeuvring - The system eliminates the need to handle the wheel and control levers at the same time, facilitating navigation in ports and harbours.
s u p e r y a c h t - i n d u s t r y.c om
Emerson.indd 15
Cost and space savings – With Marex 3D, additional control elements for transverse thrusters are no longer necessary. Control flexibility – Marex 3D is a flexible solution for vessels of all sizes. It lets boaters integrate up to six joystick stations and retrofit existing Marex systems.
Stress-free boating
“Having recently owned a yacht with pod propulsion equipped with dynamic positioning, I was surprised to find this technology is also available for shaftdriven yacht,” says Jack Sternlieb, MD, owner and operator of the Jack of Hearts. “I added the Marex 3D joystick to my new yacht and have been extremely pleased with the dynamic positioning capabilities. These features work well whenever I’m waiting at drawbridges or fuel docks, or when the USCS boards for a routine inspection. I highly recommend this technology especially for owner operators, as it will help make boating a stress-free process.”
Easy Upgrading
The Marex 3D joystick system is a supplement to the Emerson AVENTICS Marex OS control system, which was famously installed on the boats featured in National Geographic’s Wicked Tuna television series. Emerson recently modified its Marex 3D joystick for easier integration into vessels with a Marex OS system. In these cases, the joystick can be retrofitted with minimal wiring effort, reducing both installation and startup times. i. emerson.com

We got in touch with CEO of Oceanco, Marcel Onkenhout. As he has been part of the company for 28 years, Mr Onkenhout can surely give us interesting insights in the evolution of the company, but most of all, we are eager to get to know the man behind the CEO. Who has been your biggest role model during your studies and/or career path and how has this person inspired you?

in partnership with others, in order to achieve success in whatever your endeavors might be. The first from Stephen Covey, who wrote The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is: “Surround yourself with people who are even more talented and competent than you.” And the second from Bill Gates, whose words have certainly aged well, is: “As we look ahead to the next century, leaders will be those who empower others.” I hope that I have stayed true to the spirit of both. As a youngster, did you ever dream of becoming the CEO of a big yacht building company?
I’m not sure I was aware that such a job existed. But I have always loved being by the water and boats, which is perhaps in the blood as a Dutchman! In fact, CEO was not really on my radar for a while, even while working at Oceanco.

A number of years after completing my degree in Industrial Engineering in Tilburg, the Netherlands, I joined Oceanco in 1994 as a project manager for the company’s fourth yacht, 50.6m Accolade (now Lady Z), which was constructed at the newly acquired Dreumel yard. Oceanco was a relative newcomer to the industry at that point, and we were setting new standards with our approach to yacht building. A decade later, after experiencing practically every element of the yacht building process first-hand, I became the company’s General Manager of Marketing and Sales, followed by Deputy Managing Director and then finally CEO. It has been a privilege to work with so many outstanding colleagues, clients and co-makers over the years, and I am really proud of what we have achieved at Oceanco in the 28 years since I joined, including so many world firsts with our daring, one-

Oceanco is like family to me and I am glad that together we continue to grow and evolve, leading the change in our industry with initiatives such as Oceanco NXT and Superyacht NFTs. Apart from being the CEO of Oceanco, could you share with us what your favorite way is to spend your free time?
I love to be by the water and have always wanted to pass this on to my children. When we can, come rain or sunshine, my sons and I like to go fishing together. It is not just for the challenge of catching something, but the special moments that you share with one another and the chance to talk without distraction. And of course shopping with my daughters. Our lives have been turned upside down throughout the world during the pandemic. Looking back on it now, what is the most valuable lesson you have learned in the past two years?

challenges of the pandemic, we can all be really proud of what we have been able to achieve to keep moving forward when the whole world felt like it was in disarray. We are also developing our Oceanco NXT initiative to incorporate a more holistic collective of forward-thinking partners, which is great to see evolving. And of course our highly anticipated Superyacht NFTs project is going from strength to strength with new utilities partners and opportunities continuing to develop. If the pandemic gave us a moment to take stock, now we all have the chance to act on our resolutions and new energy. Last but not least, which challenge would you like to take on as CEO in the future?
Oceanco has for a number of years been looking into the development of alternative energy sources for yachting. I would love to see this take off in a significant way and for more Owners to feel comfortable that making a choice for sustainability can also be the best choice for their experience and lifestyle onboard. It very much feels like we are on to some exciting breakthroughs and that we can lead the way for a change where transport on water exists in harmony with nature. i. builtbyoceanco.com

FOCUS ON THE NETHERLANDS
Solving fresh engineering challenges
Sport fishing has attracted many new owners in recent decades, with larger boats growing to around 30m in length and a handful exceeding 40m. Against this backdrop, Project 406’s 52m is a serious step up, involving significant design and engineering challenges for her designers and builders at Vripack and Royal Huisman. It is, of course, a challenge that both are keen to take on. Royal Huisman CEO Jan Timmerman comments, “It is well known that the Royal Huisman team likes nothing better than the opportunity to solve fresh engineering challenges – especially if they come in the shape of a unique project concept. The world’s first true sport fish superyacht is a very exciting order and we are delighted to be unveiling it. It is good to know that our reputation as the home of the world’s finest sailing yachts is now expanding to embrace the world’s most distinctive motor yachts.” Sport fishing success requires passion, experience, and know-how as well as sophisticated onboard facilities and equipment. It is a global pursuit, focused on the larger predatory fish of the open seas, such as swordfish and marlin, that can be found in tropical waters all around the world. Project 406 will be brilliantly equipped to explore this fascinating seascape more than any sport fish yacht before her. The characteristic low, uncluttered aft cockpit is close to the water for easy access to gear and a clear sight of the catch. Seating immediately above will provide a superb platform to follow the action as it unfolds below.

Back to the future?
Royal Huisman’s CEO Jan Timmerman observes a pleasing symmetry in Project 406, “Some have commented that a sport fishing vessel – even one as exceptional as this – seems an unusual excursion for a shipyard best known for its magnificent ocean-going sailing yachts. But this is not so. Founded in 1884, our shipyard started its journey as a builder of wooden fishing boats and workboats – its core business for decades to follow. The general area where Project 406’s hull was turned, was once the shore of the ‘Zuiderzee’ inland sea, during Huisman’s
first 50 years. On the waters of this sea, Huisman-built fishing craft would operate in all weathers to prove their reliability. Reclaimed land, the Noordoostpolder, now occupies much of that sea area although a canal remains. But that connection with sturdy fishing vessels and the challenges of the sea will always be part of Royal Huisman’s DNA. We are proud and excited to be building a truly unique and exceptional stunning sport fish yacht that still resonates with the work of the shipyard’s founding fathers.” i. royalhuisman.com

New milestone
An important milestone in the creation of this truly exceptional superyacht was marked on 11 March of this year when the hull of this 52m luxury sport fish yacht was turned at Royal Huisman’s newbuild headquarters in Vollenhove, the Netherlands. Spectators were able to appreciate the long, sweeping bow, high bulwarks, and the clear outline of the fishing cockpit – all marking this yacht out as the most serious contender ever to be constructed in the specialist sport fish category. The project continues to grow into one of the most iconic yachts to ever be built and truly a team effort. Photo courtesy of Tom van Oossanen.

century of shipbuilding experience, traditional values of craftsmanship, the latest technologies and the finest equipment and fittings? These are the ingredients that make a Hakvoort yacht so special. Having mastered the entire building process in steel, aluminium and wood, the Royal Hakvoort shipyard is able to guarantee best in class quality. Hakvoort is situated in the historic and beautiful village of Monnickendam. Located on the shores of the IJsselmeer lake about 13km north of Amsterdam. Their facilities include two enclosed and temperature-controlled docking and construction halls. There is also a metal workshop, a dedicated office complex, and a large quayside operation. Around ninety highly experienced staff work at Hakvoort, supporting the building of superb yachts from design conception to launch.
Top Five II
In September of last year, Royal Hakvoort announced the delivery of their latest custom superyacht Top Five II. Known as Project 251 throughout her build, the 61m motor yacht departed the Netherlands on 2 September after completing sea trials on the North Sea in July. Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design undertook exterior and interior design with Diana Yacht Design responsible for her naval architecture. Top Five II was selected as a finalist for both the World Superyacht Awards and the Boat International Design and Innovation Awards. “The owner’s spent five years researching shipyards to build a new yacht. It was the charm and character of this small bespoke yard in the heart of the historic city of Monnickendam that drew them in, and they decided that this is where they can create something truly unique,” comments the owner’s representative. “The result has exceeded all of our expectations. We are exceptionally proud that Top Five II is the first Royal Hakvoort yacht delivered after receiving its Royal designation. The yacht is a culmination of their 101-year shipbuilding history as well as serving as the springboard for excellence for the next 100 years.”

The family-style open galley on the main deck is another unique talking point, providing a sociable yet practical and safe space for everyone on board to enjoy, while the built-in fire pit and cozy seating area on the sun deck is the perfect area to unwind after an action-packed day on the water. Throughout, Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design has created a clean and classic interior focusing on textures and natural materials to create a seamless flow. “Her interior is contemporary in style but not minimalistic,” explains Paul Costerus, Senior Designer & Partner at Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. “Many subtle details make the interior rich and desirable. The neutral material palette, outstanding marble selections and rich fabrics with some Japanese design influences create her character.”
Under construction
At the beginning of this year, the shipyard announced the signing of a new order for a 65m luxury displacement motoryacht, project YN254. This will be the largest project built by Hakvoort to date sold in close cooperation with Fraser for one of Fraser’s very loyal repeat clients. The interior and exterior will come from the drawing boards of Sinot Yacht Design. Naval architecture, construction and engineering design for this project will be by Diana Yacht Design. The 65m superyacht with wide beam of 11.6m and volume of 1,435GT will feature a carefully considered balance of indoor and outdoor spaces and is due for delivery in 2025. Her features include a large pool on the main deck surrounded by a huge
poolside lounge with bar, a large beach club with gym, sundeck with Jacuzzi and a massage room and library on the bridge deck. Accommodation is for fourteen guests in a fully private Owner’s deck, four main-deck guest suites and a large family apartment on the lower deck. Designed and built to go anywhere in the world, Project YN254 has also been conceived to place special attention on waste management and pollution prevention. Stay tuned for more news on project YN254! If you want to see more from the shipyard, Royal Hakvoort will exhibit at the Monaco Yacht Show held from 28 September to 1 October and at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show held from 26 October to 30 October.

A magical atmosphere
M/Y Resilience was penned by Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design and features naval architecture by the Palumbo Superyachts team.
The lighting scheme in the yacht was studied in great detail, and in this area it includes a lane of ceiling LED lights running symmetrically with respect to the central door, accompanying the view up to the back wall. The latter is formed by sinuous waves of teak and LEDs reflected onto the two stainless steel and glass plates of the ceiling, which is actually the floor of the main deck swimming pool. This solution allows light to filter through the water, creating beautiful patterns and a magical atmosphere, especially at night. The lower deck features four large guest cabins connected to the main deck by a circular staircase. This staircase runs between all decks and features a stunning glass jellyfish installation of various colours (designed by Arch. Gobbi and made by Preciosa) that accompanies the view to the sky. A tribute to the sea, this piece of art symbolises the vastness of the ocean and the harmony of shapes and movement and looks stunning when lit at night time.
Modern, refined, luxurious
The spiral staircase doubles as an art installation.
The beach club has three different accesses to the rest of the yacht: an external staircase from the aft deck, an internal staircase to the right of the massage area, and a scenic corridor running through a transparent glass enclosure which, crossing the engine room, directly

The central bed here is crowned by a custom-made chandelier, also made by Preciosa in crystal and polished chromed steel to a design by Enrico Gobbi. The materials used are evocative, like the brown Palissandro veneered furniture and the onyx tops that ascribe a modern, refined and very luxurious feel. Moving towards the stern, there is a seventh convertible staff cabin. The professional stainless-steel galley is located on the port side. Passing the lobby heading aft, it has a large main salon and dining room, with sizeable sofas and a 12-seater dining table. This area was designed with opening doors on all sides, so that when they are all open it can also form a contiguous part of the aft swimming pool area. The spectacular 6m long swimming pool located on the stern and equipped for counter-current swimming is certainly a scenographic element. The cockpit is completed by a large C-shaped sofa with coffee table and front sofa. The bridge deck forward hosts the

integrated bridge with separate radio room, the Captain’s cabin, and the sixth VIP cabin with private terrace. Continuing towards the stern there is a comfortable and very private Owner’s office, also provided with terrace and bathroom The external cockpit on the bridge deck is completed by large sunbeds and sofas, and also fitted for an incredible outdoor cinema, with a very wide flat screen hidden in the stern hardtop. The sundeck is certainly one of the most versatile areas on board Resilience, thanks to the articulated system of pocketing door openings that can either make this deck completely open, or close and air-conditioned in the mid-section for use in inclement or very hot weather. Above the main sundeck, Resilience has one further deck: the observatory deck. And last but not least, M/Y Resilience is available for charter through Edmiston. i. isayachts.com Sun deck.

ideoworks, within Miracle, is involved in the research and development of the MOHMI* project in the yacht sector. The goal is to develop a system to monitor a person’s emotions and use the home automation system to adapt their living environment and improve their comfort. Creating an interface model capable of reacting to a person’s emotions and behaviour: the Miracle-MOHMI project is testing it in the yacht environment thanks to a working prototype made by Videoworks.
Maximising comfort
The “MOHMI – smart multimedia MOnitoring systems for advanced HMI technologies in living environments” project aims to develop a home automation system, equipped with emotional intelligence, which can adapt its operation to the context it is used in, therefore maximising comfort and entertainment on board yachts. This system could also be used in hotels and homes.
>>
Using its ‘emotional intelligence’ system, the Miracle-MOHMI project aims to enhance a living environment and improve comfort.
The system can gather information relating to the user and the conditions of the environment thanks to an appropriate network of cameras and sensors.

“Thanks to the collaboration with UNIVPM, the Polytechnic University of the Marche Region, the company has had access to a series of resources, knowledge and advanced technologies, with the aim of creating a prototype that, in the future, can become an adapted and enriched product, to meet different needs”, says Maurizio Minossi, CTO of Videoworks. “This is essential for the company because our customers are very interested in the most innovative technological solutions, in which they look for uniqueness and customisation features. We have had the opportunity to establish relationships with other companies and research institutions and this could open up new future collaborations, in addition to the current project.”
How it works
This home automation system is able to identify the user, their emotional state and the activity they are carrying out, starting from the analysis of their behaviour within the environment. It does so through a system for recognising emotions and tracking and recognising body posture, based on computer vision and machine learning algorithms that have been developed specifically for this purpose. It can gather information relating to the user (emotions and activities carried out) and the conditions of the environment (lighting, temperature), thanks to an appropriate network of cameras and sensors. Based on the information acquired by analysing emotional states in a noninvasive way, the system is then able to modify the characteristics of the environment, in order to increase the well-being of the person and to improve the quality of the experience when interacting with the environment itself. i. videoworksgroup.com

Al Waab
As the longest steel and aluminium yacht below 500GT in the world, Al Waab is not only a milestone project for the Antalya-based shipyard, she also sets a new industry standard in terms of external and internal spaces for her category. ALL PHOTOS COURTESY OF ALIA YACHTS.

l Waab offers a whopping 42% more exterior space (including storage for two tenders) and 8% more interior space than comparable yachts on the market. “Yachts are getting longer and wider, but owners still want to stay below the 500GT mark”, says Alia President, Gökhan Çelik. “We’ve seen increasing interest in this kind of yacht and to be one of the first with such an impressive project is an important milestone for Alia.”
Easy, restful, family living
The amount of space and the flow of the layout were crucial to the owner’s enjoyment of his yacht. With design and naval architecture by Vripack and GCCbased SF Yachts serving as the owner’s representative during the build, maximising the available volume and guaranteeing comfort were key considerations. Virtual reality was used early on in the project to optimise

the space planning and ergonomic layout to create an open-plan, owner-centric general arrangement designed for easy, restful, family living. The yacht can hold up to twelve guests in six staterooms, which is rare on a 499GT yacht, including a lavish split-level master suite on the upper deck with a private 4m pool on the foredeck. A sprawling beach club in the stern is another highlight. Moreover, by placing the tender bay in a sunken deck in the bow the tenders are easily accessible yet hidden from view. The grated ‘tween deck arrangement provides storage for two tenders, a pair of jet skis and other water toys, but because it is not an enclosed space is not included in the yacht’s overall volume.
Seamless flow
The clean and modem exterior is matched by the contemporary yet evergreen interior design. The owner wanted to avoid bright direct light, hence the diffused lighting
throughout the vessel with soft, muted beams. Matt-finished bamboo slats on the ceiling helps to absorb the natural sunlight flooding through the large floor-to-ceiling windows by day. A key feature is the gold, illuminated wall installation with integrated crystals in the stairwell that covers all three decks. Glass is also a central element in the design. The result is uninterrupted sight lines and a seamless flow between interior and exterior spaces. Glass bulwarks on all decks provide uninterrupted outboard views and large outdoor areas for guests to enjoy the vistas in a private and comfortable setting. Other features include a drop-down bulwark in the dining area, which replaces the traditional formal dining room with an al fresco breakfast area just two metres above the water on the starboard main deck. Much of the onboard seating is designed to face outboard for a true connection with the sea. i. aliayachts.com

HS STEEL GROUP proudly announces that Dutch teak specialists MARRON YACHTBUILDERS & ECODECK are now part of the HS Steel Group, which also includes the Werkvreugde organization from Oss/ Echten, the Netherlands. Marron Yachtbuilders also attaches great importance to craftsmanship and passion when designing, producing and assembling prefab teak decks and other high-quality products. In addition, Marron Jachtbouw produces and installs prefab exterior ceilings at the highest level. This fits in seamlessly with the services provided by Werkvreugde, which designs and manufactures the best possible quality stainless steel products for superyacht building. Sharing the knowledge and joining forces, operating together in the superyacht building industry, makes this combination even more powerful.
ECODECK; thé sustainable alternative to teak An important product of Marron Jachtbouw is the self-developed M-EcoDeck, which has a great future in superyacht building. Because of the known scarcity of teak, this is a very nice recyclable and sustainable alternative with the right high-end appearance. M-EcoDeck is widely applicable in all designs, in various colors and plank widths, also as for example caprail, stair treads, skirting boards and exclusive wall panels.
