METRADE 2022 CMC Marine had a successful TrawlerFest Baltimore, the boat show dedicated to the numerous builders, owners and fans of trawlers and compact boats that are particularly suited to the STAB range of products in the company’s Waveless line of high-speed, ultra-compact electric fin stabilizers for boats 12m in length and over. The event, held from 29 September to 1 October, is hosted by PassageMaker magazine, which each year organises four small boat shows in different parts of the United States. The Italian company whose electrical products have revolutionised the yacht stabilization industry is attending numerous festivals, boat shows and sector events this year. i. cmcmarine.com
Project Orion Heesen is delighted to announce that the keel laying of YN 20750, Project Orion, took place on 14 September at the Oss shipyard, witnessed by the ABS surveyor. Like the constellation whose name she bears, Orion is distinctive, unmistakable, and sure to turn heads wherever she sails. At 50m overall, with a shallow draft and a sub-500 GT enclosed volume, Project Orion will be powered by Heesen’s hybrid propulsion system, which delivers the ultimate luxury in yachting: silent cruising. Heesen’s 50m FHDF series is not only ultra-quiet but also extremely fuel efficient.

First client for 4,300t ship lift Late September of this year, MB92 La Ciotat announced that its new 4,300t ship lift has successfully hauled out its first client, the 60m superyacht Bella Vita, built by Lürssen in 2010. The construction of the 4,300t facility, which can accommodate six superyachts simultaneously up to 115m in length, represents a total investment of EUR 47.6m for MB92 Group and was delivered on time despite multiple challenges from Covid-19 and supply chain issues. The expansions, managed alongside La Ciotat Shipyards over the past 30 months, brought together 80 companies and involved the tenacity and professionalism of hundreds of people to create one of the industry’s most technologically and environmentally innovative superyacht platforms.

METSTRADE 2022
Bigger and better We are looking forward to the next big trade show for the superyacht industry: Metstrade 2022. Being the world’s largest trade exhibition of leisure marine equipment, materials, and systems, Metstrade has been an unrivalled global platform for innovation, market developments and networking since 1988. Additional to its core themes, Metstrade includes three dedicated specialist areas: superyacht, marina & shipyard, and construction material. ALL PHOTOS COURTESY OF METSTRADE.

rogressing its programme of continuous refinement, Metstrade 2022 will feature significant improvements to its layout. Following a one-off adjusted pandemic edition last year, Metstrade 2022 will be strengthening its position as the must-not-miss world’s largest leisure marine B2B exhibition and global networking hub from 15 to 17 November at RAI Amsterdam. Early indicators for 2022 were very positive, with 96% of visitors and 90% of exhibitors declaring their intention to return. Marine industry associations are experiencing significant uptake for national pavilions, and Metstrade is receiving many first-time applications, particularly from electric propulsion and electronics companies.
More space, more focus, enhanced visitor experience
Reflecting on the crucial role of this year’s show, Niels Klarenbeek, Director Metstrade, says, “The industry is eager to be back at the world’s largest B2B leisure marine industry event after an extraordinary 2021 edition. We have created a balanced layout with key points of interest in every hall in close cooperation with our partners such as

ICOMIA and the Exhibition Committee. This allows us to accommodate Metstrade’s growth with more exhibitors, more space, more focus, and an enhanced visitor experience. We cannot wait to see everyone return to Amsterdam in November.” Commenting on Metstrade’s plans for a strong return, Udo Kleinitz, Secretary General of industry body ICOMIA states, “Following the pandemic’s challenges, key industry stakeholders and associations are telling us it is more pivotal than ever for suppliers and buyers to connect with their industry peers. Metstrade is the leading platform for leisure marine professionals wanting to stay relevant and up to date in the industry. With the entire sector present from across the full supply chain, it is the best place to source, connect and learn to help your business grow.”

The DAME provides a unique and universally recognised benchmark for the whole marine equipment industry. It does so by highlighting the merits of excellent design in all its many facets, from aesthetics, functionality, and innovation, through to integration, practicality of use, price to performance ratio and presentation. With Metstrade’s strong focus on sustainability, entrants must also explain how environmental impact reduction has been considered across the whole product design. Entries will be judged across seven categories spanning the sectors represented at Metstrade before an eventual winner is chosen. The assessment will be made by an experienced Jury of eight comprising leading boat, interior, and industrial designers, as well as user experts. Renowned yacht designer, Andre Hoek, will chair the Jury.

T
he collaboration between A&R and Valentin Design Sur Mesure is built on common values like honesty, humility, and hard work. Trust is an essential element that creates the space for innovation to flourish. And a mutual passion for quality craftsmanship makes the difference between a good design and a great design. According to A&R, a harmonious partnership takes time to develop and leads to the creation of the best possible yachts for their clients. Bjorn Benecke, Sales Manager at A&R, adds, “Experience meets innovation to create excellence.”
The reason
The decision to create an 86m explorer yacht was based on A&R’s partnership potential. A connection was established between the shipyard’s sales team and the leadership of Switzerland’s only highprofile yacht design studio, and both parties joined efforts in early 2021. By defining a vision aligned to today’s demands for out of the ordinary explorer yachts during a common kick-off meeting in the shipyard’s headquarters in Lemwerder, Germany, the project set sail.
“Experience meets innovation to create excellence.” Bjorn Benecke – Sales Manager at A&R.
For each partner, open communication based on trust was key to ensure each party’s experiences and strengths went into the common effort. Designing in total harmony means that the result is not only beautiful, but gets the maximum out of available volumes, brings engineering solutions to design features, introduces cost efficient detail solutions and guarantees the calculability of each and every aspect of Time.

Here, the colours are darker with a central interior fire pit, a wine cellar and tinted glass. A corridor leads to a ‘sports club’ amidships with a pool table at the centre. In addition to Time’s explorer credentials, the model will be powered by a dieselelectric propulsion system and POD drives delivering a range of 5,000nm. Other highlights include a large outdoor dining area on the bridge deck, a sundeck cinema and a crow’s nest. i. abeking.com

without the least fuss or drama. WING 100 has been conceived not only to appeal to sailing yacht owners, but to provide the perfect cross-over for motor yacht owners who want to minimise their environmental footprint by reducing the weight of their yacht but retain the highest standards of amenity and comfort.
The innovative, aluminium-hulled WING 100 is a true sailing yacht – not a heavy sail assisted motor yacht – yet one with an important difference. She can be easily and securely handled and quickly deployed

These benefits – and many others – arise because WING 100 is no ‘normal’ supersized sailing yacht: she has a highly
advanced rig by Rondal. The wing masts have airfoil profiles; are free standing, and rotate to provide very powerful, integrated airfoils with the sails. The shape of the airfoil can easily and remotely be adjusted to maximise or reduce power. Being freestanding, the wing masts have no standing rigging or associated deck clutter, maximising safe, clean amenity space on deck. The wing masts are easily and safely remote-controlled to ensure fast, energyefficient sailing, providing a comfortable experience for all onboard.

The combination of the concept’s pioneering board systems and advanced wing mast rig, alone, qualifies WING 100 as a defining breakthrough in mega yacht design.
To put the WING 100 concept into perspective: she is a true sailing yacht that will properly earn her ranking among the world’s top ten sailing yachts, along with Royal Huisman builds Athena and Sea Eagle II; soon to be joined by the exciting new 85m New World Sloop, Project 410, currently under construction in Vollenhove. The supersized and highly innovative WING 100 would not only be a top-tier yacht in this elite group but would also become the acknowledged pioneer among the even more prestigious ‘true’ supersized sailing yachts.

A defining breakthrough in mega yacht design
Royal Huisman is the only shipyard in the world with the expertise, infrastructure and continued technological evolution required to build the largest and most advanced of the top ten true sailing yachts.
The range of new technologies applied by the shipyard to maximise the energy efficiency of WING 100 will bring substantial advantages to the owner – and not just while exploring the outer corners of our vulnerable planet.

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN fourth and largest Royal Huisman build yet in the global top 10 of supersized sailing yachts.”
Who could build such a ground-breaking superyacht? If there is one shipyard capable of delivering a break-through sailing yacht on this scale with such advanced green technologies, it is Royal Huisman. They have pioneered and developed energysaving and green energy systems over many years and projects. Royal Huisman built the world’s first truly hybrid sailing yacht in 2009. From that industry milestone onwards, energy efficiency and hybrid systems have defined the way the shipyard thinks, investing in each new project with valuable new advances. These ‘technology investments’ aren’t limited to new constructions: yachts built by the shipyard twenty or even thirty years ago are now returning for next-generation, energy-efficient, refits.

“The emergence of sailing yachts on this scale, with the level of energy efficiency and eco-responsibility offered by WING 100, would have been unthinkable just a decade ago.”
Is the rig a challenge? Not for Royal Huisman, whose sister company Rondal is the world’s leading manufacturer of very large composite masts and integrated sail management systems. The Royal Huisman Group’s ambition, innovation power, and expertise in meeting the exciting challenges of building very large sailing yachts has already secured global top ten rankings for Athena and Sea Eagle II, with Project 410 soon to follow. In the capable hands of the Royal Huisman team, the successful completion and delivery of WING 100, as their fourth and largest contribution to the global sailing mega yacht elite, is not in question. i. royalhuisman.com

The combination of the concept’s pioneering board systems and advanced wing mast rig, alone, qualifies WING 100 as a defining breakthrough in mega yacht design. A host of additional smart refinements ensure that WING 100 can also claim distinction as the world’s most innovative sailing yacht – a role model for the industry. And that is why this significant project stands to benefit the whole planet. WING 100 offers the perfect platform for a visionary owner looking to minimise footprint. The concept is well advanced towards fully sustainable
technology and Royal Huisman expertise is on hand to ensure the owner realises the full potential of his or her dreams. “The emergence of sailing yachts on this scale, with the level of energy efficiency and eco-responsibility offered by WING 100, would have been unthinkable just a decade ago”, comments Royal Huisman CEO Jan Timmerman. “The team is incredibly excited to be at the forefront of this conceptual revolution. MONACO YACHT SHOW 2022
In this article I would like to put a couple of yacht builders that attended the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 in the spotlight. Here are some major players of the superyachting industry and how they made a lasting impression during the Monaco Yacht Show.
Amels
Prior to the Monaco Yacht Show, the Damen Yachting team proudly confirmed a unique Amels line-up during the show. Three of their latest deliveries, which together represent their complete Amels portfolio, have been on display at the show for their industry debuts. The first Amels 60 – Come Together, their latest and exclusive Amels Full Custom – Energy, and the awardwinning and largest Amels Refit to date, Here Comes The Sun.
Come Together
I was welcomed aboard Come Together by the Amels team and the Captain of this magnificent yacht for a tastefully and well-organised press event and tour during the Monaco Yacht Show and the grandiosity of this robust and luxurious superyacht literally left me speechless. After a presentation about the Amels brand, the vision, and the direction that the superyacht builder is heading towards, the Captain took us for a tour to get a closer look and feel of what Come Together is all about. This first Amels 60 with hybrid power and propulsion technology has an Espen Øino exterior design. The yacht was delivered in the spring of 2022. It is not only the Espen Øino exterior that is shaping up. Winch Design was appointed to create the bespoke interiors. Come Together has a relaxed interior while maintaining a masculine edge. Robust shapes are mixed with playful elements, like the guitar in the skylounge, which speaks to the yacht’s Beatles-influenced name. Base materials include Jerusalem limestone, light bleached matte oak, light-tone

The design has been tailored to replicate ‘a relaxed family home on the water’, according to a representative from Winch. “For the most part, we have used pure and natural materials to emphasise the relaxed ‘home at the beach’ spirit of the interior. However, we have also added layers of surface interest to materials such as stones

Following the success achieved at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Benetti has participated with two premières at the 31st edition of the Monaco Yacht Show of this year. The most significant models of the Shipyard were presented to the market in Monaco and important novelties have been anticipated during the Press Conference that took place on Thursday, September 29th, at the Hermitage Hotel. The Shipyard presented the new B.Now 50m MY Iryna and Custom 65m MY Triumph during the show. MY Iryna, the first unit of the B.Now 50m, combines modernity, innovation and functionality, inaugurating a range that includes, in addition to the 50m, three models of 60, 67 and 72m. Feadship
This year, iconic Dutch yacht builder Feadship welcomed everyone at their festive stand at the Monaco Yacht Show once again with their usual treats, including the latest PILOT magazine, and an exciting all-new Concept design. As always, there were Feadships berthed in and around the iconic harbour in Monaco and Feadship had the 55m Somnium on display showcasing an interior by FM Architeturra. This fully custom Feadship was delivered late in 2021 and has been cruising ever since. On-board tours of this family-friendly masterpiece were available by appointment only, but the Feadship stand was open to all.

Benetti which, together with the RWD design studio, responsible for the exteriors, shares the desire to break the mould of classic yacht design to create new paradigms. The external lines, in a visual harmony of the decks from stern to bow, develop in constant contact with the sea. B.Now 50m MY Iryna focuses on the haut de gamme quality of life on board; almost half of the living area is external and the interiors, which can be totally customised, represent the tradition of Benetti’s high craftsmanship.
Triumph
Custom 65M MY Triumph, another superyacht that I was able to get a tour on during the Monaco Yacht Show, is one of the most recent megayachts launched by Benetti. Developed over 65m in length, it features
five enclosed decks plus a Sundeck extending in an extremely balanced ratio between volumes and length. The sleek, sculpted exterior lines are the work of Cassetta Yacht Designers, Benetti’s style office took care of the interiors and the Green & Mingarelli Design studio handled the decoration. Triumph offers high hull efficiency and ensures quiet sailing for long-range travel in maximum comfort. The Monaco International Boat Show was also the occasion to present Diamond 44m Emuna, flagship of the Class category; a yacht characterised by imposing and solemn external lines, designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta, which are matched by spacious interiors with a contemporary atmosphere, designed by Benetti’s Interior Style Department.

Feadship has also unveiled its latest 85m superyacht concept during the Monaco Yacht Show. Named Slice, the design marks the eleventh concept ever presented by the shipyard and builds on extensive research and discussions with owners, designers and architects. The initial concept is the work of Studio de Voogt. Key to the yacht’s design is a long strip of glazing that runs entirely from bow to stern, allowing for natural light to filter in through multiple decks. Slice “turns the inside out and the outside in,” according to Studio De Voogt’s Lead Designer Chris Bottoms and Head of Design Tanno Weeda.
Thank you Monaco!
These, of course, were only a couple of yacht builders among the many that made the Monaco Yacht Show one to remember. And let’s not forget all the suppliers and designers behind the masterpieces. Each company forms a piece of the puzzle, and together they form one team, making superyacht dreams come to life. All in all, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss the Monaco Yacht Show of 2022. I was inspired and amazed by the enthusiastic people behind all of these amazing yachts that were on display. The atmosphere was sublime. See you next year! i. amelsyachting.com i. benettiyachts.it i. feadship.nl

FOCUS ON THE NETHERLANDS
Jumping ship with EcoDeck® Swedish yacht builder Hallberg-Rassy will be offering yachts with EcoDeck® for the first time this year. At the beginning of May, the renowned Swedish shipyard announced that there is another option available for the deck now, in addition to teak: EcoDeck®.
E
coDeck® is an alternative for teak of a synthetic material, manufactured by the Dutch company EcoDeck B.V. It mostly has the same properties as teak, but is easier to maintain.

Hallberg-Rassy has always been known for quality, so the fact that they are now partly moving away from their beloved teak is a remarkable turn of events. The company describes itself as a ‘hardcore teak fan’ and,
until now, did not offer an alternative deck material. So why are the Swedes opting for a different option now, made from polyurethane resin?

Besides the fact that the current price of teak has risen to around EUR 30,000 per m3 and that it is very difficult to aqcuire, there has been increasing interest in a more environmentally-friendly alternative in the recent years. Nowadays, people are thinking more about sustainability. What exactly is EcoDeck®? Erik Apeldoorn, Director at EcoDeck B.V. passionate sailor, explains that EcoDeck® developed this product nine years ago as a synthetic replacement for teak. Mr Apeldoorn shares, “The properties of

EcoDeck® are very close to teak, but it has a longer lifespan. It is non-slip, UV- and heatresistant, and can be machined like wood. It can also be supplied in plate and cast form, which makes it also suitable for use in handrails for example. This is how EcoDeck® distinguishes itself from the competition.” From 1 May, EcoDeck® will be offered as standard ship equipment for Hallberg-Rassy sailing yachts. “We are proud that we can now manufacture and supply decks for the high-quality HallbergRassy sailing yachts”, says Mr Apeldoorn.
Deforestation
EcoDeck B.V. has noticed an increasing interest from the market. Some yards, such as Vitters Shipyard, now also use Iroko. Iroko comes from the Milicia regia tree of West Africa and is also known as the African teak. Teak trade has created a deforestation area the size of Belgium in Myanmar in the recent years. Teak is also harvested in Indonesia. Even though teak wood is certified, the EU-Commission has indicated that the import cannot comply with European timber regulations because it often involves illegal logging and corrupt trade. Smuggling routes via Croatia and

Using another type of wood, such as Iroko, now seems a good option because there is still a lot of it.
Italy are often used where controls are less strict to import the precious wood.
Problem shifting?
Using another type of wood, such as Iroko, now seems a good option because there is still a lot of it. However, this hardwood comes from tropical West Africa. Whether this will later cause the same problems as with the teak industry remains to be seen. EcoDeck®, on the other hand, is not ‘natural’ but is produced in the Netherlands and can be recycled into other products. Hallberg-Rassy is not the first yacht builder to (partially) switch to EcoDeck®. A synthetic replacement for teak has been available since the 1990s and is regularly used on both existing and new boats. i. m-ecodeck.com

During my visit at the Monaco Yacht Show, I had the pleasure to finally meet the List General Contractor team in person. After almost two years of exchanging emails and digitally contacting each other to create interesting new articles for SuperYacht Industry together, I met up with Rainer J Sommer, Head of Marketing at List GC and Managing Directors Christian Bolinger and Josef Payerhofer at their impressive stand for a press event where they shared some great updates that will take the company to new and exciting heights.
A
t a tastefully and well-organised event, the gentlemen announced that List GC, the international market leader for interior+ outfitting of luxury yachts and private residences, is expanding and joining forces with the German joinery company, Cohrs. Both companies are united by a long tradition as regionally rooted family businesses as well as their passion for exceptional craftsmanship.
against the shortage of skilled workers. “The merger with Cohrs in Bad Fallingbostel not only increases our production capacity by 4,500m2, but also provides us with an additional 45 highly trained and specialised professionals”,
emphasises List GC Managing Director Josef Payerhofer. Even still, the company is continuing to build up its staff at its own site in Austria: with currently 280 employees in Bad Erlach, of which around 100 are craftsmen, List GC is one of

Takeover on equal footing
Cohrs Werkstätten GmbH is a fifthgeneration family-run carpentry company and, like List GC, is a luxury interior outfitter for yachts and residences. The company is based in Bad Fallingbostel in the north of Germany, within the triangle of Hamburg, Hanover and Bremen. The fact that the succession by List GC is a takeover on an equal footing is also something that is emphasised by the current Managing Director at Cohrs, Kurt-Heinrich Cohrs, “We don’t just share the same values as a down-to-earth family business with List GC, but also the highest demands on state-of-the-art craftsmanship. This is why we’re so pleased to have found in List GC the perfect successor for our traditional company with 45 employees. The name ‘Cohrs’ will continue until further notice and Kurt-Heinrich Cohrs will also continue to hold his position as Managing Director in the coming years. Theresa Ludwiger-List, managing Director at List GC adds, “As a family member and Managing Director, I’m particularly pleased that we can secure the succession of Cohrs Werkstätten with this acquisition and at the same time take another important step in expanding List GC. With Kurt-Heinrich Cohrs, we have the right partner on board for this.”

About Cohrs Werkstätten Cohrs Werkstätten GmbH is a fifth-generation family-run company and stands for professional competence, modern management, environmentally-friendly production and teamwork. The Cohrs joinery was first mentioned by name as early as 1836. The official founding year of the traditional company was 1881, when the then owner Heinrich Cohrs started the family business in the Lower Saxon town of Fahrenholz. In 1933, the company moved to its current location in Bad Fallingbostel. Cohrs Werkstätten GmbH has existed in its current legal form since 2003. FOCUS ON GERMANY
The course towards the greenest superyachts Just one year after the official launch of Meyer Yachts at the Monaco Yacht Show 2021, the brand continues to pursue its course towards green yachts and now already unveiled a second spectacular yacht concept at the Monaco Yacht Show of 2022: the TWO10 – a 210m project. Like the ONE50, the TWO10 will feature sustainable propulsion solutions to meet the claim of Meyer Yachts to build the greenest superyachts in the world. ALL IMAGES COURTESY OF MEYER YACHTS.
T
he profile of the TWO10 is kept flat; however, a look at the decks illustrates the yacht’s enormous size. Technically, the TWO10, like the ONE50, relies on green propulsion solutions, for example with fuel cells and battery systems. “Here we show once again what innovations Meyer Yachts is capable of. We design our concepts in such a way that we can also make them a reality in this form. This makes our yachts technology pioneers from which many other types of ships and people will also benefit,” explains Managing Director Jan Meyer.
Design and features
The entire design of the TWO10 focused on novel solutions. In perspective, drones can also be used for passenger transport on the helipad in the bow area and charged directly on board with the green electricity generated onboard. Thanks to the generous space available, there is also room for a complete tennis court, which is fenced in by a fine-mesh net during play. The TWO10’s other features include a beach club that extends over two decks and has an infinity pool suspended virtually above the bar. Towards stern

swimming guests look thereby by the largest disk, which was ever used also a yacht. Lars Kruse, Head of Sales of Meyer Yachts, “The TWO10 illustrates the capacities of the Meyer Group in every respect. We are currently very satisfied with the response to our yachting activities.” That is why the Meyer Yachts team is now set to grow. “We have already made the first year of Meyer Yachts very successful with a powerful pioneer team. Now we will further expand our yachting knowhow and greatly enlarge the team for this purpose,” announces Malte Poelmann, Chief Technology Officer of the Meyer Group.
A look inside the ONE50
With the ONE50, Meyer Yachts presented an exciting exterior concept for the first time and the company has now unveiled the first interior views at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show. The features of the 150m long yacht appear futuristic but can be implemented without exception thanks to the technical expertise of the Meyer Group and its 1300 engineers. In the foreship of the vessel, for example, there is a spa area over two levels and several hundred square metres of floor space, which is unparalleled in yachting. The equipment includes a retractable whirlpool on the starboard side, a climbing wall connecting both decks, a fireplace and a wellness bar. Of course saunas and hammams, as well as a massage parlour, are also part of the layout. Lars Kruse comments, “The wellness and health aspect has been a trend in the superyacht segment for years. With this extravagant spa, we want to set an example and show what is possible for us.” The ONE50 presents itself no less spectacularly on the top deck, which is reserved for the owner alone. In the forward section of the superstructure, the owner can practically step straight out of bed into the pool, which is designed as an indoor-outdoor variant and connects the suite with the foredeck. Aft, the owner then has access to a private lounge with TV and audio system as well as very private dining areas. i. meyeryachts.com The TWO10 was unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show of 2022 at the festive stand of Meyer Yachts.

Lighting up the Monaco Yacht Show With 25 years of experience and hundreds of innovative audio/video, entertainment, IT and lighting & comfort systems installed on board superyachts sailing around the world, this year Videoworks exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show once again, with a considerable number of new items and products. M
ore and more advanced audio/ video systems and an increasingly efficient on-board network are two among the key demands of today’s owners and guests. The new products presented by Videoworks confirm their ability to continue innovating and responding proactively to this growing demand.
Staying connected
Staying connected even when routes lead to open waters is increasingly a requirement of all owners and their guests. Surfing on social networks and being able to access video-on-demand streaming
platforms (to enjoy a film in high resolution) are pleasures that are difficult to give up, especially if you are on vacation. But it is not just entertainment: often an efficient connection can prove essential when organising a business web conference, which means not having to cut your holiday short. Thanks to the Videoworks partnership with OneWeb, it is possible to enter a new dimension that guarantees continuous, efficient and fast connection (more than five times higher than the current systems) that is also better value for money. The Internet connection system with LEO
(Low Earth Orbit) satellites ensures a latestgeneration Internet browsing experience on board, both in terms of speed and latency. This is why full use of IP TV and streaming services is guaranteed and why, even out in open waters, the internet connection will be very similar to the connection guaranteed by 5G technology along the coast. This solution, presented by OneWeb, is the most recent frontier of connection possibilities. During the joint press conference at MYS 2022, the new system was explained, with more information provided on individual features.

equipment onboard. This advantage in economic terms but, above all, in terms of autonomy, has a double objective: to improve the quality of life on board and at the same time avoid energy waste.
Lighting innovations
Among the trends encountered with increasing frequency among owners, there is undoubtedly the desire to organise entertainment events on board, right up to disco-like settings, with the option of creating high-impact lighting patterns such as pixelated RGBW LED strips. With Videoworks systems, colours and patterns can change in time with the music.
The Internet connection system with LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellites ensures a latest-generation Internet browsing experience on board, both in terms of speed and latency.
Comfort, energy saving, and privacy
The stand at the Monaco Yacht Show is equipped with presence detectors and energy meters that are the basis of a smart system, which allows the profiling of the owner’s and guests’ habits and needs. This is particularly important for chartered vessels, to ensure that the spaces are suitable to the different users’ requirements.
4 4 | S Y I 2 0 2 2 | Volum e 17 | Issue 4
Videoworks.indd 44
To guarantee maximum privacy, Videoworks has decided to use sensors and Bluetooth LE technology, which allow the identification of people via smartphone, making cameras on board unnecessary. The potential of artificial intelligence does not stop at these two important features, but also achieves significant energy savings, thanks to the optimisation of the use of lights, the temperature of the rooms, the air conditioning and all the other
A part of the stand has therefore been dedicated to a setting inspired by the ‘disco’ environment, which is a novelty in the lighting field and can be adapted and used in various ways, e.g. architectural applications in step with the circadian rhythm, based on the cyclical variations that involve every day biological activities. Here is yet another example of how nothing is left to chance in the Videoworks design philosophy, which aims at always providing fully customisable solutions to match owner preferences. i. videoworksgroup.com

Worldw de Serv ce & Warranty
Welcome aboard Making the stay onboard an unforgettable experience calls for creative and innovative developments. From the yacht’s architecture to the engineering to the interior design, specialists develop an integrated concept that pursues this very aim. The Raxofix Viega piping system, perfectly tailored to the yacht’s construction, guarantees the reliable transport and efficient distribution of potable water and electrical power. A key advantage: Wet rooms and cabin elements can
be pre-fabricated with Raxofix for quick, easy and reliable installation in the yacht later using lightweight plastic pipes – no need for sealing elements. This saves on weight and ensures efficiency. Small dimensions and a low water volume guarantee good drinking water hygiene. The Viega Visign flush plates, with their ultra-modern look and intelligent technology, add a designer touch to the bathroom. The touchless flush technology guarantees the best possible hygiene. Viega is an exclusive partner. For a comfortable time onboard.
