PEOPLE Appointment at Wallem Group Wallem Group has appointed Alastair Marsh to its Board of Directors. Mr Marsh joins with over fifteen years of experience in the maritime industry and over 30 years working in senior positions within various businesses. Most recently, Mr Marsh held the position of CEO at Lloyd’s Register, where he was integral to the development and execution of the corporate strategy, with a particular focus on growth, digital transformation and customer interaction. Mr Marsh is a graduate in Business Studies & Accounting from The University of Edinburgh and studied at The Wharton Business School. He is a qualified chartered accountant.

Appointment at Azimut Daniele Romiti has joined Azimut as General Manager of the Azimut brand, reporting directly to Group CEO Marco Valle. Mr Romiti has spent much of his career as an aeronautical engineer in Agusta Westland, a world-leading designer and builder of helicopters for various uses and lines of business. At Agusta, Mr Romiti held positions of increasing responsibility in the technical and operations field before becoming Chief Operating Officer and finally CEO, during which time he oversaw the company’s integration with Leonardo, where he was Managing Director of the Helicopters Division.

Daniele Torretta Sales Manager
Vetus, the global innovation company for complete marine product systems, has appointed Daniele Torretta as Sales Manager for Northern Italy in a move that will enable it to be even more pro-active with original equipment manufacturers and key clients in this key market. Most recently Sales Manager Marine Pleasure Yacht Sector Italy for Twin Disc working with all main Italian boat builders, Mr Torretta was earlier Senior Sales Manager for RTN for more than thirteen years and was, among other things, in charge of the launch of the marine propulsion system Fortjes by Reintjes and of the innovative hybrid propulsion system Auxilia by RTN.

In a newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer, Jeff Webber will be responsible for driving forward Barton Marine Equipment’s marine and industrial positions globally. Working with the sales department, Mr Webber will aid cooperation and building ever closer partnerships with current and developing accounts, alongside assisting with product development, and marketing strategies. Decades ago, Mr Webber bought a van and made his living selling second hand chandlery at boat jumbles across the UK. With an ingrained desire to succeed, he established, expanded and sold the renowned One Stop Chandlery in Maldon, Essex, UK.
Giovanni Pomati, Nautor Group CEO, recently announced the appointment of Fabio Marcellino as Power Boats Chief Technical & Operations Officer at Nautor Group. Mr Marcellino spent eleven years in the Ferretti Group as Project Manager for Ferretti Yachts and Custom Line’s brand new models and then Product Manager. He afterwards joined Bavaria Yachts and he spent last four years as New Products Development Director for Bluegame. At Nautor Swan, Mr Marcellino will have responsibility for the development process of power boats from conception to market launch as well as product management thereafter.

Lisa Edvardsen Haugan has been appointed as the new President of Kongsberg Maritime, the largest business area of Kongsberg. She takes the helm after Egil Haugsdal. Ms Edvardsen Haugan has long and extensive experience from both the defence and civil business area in Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (Kongsberg), including having been EVP Finance at Kongsberg Maritime and Finance Director at Kongsberg Protech Systems. She currently heads the Deck Machinery & Motion Control division of Kongsberg Maritime. Ms Edvardsen Haugan has played a significant role in the integration and restructuring of Commercial Marine.

Dr Andreas Strecker will join Power Systems as Chief Financial Officer from 1 December 2022. Mr Stratmann, who holds a doctorate in industrial engineering, was most recently CEO and chairman of the executive board of the automotive supplier Mahle. In this role, he significantly expanded the business outside
the area of combustion engines towards customised solutions for e-mobility and successfully developed new business opportunities based on sustainable technologies for global markets. Mr Strecker has extensive experience in the financial management of international corporations, primarily in the automotive and industrial sectors. Most recently, he was President Europe & Asia at Accuride Wheels.
