CONSTRUCTION
Construction Why choose Construction at Loughborough? Our construction courses provide you with the knowledge and skills in technology, management, processes and commerce to succeed in industry. These sponsored courses offer an excellent education for future managers of construction projects. They strongly emphasise personal and professional skills, making our graduates very attractive to employers.
Industry focus Our unique courses were created in response to specific requests from industry to fill crucial roles in the sector. Our links with industry are strong, with regular lectures from senior industry staff and input into course content. Many of our alumni now hold senior positions in the companies that sponsor our students and provide placement and graduate opportunities.
Placement year The industrial placement year is an integral part of these courses, providing practical experience in applying what has been learnt at University into real world situations. The Loughborough Construction Consortium provides a core of sponsoring organisations that offer excellent placement and sponsorship opportunities, supplemented by extensive collaborating organisations across the wider construction sector. The year in industry can provide many benefits. Placement students earn a salary, typically over £16,500 per annum, and many are offered a permanent job with their host company when they graduate. Our students gain an additional award, a Diploma in Industrial Studies (DIS) alongside their degree qualification.
