Editor’s Note 编者的话 We have been blessed with such a delightful Summer in the UK this year. As visitors from all around the world are pouring into London to experience this fine British Summer, we are here to present you a great read of this late Summer season.

First off, do you know that the concept of “picnic” has been around for over 600 years? It dates back to the medieval hunting feasts in late 14th century in France and England. However, there have been a lot of changes since then. Nowadays, picnicking can be quite luxurious, and it is an event that you should definitely experience.

In this edition, we are covering one of the World’s top 3 classic car shows, Salon Privé, which will take place at the majestic Blenheim Palace. We are

pleased to have gained an exclusive interview with its founder David Bagley on the 10th anniversary of this beautiful event.

In addition, we have conducted a first-hand interview with Veuve Clicquot World’s Best Female Chef 2015, Madame Hélène Darroze, and her secret of success. Furthermore, we have also entered the world of The Ledbury, No. 20 of the World's 50 Best Restaurants 2015, where its Head Chef Mr. Brett Graham has offered us his successful story and unique recipes.

Origin of Picnic “Picnic” is a word of French origin. It is the combination of a verb (piquer) and a noun (nique), meaning “to pick” and “small delicacy”.

The earliest picnics in England and France can be traced back to the medieval hunting feasts in 14th century. But the English term only came to be used generally until 18th century.

Picnic was once an aristocratic practice among the wealthy hunters and country people while they were out on their estates. Before the hunt, people would gather outdoors to enjoy some pastries, hams and baked meats. By then, individual items such as pork pies were very popular among hunters as they could easily be slipped into a pocket. Later on, the Victorians popularised the picnic. And this kind of social event was adopted by writers like Dickens and Jane Austen in their books.

As for the word “hamper”, it is also derived from an old French word, hanapier, meaning a case for goblets. Originally, picnic hampers started off as travellers’ baskets in 18th century. By the early Victorian period, luxury hampers included raised pies, the Scotch eggs, boned and sliced chickens, English cheeses, bread baked goods and fruit cake.

For the modern kind of picnic, it is up to individuals to choose a style and taste they prefer.

Food blogger, Georgina Ingham in BBC food defined different picnic styles as follows:

There is no strict etiquette of picnic nowadays. However, in mid-19th century when picnic began to become popular in Britain, picnic called for its own proper behaviour. The food for eating and the activities to be pursued at a Victorian picnic were supposed to illustrate one's good breeding.

Exemplification of a Real Gentleman Rules and rituals of picnic were comprehensively described in etiquette manuals of the day.

Surprisingly, the Victorian picnic showed us the good deeds of a real gentleman which modern man can make reference to.

It was particularly a pleasure for Victorian ladies at picnics as most of the customs counted on gentlemen. According to the etiquette manuals, gentlemen were instructed to forgo their own needs and consent to become the waiters, guides and servants to the ladies. Gentlemen must perform any feats to suit a lady’s fancy even if she desired a lovely flower at an impossible-to-get-at place. Besides, each gentleman should endeavour to do his utmost to be amusing and entertaining.

Once the last bite of pie or cake was eaten, should a gentleman have musical talent and have an instrument with him, he should start to perform.

While most of us play frisbee during modern picnic, author Daphne Dale stipulated in the 1891 etiquette manual “Our Manners and Social Customs”, that the picnic meal must be followed by group singing, the playing of musical instruments or the telling of amusing stories.

Before the end of a fine day, one etiquette manual suggests, it is pleasant to have a 5 o’clock tea before starting home.

There was a proper dress code in the old days especially for women. The Victorian picnic attire included long-sleeved blouses, ankle-length skirts, a broad-brimmed straw hat, flat-heeled boots, gloves and a parasol.

Nowadays we no longer dress up as Victorians for picnic, but clothing is always exquisite to British people. British country clothing is the choice of outfit when taking part in outdoor activities such as equestrian pursuits, shooting, fishing and picnics.

Some guidelines on what to wear are based on practicality, clothes should be appropriate for the weather and outdoor activities. For example: A woman would not wear very high heels and a short tight skirt to a Sunday lunch which may include a walk. Instead she might wear jeans with a shirt or jumper; Men wear brown rather than black shoes as black is perceived as a city colour; Outdoor weatherproof jackets are worn in preference to woolen overcoats; A pair of boots or walking shoes are preferred in the suburbs. The most common forms of footwear are wellington boots; Flat caps are the traditional hat wear of country clothing for men.

Last but not least about British country clothing is tweed. This material has long been associated with the British countryside, whereas tweed suits have been an icon of the British country gentleman and lady. Tweed uses natural colours to blend into the natural environment. It provides a practical but also smart-casual style.

Salisbury Cathedral is extremely proud to be home to the finest of the four surviving original 1215 Magna Carta. Wiltshire is taking a leading role in the 2015 celebrations which mark the 800th anniversary of the historic and iconic document.

Salisbury Cathedral has recently opened a new display presenting the Magna Carta in the Chapter House, safeguarding the document for the future.

Today, Visitors experience Stonehenge as a wonder of ancient achievement and an enduring symbol of mystery. Actually Stonehenge was built as a temple – a place of ceremony, of burial and celebration. The first Stonehenge was simple – just a circular ditch and bank. Perhaps with a few small upright timber posts or stones – and was constructed about 5,000 years ago, in the period of prehistory known as the Neolithic or New Stone Age. Stonehenge lies at the centre of a landscape so rich in prehistoric remains that it was listed as a World Heritage Site. In fact, there are burial mounds (long barrows) and elongated earthwork enclosures (cursus monuments) that dated back from the time before Stonehenge.

A new Visitor Centre has recently been built 1.5 miles to the east at the edge of the World Heritage Site, providing parking, a shop, a café, educational facilities and exhibition on Stonehenge and its landscape. Moreover, the £27 million English Heritage project has transformed the way people interact with and learn about Stonehenge – with 2 new exhibition spaces, 5 Neolithic houses and innovative audio and visual presentation, trying to bring the site’s unique 5,000 year history back to life.

Neolithic House 茅房 When we wander around the Neolithic houses outside the Visitor Centre, we can walk inside to retrace how people lived 4,500 years ago. While chatting with the volunteers we can discover how the houses were built with authentic materials and techniques, basing on the evidence of dwellings found nearby. Moreover, we can view the demonstration of ancient domestic skills – flint knapping, making rope out of rushes, and grinding grain with a quern and a rider.

“Wish You Were Here” Exhibition “愿你在此”展览 The exhibition takes a look at another side of the famous stone circle with an array of fascinating objects from the past few centuries on display.

Highlights of the exhibition include the very first Stonehenge guidebook, printed in 1823, and an array of memorabilia ranging from a Great Trilithon-shaped toasting fork to postcards through the decades. 展览陈列了过去几个世纪的系列文物，捎开巨石 阵的另外一道面纱，是关于巨石阵来龙去脉的历 史。展览的亮点包含第一本印制于 1823 年关于巨 石阵的旅游指南，以及展示墙上张贴着许多穿越 岁月所遗留下来的明信片。

When walking along the streets in the United Kingdom, you may find some shops displaying a crest above the door, sometimes there are two or even three. They are called “Royal Warrants”, which are granted by the Royal Family as a sign of commitment to the highest standards of service, quality and excellence. There are currently about 800 warrant holders.

Only The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh or The Prince of Wales can grant Royal Warrants.

Each of them can grant only one warrant to any individual business, but a business may hold warrants from more than one member of the Royal Family. In the late 18th century, Royal tradesmen began to display the Royal Arms on their premises and stationeries. But it was Queen Victoria who ensured that Royal Warrants gained the prestige they enjoy today.

A company must keep doing business with the Royal Household for at least 5 years to be considered on the warrant grant list. Then the company needs approval from the Lord Chamberlain, the head of the Royal Household and chairman of the Royal Household Tradesmen’s Warrants Committee. Royal Warrants are automatically reviewed by the Committee one year before expiry every 5 years.

A Unique Alliance Built with British Royals

“Cartier: Jeweller of Kings, King of Jewellers!”

This declaration pronounced in 1900 by the Prince of Wales and future King Edward VII has long sealed the bond that ties Cartier to the Royal Court of the United Kingdom. And in 1904, Cartier was delivered its first Royal Warrant of Appointment.

In 1937, Cartier created 27 tiaras for the coronation of King George VI, then the “Edelweiss” brooch in 1952 for HM Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. In 1991, The Queen’s Mother visited the London craftsmen working at Cartier’s London workshops, known as “The English Art Works”, to pay homage to their expertise. Cartier has been granted a Royal Warrant by Prince of Wales since 1997.

“Fashion fades, style is eternal.” This quote from Yves Saint Laurent is as impactful and profound as his established style. Several years after his death, the first major UK exhibition devoted to this fashion genius is brought to us in The Bowes Museum.

The big names in fashion are among us in 2015.

First there is the sensational Alexander McQueen’s show in V&A Museum, and now we have “Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal”, a show about one of the most influential French fashion designers of all time. The latter features 50 iconic outfits plus 100s of accessories, many h a v e n e v e r b e e n s h ow n outside Paris before. All of these are the defining elements of his vision, the significant influence it has had on fashion and the way we understand a b o u t w o m e n s w e a r.

This exhibition is not coming to London, instead it is housed in a magnificent French-style Chateau purpose-built as a museum in County Durham (around 2.5 hours by train from London) with a reason. “The Bowes Museum’s location clearly reflects Yves Saint Laurent’s and my own passion for inspiring, timeless places. It is the perfect setting for us – a museum built as a French Chateau.” Commented Pierre Bergé, President of the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent, which collaborated to produce this anticipated show.

How YSL Style Becomes Eternal Articulating the idea of “Fashion fades, style is eternal”, the exhibition highlights the diverse influences of Yves Saint Laurent. The show explores a number of themes, from art, transparency and women’s emancipation as well as highlighting the different eras and styles of his creative career.

Passionate about arts, and being a collector himself, Yves Saint Laurent paid homage, as early as 1965, to various artists in his haute couture collections, with the famous Mondrian dresses, as well as his homage to Diaghilev and Picasso in 1979 and tributes to Matisse, Cocteau, Braque and Van Gogh in the 1980s, some of which are also displayed at The Bowes Museum.

Women’s Power In early stage of his career, the designer defined a new style and composed the quintessential elements of the modern woman’s wardrobe: the trench coat in 1962; the first tuxedo in 1966; the jumpsuit in 1968. A selection of these iconic garments are on display now. By making use of men’s dress codes, the designer brought women a sense of social empowerment whilst retaining their femininity.

J: The exhibition has transformed 3 large gallery spaces on the first floor of the Museum: our award winning Fashion & Textile Gallery, our English Interiors Gallery and our temporary exhibition gallery. We have transformed the glass cube in the Fashion & Textile gallery, a glass sided study centre, for the purpose of the exhibition to give a 3-sided view of “Yves Saint Laurent’s studio”. There are 5 films in various parts of the exhibition, some with background music.

M: From 5,000 dresses kept by the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent to the final 50 dresses that are featured in the exhibition, how was this 1/100 choice made? What are the criteria for selection?

J: Visits were made to the Museum by the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent, and I visited their archive in Paris to look at the collections. The discussions held with myself were based on which would link with historic pieces here and to show all the iconic, most famous items spanning his career. All the chosen exhibits had Pierre Bergé’s approval. It is important to stress that this is the first time that an Yves Saint Laurent exhibition will open up a dialogue with a Museum’s collection, creating a unique sense of narrative around the history of fashion.

M: Could you elaborate more about “the dialogue with a Museum’s collection”?

J: 5 iconic designs by Yves Saint Laurent have been placed in the Fashion & Textile Gallery displays. Beginning with Saint Laurent’s at once traditional and revolutionary approach to Haute Couture, followed by his play on MasculinFéminin, Transparence, Art, and ending with the lavish display of Spectaculaire. For example: Chantilly lace inspired the theme of transparency.

Yves Saint Laurent’s daring design of 1970 is shown with examples of French Chantilly lace from the 1850s, including a bodice worn by the Empress Eugénie of France.

M: Some pieces make debuts in Bowes Museum, can you name a few?

J: There are 2 garments which have not been exhibited before – designs called Cascade and Labia, from Yves Saint Laurent’s 1958 collection for Dior.

M: If you could choose only one piece, which is your favourite Yves Saint Laurent outfit at the exhibition and why?

J: The exhibition features his Tuxedo of 1966, the first evening suit for women. It revolutionised women’s evening wear, known simply as “Le Smoking” and was hugely successful for his Rive Gauche ready to wear label. It was Yves Saint Laurent who recognised the changes happening in the 1960s. He tapped into the emerging youth culture, creating a new, easy-to-wear wardrobe for modern women which was very different from the strict dress codes their mothers had to live by.

In Dior's Autumn-Winter collection, Raf Simons, Artistic Director of Christian Dior, embraces the idea of the primal and the patterned to convey notions of the liberated and sensual, making a hyper-natural world for women. “I wanted that feeling of a sensory overload in the collection. With this animalistic, sexual woman wearing a new kind of camouflage.”

The collection moves from the garden of the “femme fleur” towards the terrain of the “femme animale”. While the masculine and the feminine move closer together, the patterns become abstracted. “I wanted the collection to deal with nature and femininity in a different way,” says Raf Simons. “Away from the garden and the flower, to something more liberated, darker and more sexual. This idea had begun in the couture, but here there is more wildness, savagery and overt masculinity in the way a woman might present herself. The idea of animals and an abstraction of their patterns became key.”

It is not difficult to discover that the typical feminine tailleur is replaced by over-sized masculine tailoring in blazers and doublebreasted overcoats, while rough masculine tweeds and wool felt find more feminine forms in opera coats and long line outerwear, asymmetrically and revealingly slashed. Underneath, abstracted animal patterns in knitted jacquard body suits and harness dresses while long vinyl boots serve as a second skin. The collection will be available in store from September.

A curved case middle, a square bezel and a round watch glass meet and mingle in an elegant reinterpretation of the monopusher chronograph with pulsometric scale presented by the Manufacture in 1928. While the inspiration derived from the original model is immediately perceptible, each detail has been infinitely rethought. For example, each element of the dial and hands inspired by the original watch face has been reinvented to guarantee perfect readability.

The Ledbury started to be listed in the 50 Best restaurant of the world in the past 5 years. It was a huge success for the team to achieve such good result. This year it has been named to top 20.

The Head Chef of The Ledbury, Brett Graham, comes from Newcastle, Australia. He used to be trained by British stalwart Phil Howard at the two-michelin-starred restaurant The Square. After that, he opened his own restaurant, The Ledbury in the West London suburb of Notting Hill in 2005.

In the interview Brett Graham told us, “I did my apprenticeship in Australia and once I qualified I moved to England after winning a trip here through a cookery competition I won.” At first, he thought he would go back home after 2 years, but 15 years until now, he is still here. He has not only rooted here, but has also been building The Ledbury. He opened The Ledbury in 2005 with his business partners Nigel Platts-Martin and Phil Howard. They are also celebrating their 10th anniversary this year.

When being asked, “Was there any critical person or thing that has influenced you after he/she putting your foot down on being a chef?” He disclosed, “ In those early years in Australia, my first boss Neil set me a good example about how to run a restaurant and how difficult it could be. And the importance of keep pushing myself moving forward.” As a great mentor and friend, Liam and Banc taught him some disciplines, consistency and the most important thing to be a chef: how to cook. Without a doubt, his business partners Nigel and Phil have played huge roles in his career, helping him to realise what it takes to run a business at this stage.

The main reason for The Ledbury to be listed in the world’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015, is it always chooses the finest seasonal ingredients, which are all produced in Britain. They work with a few disciplines in the kitchen, for example, only using lamb and beef that are not grain-fed, also they must be native to the British Isles and can be outdoors all year round.

They only use Herdwick Lamb and Belted Galloway Beef. When these are not available, they are not on the menu. And also, being famous for wild game cuisine, The Ledbury expert hunters are always in charge of their wild venison and will never use a farmed alternative. They collaborate with a farm in Guildford named Secretts which provides them seasonal vegetable.

Their early Autumn season menu recommends the must-have dishes, such as the last of the very best tomatoes which serve with fresh cheese, dried olives and green tomato juice. The other signature dishes include lobster wrapped in Shiitake with pepper dulse and hazelnuts, and Jowl of Pork with Chestnuts and figs.

For the coming Fall season, The Ledbury recommends us to try pheasant egg dish – warm pheasant’s egg, shaved celeriac, dried ham, and Summer truffle. They also adopt Earl Grey tea and mirabel plums into grouse cuisine; venison with dried fruit, berries and bone marrow; grey partridge with truffles, ceps and chestnuts.

As the head chef of Hélène Darroze at the Connaught in London, Hélène is also a judge on France's Top Chef 2015. Earlier in 2012, she was admitted into the French Legion of Honour as a Chevalier by President Nicolas Sarkozy. Her likeable personality inspired the character, Chef Colette, in Ratatouille. M: Are there more significant or renowned male chefs than female chefs in the industry? What will you advise the females who want to enter the culinary world?

H: True, there is still a very small percentage of women in the culinary world but if you are willing to work very hard and persevere there is nothing and no one who can stop a woman chef from building a successful career in the industry. What women often have to face are choices. There is a time when you reach a crossroad in this industry where as a woman you have to choose between being a wife and a mother and being a chef. The two things are very, very difficult to balance. Most of the very talented young women in my kitchen left because they wanted to pursue motherhood which is a beautiful thing and I don’t blame them. My advice: never forget to be a woman, never pretend to be a man......

M: How many people are constituted to your team in Hélène Darroze in Paris and Hélène Darroze at the Connaught respectively? What is the proportion of female and male chefs?

H: In my London team we are about 40 and in Paris about 35.

There are actually more female chefs in my Paris kitchen at the moment! That was not intentional but just how it happened.

M: How did you get the invitation to run Hélène Darroze at the Connaught?

H: When I was first approached by the Connaught I wasn’t interested. I was already the chef of my restaurant in Paris and couldn’t imagine having two restaurants in different countries! Luckily they wouldn’t take no for an answer and insisted I came and visited the property before making my final decision. I fell in love with the Connaught and London. The rest is history.

M: What are the signature dishes and how did your inspirations originate from? How often do you launch new menu/dishes?

H: The black rice with calamari, chorizo topped with reggianno parmesan emulsion is something special from my cuisine. It is on the menu at my restaurant at the Connaught and it has become something of a signature dish. We launch new dishes or elements of new dishes every few weeks depending on the seasonality of the ingredients which is most important to me. I take inspiration from everything; every meeting, every moment.

M: Some of the French Cuisine of Hélène Darroze at the Connaught adopt British produce, what are these dishes and their specialties?

H: One of the dishes is the XXL scallop with tandoori spices, carrot, citrus and coriander. These scallops are hand dived on the Scottish coast and are, in my opinion, simply the very best available.

M: What is the influence of being grown up in a chef family to your chef career? When and how did you discover that you have a passion for cooking?

H: I’m the fourth generation in my family to cook and I see my father and grandfather as two of my greatest culinary influences; however it was Alain Ducasse who pinpointed my potential and made me realise I had to work in the kitchen. He said that I had passion, taste and was very serious. The fact Alain supported me in the kitchen was very important for my father. What I learned from Alain Ducasse is what I also learned from my family; the respect for products and producers; respect for taste, and the simplicity of cooking around the products.

M: What do you like to do in your free time?

H: More than anything I love to spend time with my two girls, Charlotte and Quiterie. We often go to Borough Market on weekends and pick up seasonal ingredients and have fun in the kitchen cooking up a storm! We always like to have guests over so will have dishes in the middle of the table for everyone to share and enjoy.

M: Which restaurants in London do you go most often?

H: I love everything from The Clove Club in Shoreditch and Fera at Claridge’s in Mayfair. When I want Italian food I always go to Café Murano, I love Angela Hartnett’s food. Japanese food is a real favourite of mine and I love Roka but when I am celebrating something really special I go to Umu. For the best cocktails and to really have fun I go of course to the Connaught Bar. Saying that, there are little known restaurants that are simply incredible. I love to visit Shoreditch for Vietnamese, Brick Lane for the best Indian food and I love eating street food at both Borough Market and Portobello market.

M: How long does it take to reserve a booking at your two famous restaurants generally? Any booking tips you can offer to the customers?

H: There can be a waiting time of a few weeks. If you cannot secure a booking in advance my advice would be to call on the day, we might have had a last minute cancellation and you might be in luck!

Salon Privé would not be strange to the car aficionado. Entering the 10th consecutive year, this glamorous event surprises the fans by picking an extraordinary venue. Imagine the rare and valuable classic cars beautifully displayed for the first time on the South Lawn of Blenheim Palace, what a feast for the eyes! The regulars of Salon Privé will once again look forward to the debuts of supercars and luxury cars especially when some cars have never been seen on the UK’s soil.

Whilst the car remains the star, Salon Privé is adding more fashionable and sociable elements such as the Boodles Ladies’ Day. One should realise that it is “a relaxing, stylish boutique full hospitality Garden Party where spectacular cars shine, the diamonds sparkle and the champagne corks pop away”. There are sideshows like the Luxury Retail Village and the EFG Art Fair which make Salon Privé a favourable event.

As a presentation of the finest automotive and luxury brands, there is lots to do and see during the 3-day Salon Privé. Main themes are assigned on each of the 3 days: the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance Judging Day on the first day, the Boodles Ladies’ Day on the second day, and an exciting new addition to this year, the Pirelli “Prestige & Performance Competition”, on the third day.

This new event allows private owners of supercars and sports cars, manufactured from 1975 todate, the chance to display in the show. This also coincides with the first-ever Public Day at Salon Privé. 100 competing cars will form the central display piece of the day’s event and some exciting parades can be expected!

Salon Privé has already given a sneak preview of what is in store on the Preview Day in May. The 10 displays included 3 illustrious hypercars of modern times – McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder, as well as the Koenigsegg One-1. Alongside the hypercars, the line-up included Lamborghini Countach 5000s, Bugatti EB110 Super Sport and Porsche 904GTS.

Elegant Ladies and Cars Salon Privé is not as male dominated as one imagines. The second day is set as the Boodles Ladies’ Day. Combining stunning jewellery, elegant dresses and magnificent hats and hair pieces, the Boodles Ladies’ Day is a glamorous celebration amidst the automotive wonders of Salon Privé. Ladies are welcome to enter the competition. The only requirement to enter into this award is to wear a hat, headpiece or fascinator. The most stylish, colourful and chic dressed will be shortlisted and presented with a single rose.

D: We have always been a boutique luxury lifestyle event instead of merely a motor show.

M: How foremost will be this 10th event?

lifestyle 生活品味 M: What does 10th anniversary mean to you, to the car aficionado and to the UK? D: We are very blessed that we are still here! We have exhibitors taking part for consecutive 10 years and loyal visitors continue to come back. It is amazing that Salon Privé is regarded as one of the top 3 most prestigious classic car events in the world within 10 years, comparable to the Coppa d'Oro Villa d'Este launched in 1929 in Italy, and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance founded in 1950 in America. We are also pleased to be sponsored by Chubb Insurance for helping us to internationalise the event. With them we are able to attract incredibly wealthy collectors from all around the world.

M: How would you describe the British essence in Salon Privé?

D: It is indeed a very quintessential English Garden Party. With Blenheim Palace, the ultimate British venue and the birthplace of Winston Churchill, it does not get much more British.

M: If our readers can only attend one of the 3-day event, how would you suggest them which day to pick and go?

D: If they go for a full hospitality experience – lobster, champagne, afternoon tea – I recommend either Thursday or Friday for a quintessential English day-out. These 2 days will be more intimate and exclusive. They can see more classic cars and plenty of beautiful people on the Ladies' Day. If they look for a great day-out with families and friends, I probably recommend Saturday.

This day will be busier with more supercars and fun.

Comprising the personal collection, this major exhibition at National Portrait Gallery displays more than 70 precious photographs exploring the life and career of the celebrated film star.

It is the first British exhibition to be organised with suppor t from the Audrey Hepburn Estate, and the first time Hepburn’s sons, Sean Hepburn Ferrer and Luca Dotti, lent their personal photos to an exhibition in the UK. A picture is worth a thousand words. The thoughtfully selected photos are illustrating the story of Hepburn in a few perspectives: from her fascinating career as a recognised actress and a fashion icon, to her life as a mother and philanthropist. Childhood Dream Hepburn had always wanted to become a ballet dancer. After the War, she moved back to London in 1948 to pursue her dream in Rambert Ballet School. The world champion has amassed the most victories in Red Bull Air Race World Championship history. Repeating his success from 2014, the British pilot took the top spot on the first podium in Abu Dhabi and came first in Japan's podium again. The game in Ascot Racecourse is definitely seen as a triumphal return.

Speaking of his opportunity to race at such a prestigious venue, Bonhomme said: “For 300 years there has been racing at Ascot; what a stunning place to race aeroplanes. The history of Ascot will probably never be beaten in the history of the air race. An 1,800-square-foot Michael Kors Collection Store has opened in London earlier this year. It carries not only ready-to-wear and accessories, but also watches, jewellery, footwear, eyewear and a selection of the brand’s fragrances.
