SENIORS INITIATE FRESHMEN The annual initiation of the Freshmen was held again this ) ear with the center of attraction being the mudhole by the parking lot. The spectators gazed on, remembering their childhood days a the eniors made mud pies out of the Frc hmen. Other ingredients of these "pies" were pigs feet, eggs, and having cream. After a change of heart the Seniors decided to do the Freshmen a favor and ended the day by running them through the carwa h.

\Vhen Coach Harvey put out the first call for the 1971 season of Waynesville High School football, many veterans of pre\ ious seasons \\¡ere missing. But the coaches and boys worked diligently and came up with an injury-bound team. '\inc boys were off the roster with injuries by the season's end, but not before posting the large t win ever for \\ H -a 44 point \'l-in over Clinton-~ta ie.

After a disappointing loss to Lebanon, the \Vaynesbille netters ran off fifteen consecutive "ictories, en route to the F.A.V.C. championship. The 1971-72 Charioteers, under the direction of ~1rs. Pam Pursiful, marched at football and ba ketball games and also competed in several Drill Team Imitationals. They \\ere awarded first, second, third, and fourth place trophies. Diane Crabtree was given 'best captain' award at the Xavier Vnhersity Invitational and the Dayton Mall Invitational. 'he \\as also \Oted 'Charioteer of the Year' by the other members of the corps.
