Unlimited enjoyment at a top level

Crystal clear air refreshes the senses. The sun laughs from a blue winter sky. The start of the incomparable winter sport paradise in the holiday region of Gstaad! The events promise a top-level destination experience. The opportunities range from an Adrenalin-Kick to cultural pleasures.

It’s called “Ready, set, fun” on the 3rd of January at the Rivella Family Contest in Saanenmöser. At this fun-race the family is the centre of attention. Zweisimmen offer winter sports enjoyment for spectators and participants which are not so typical. A happy, team-sport orientated charity event follows on the 30 th and 31st January with the “25 hours Freeride Dominique Perret” on the Wispile in Gstaad. The organiser is the wellknown freeride expert Dominique Perret. Every kilometer covered counts. The respective sum that the participants and sponsors collect will be given to a charitable cause. The recipients this year is the Borneo Tropical Rainforest Foundation.

Hot-air balloons in a winter sky

Hot-air balloons in diverse colors and forms decorate the sky over Château-d’Oex and the entire Gstaad region from the 23rd to 31st of January. At this international hot-air balloon week approximately 80 participants from 20 different countries will benefit from the special microclimate in the region.

Great artists make music

The turn of the year is stylishly designed in Gstaad with the New Year Music Festival. From the 29th December 2009 to the 3rd January 2010 there will be 14 concerts of different musical styles on the program. The classical highlight of the winter season is the Festival Sommets Musicaux from the 29th January to the 6th February. Great artists from today and the future play music for the tenth anniversary of the Gstaad winter festival.

Adrenaline-kick and acrobatics

On the 12th February, 3-man ski teams show what condition and endurance means at the toughest 24 hour ski race of the Bernese Oberland. Guests experience the fireworks of winter sport freestyle-acrobatics, a freestyle-motorcross show, spectacular pyrotechnics-effect and a party at the 12. High Fly on 20 th February 2010, by the valley station of the Eggli chair lift in Rübeldorf/Saanen.

Under the starry sky freestylists from throughout Europe compete for the approval of the audience and the “high flyer 2010” championship title.

Big final for the “up and coming”

On the 27th and 28 th March in Schönried, the final of the Grand-Prix Migros, Europes biggest ski race for youth between 8 and 15 years old is battled out.

Whether a beginner or ski-crack: everyone is welcome to join the Grand Prix Migros – even skiers, who don’t belong to a Skiclub.

Adventure in the world of Freerides

On the 10 th and 11th April is the last event of the winter season 2009/10 – the Freeridedays.ch in the Glacier 3000 ski resort. It is a must for all who enjoy being off the ski slopes and into the deep powdered snow. Some of the best pro-riders of Europe and professional guides will take you into the world of freerides. The highpoint of the day is the rappelling over a 70 meter drop. On Saturday, 10 th April, there will be a lively party celebrated in the “Chlösterli” in Grund close to Gstaad. GST
