LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT elcome to 2021! I hope you and your families enjoyed a happy and healthy holiday season! Despite its challenges, 2020 brought us closer to our families, reacquainted us with our homes and demonstrated the value of our Club. The MAC provided an indispensable home away from home for many of us. Although our Club experience looked and felt different last year, we came together, persevered and kept many traditions alive while other aspects of our lives were disrupted. Having traveled this 2020 pandemic journey together, the relationships among our Members and with our employees have strengthened. Our employees displayed their commitment and sacrificed. Our Members stayed connected, enhanced their relationships with each other and took care of our employees. We learned to appreciate every opportunity for fellowship. Because of this, we know our Club will emerge stronger and more resilient than before the pandemic. As we enter 2021 with the promise of vaccines and an end to COVID-19, we anticipate many of our traditional events. We'll be celebrating the Preservation Foundation Gala, Boxing Night, Hermann Trophy and many other beloved MAC events in the coming months. Perhaps in April, we will even meet in the Jack Buck Grille as we await the shuttle to the Cardinals game. While a considerable amount of our Board and staff’s efforts in 2020 focused on crisis management, we continued to consider the Club’s future. Knowing the fog of COVID will lift, we stabilized and secured the Club, then pushed forward to enhance the Club’s strategic planning and capital project processes. As we seek to return to a thriving environment, we will allocate our resources in a plan-full manner to improve the Club experience and sustain the Club for the long term.

As a leading institution, we aim to make a difference in the future of our community. We initiated a Civic Engagement Task Force to leverage the influence of our Club and its Members to make St. Louis and the surrounding community a better place. Our Diversity and Inclusion Task Force will pursue our commitment to making the MAC a more inclusive place for all Members. We established the Downtown Security Task Force (DSTF) to ensure Members, employees and guests feel safe visiting the Downtown Clubhouse and that the Downtown Clubhouse remains a vibrant and relevant fixture in the City of St. Louis. Many have asked if I regret being President during a pandemic. Would I like a do-over? Just the opposite. I am proud to be associated with an organization with such committed and engaged constituents. The bonds we forged and experiences we endured this past year will last a long time. We owe a debt of support to prior leadership who positioned the Club to weather the storm of the pandemic. The decisions to acquire the West Clubhouse, expand the reciprocal club offering and affiliate with Glen Echo exemplify the foresight that broadened the value of our membership and will enable the MAC to perpetuate. Thank you for your commitment to the MAC. Together we will ensure that our Club comes roaring back and continues its rich history as the premier athletic, social and dining Club in the St. Louis region. F
