Cribbage Harbord Diggers

HARBORD DIGGERS CRIBBAGE

We completed a full 10 weeks of the Autumn Roy Perri competition, which is a great feat these days of uncertainty. We had joint winners, John Fransen and Tony Richards. Lesley Fransen came second (one would question how husband and wife can get into the winner’s circle, he also being president and does the numbers!) and Georgie Poitras came third.

Some members are very competitive and the numbers for the rest of the members were very close. I have had a good turn out each week, which they all need to be applauded considering the cold and wet rainy nights, all are not getting any younger.!! The winter Roy Perri competition started on the 17 June, and I am looking forward to seeing some new members as winners.

I purchased a trophy on the 15 June for the double’s competition. Last September at the AGM we all agreed that the name on the trophy would be Pat O’ Sullivan. I am proud of this trophy as Pat will be remembered for her dedication to the club.

A very large P.S.We are all sad because of the virus we have not played are great game cribbage for 2 months. I had notification at the end of last week one of our members passed away, good old Norm, he really enjoyed his evenings when he could play. His love of the game cribbage, and was very knowledgeable in all aspects, he will be sadly missed.
