Toastmaster Club Wyong
CLUB WYONG TOASTMASTERS
Wyong Toastmasters Club was Chartered on the 6th of May 2008. Club Number 1174686. We meet on the 1st, 3rd, 5th Friday of the month, from 10.30am- 12.30pm at Club Wyong.
The core values of Wyong Toastmasters are, Integrity, Respect, Service and Excellence. The Mission Statement of Wyong Toastmasters is, ‘We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which the members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.’ The last two years has been a big learning curve for the whole of Australia in many ways. We in Toastmasters have had to learn new skills such as holding our meetings online instead of face to face.
We are fortunate that we have great leaders in Australia and with the help of Toastmasters International, we survived the first Covid-19 pandemic with some member loss, our speech contests were conducted online. I believe we came out the other side more educated on holding online meetings, but just as we were getting back to our normal face to face meetings the pandemic struck again. We were more prepared for it the second time and reverted easily to online meetings once again. Wyong Toastmasters has held its Executive Committee Elections and the new committee is as listed below:
President - Debbie King DTM Immediate Past President - Martin Beggs Vice President of Education (VPE) - Megan Pascoe Treasurer - Adam Dorrington Secretary - Megan Pascoe Vice President of Membership (VPM) - Margaret Young Vice President of Public Relations (VPPR) - Martin Beggs Sergeant at Arms (SAA) - Joel Gillan We have appointed a Club Coach for the new Toastmaster year in the form of Jan Cummings DTM. Jan is a very experienced Toastmaster, and she will be working with the club to boost our membership. Wyong Toastmasters are looking forward to the future as a sub-club of the Mounties Group as both organizations I believe share the same goals.
