HARBORD DIGGERS TOASTMASTERS - EVENING

In December 1970, a group of enthusiastic northern beaches residents formed a Toastmasters Club at Harbord Diggers. Despite the transition to Zoom based meetings, we continue to be an enthusiastic group with membership numbers growing.

In November 2020 the dopamine was flowing in the first meeting back face-to-face, it was a great buzz to be back face to face - and whilst we are briefly back to zoom meetings – we know we will be back stronger than ever when the doors open again at Harbord Diggers. It’s been a big year for our members: new dogs and babies have enriched families, new members have joined HDTM, former members returned and most importantly we’ve had a lot of fun.

OUR 2021 AWARD WINNERS ARE;

● Brad Nonnenmacher whose normal weapon of choice as an artist is his pen, however has communication and leadership gifts, landing him the “Toastmaster of the year” award.

● Hyunyi Wang has touched many hearts in our club, her persistence led her to win the “Most improved” award this year – the motto “showing up is half the battle” certainly rings true We have launched a new educational push, Ross had us on the edge of our seats with “intentional listening”, Laura Fagan taught us all about Body Language and guest speaker Mike Kano Mcillam gave us some Vocal Variety tips. Last but not least, in June it was also time to elect a new exec team, Colm Fagan made way for our new President Anna Leadbetter and we are so excited to have her lead us in 2021/22
