HARBORD DIGGERS WOMEN'S BOWLING

Until COVID-19 "struck" we had been playing bowls at Manly Bowling Club (known as "Diggers on the Park") since February 2016 waiting for our new green at Harbord Diggers. We were hoping to be back "home" early 2020 however the reconstruction of the bowling green at Harbord Diggers has not taken place to date.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and difficulties getting to the Manly club, unfortunately our members have not been able to play bowls since March last year. 2021 marks the 40th anniversary of Harbord Diggers Women's Bowling Cub. We had organised to mark this important milestone with a luncheon on Monday 30th August, however this was not possible: we are hoping we can celebrate it prior to the end of the year. Our much-loved Patron, Betty Campbell, a founding member of the Club, continues to be a wonderful support to us all. Last December we enjoyed our Christmas Party and would like to thank Karen and the staff at Harbord Diggers for the delicious Christmas lunch they prepared for us. Our thanks to both Harbord Diggers and Mounties for their support during what has been an extremely difficult year for everyone. We kept in touch with each other at a coffee morning once a month when restrictions eased, however this has not been possible for several months. Whilst we are not able to see each other at present we keep in touch by phone, email or facetime. We hope it won't be too long before life returns to "relatively" normal and we can once again enjoy the camaraderie we treasure and also the great game of bowls.
