From an incredibly young age I had low self-esteem and as such I was prone to being a people pleaser and always trying to keep everyone else happy even at my expense. The result of this behaviour was twenty years of addiction, depression, and eventually destructive self-hatred. It took a complete change in lifestyle and mindset to overcome this and start developing self-esteem.

There were several main factors that helped restore my self-esteem.

nd that can be exhausting. We hear constantly how taking time out is good for our health, our mindset, and our families, but we do not end up doing it because we never have enough time in our already busy day. The truth is we do have time we simply believe that every other priority is more important than us. Until you develop healthy selfesteem you will continue the neverending hamster wheel of being busy.

This inevitably ends with you being thrown off in a heap of overwhelm, guilt or more serious mental health conditions. Self-Esteem is essentially how we evaluate ourselves and accept ourselves. These negative or positive perceptions have a huge influence on the choices we make and ultimately are responsible for whether we take time out to Relax. Many women think that high self-esteem equates to being selfish, however this in is an incorrect perception. Valuing and

Lifestyle Changes – getting sober and incorporating exercise into my life was a game changer. The simple act of looking after my physical body created immediate positive changes in my mental attitude and my emotional state. These changes can be as simple as eating healthy, going for a walk, gardening or a more ambitious target of training for a marathon. Everyone will respond to exercise and food different so its important to make changes that also bring you joy.
