What Practices help you to

relax? Linda Willow Roberts of bit.ly/2ZWyvxY To bring my mind into the present moment, I close my eyes, breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth a couple of times, then on the breath in I imagine it going into my heart space and voila My mind is clear I can relax. To ground myself so I’m not all over the place, again I do the above breathing technique, but this time I imagine tree roots coming out of the ground and wrapping around my feet and anchoring me to the earth. The mind is a very powerful tool, I would do the above method first before trying anything else.

Angelina Skye Lunenburg For me, making art, swimming, music, reading, playing the guitar and singing, sitting near water and trees, and a good massage are relaxing.

Leah PalmerO’malley Daily meditation practice, reminds me to stay present, mindful and therefore relaxed.

Jenny Roberts Ottaway I always thought it was an ‘older person’s thing’ but now I LOVE gardening! Picking weeds, trimming bushes so they grow back bigger and stronger than before, adding fertilizer and watch the plants thrive and grow beautiful abundant flowers, picking mulberries from my tree that is nature’s gift. Gardening and what happens when we tend a garden... is such a lovely metaphor for life!

Lisa Entwisle Wellthy Living Self-knowledge is my key for me to feel more relaxed. I regularly do body scans, adjusting my shoulders, opening my chest, relaxing my jaw. I journal often, asking myself a number of reflective questions as well as noticing and writing about any patterns that are playing out. Lounge room dancing, creative meditations (doodling), cooking with fun tunes, going on what I can a stroll for the sense and soul and of course connecting with nature are some of my go-to tools to feel more relaxed. I also find debriefing with a trusted friend or mentor really helpful. MUMPRENEUR MOVEMENT |
