Glenlo Abbey | Meals: 1B, 1D DAYS 1–3 I DUBLIN, IRELAND/KILKENNY Explore Dublin’s historic quarter, and join an archaeology expert at the National Museum of Ireland to examine prehistoric jewelry, weapons, and “bog bodies.” Enjoy a guided tour of Kilkenny, with stops at the 12th-century Kilkenny Castle and the National Craft Gallery. DAYS 7–9 I GALWAY/CONNEMARA/ COUNTY MAYO/SHANNON Travel to Galway to discover its vibrant traditions of music and art. Killian Driscoll Archaeologist National Geographic Explorer Killian Driscoll is an Irish archaeologist who focuses on Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic archaeology—in particular on stone-tool raw materials and manufacturing techniques, as well as landscapes. His current project in Ireland extends his National Geographic–funded fieldwork and investigates the sources of raw materials for prehistoric stone tools.
