s the year winds down, the busy-ness from the last 12 months can take its toll. With school term coming to an end, work busier than ever, shopping, social catchups and Christmas, we not only feel tired and run-down, we push ourselves just to rush across the end-of-year finish line. I always see the impact of tiredness on my daughter, Mia’s skin by the end of the year. Eczema flare-ups appear more regularly, whispering for help. Yes, of course we should absolutely enjoy this period… Christmas is a special time to spend with family and your loved ones! But let’s look after ourselves at the same time so when the clock strikes 1 January, 2021, we not only feel amazing, but our skin is glowing from the inside-out. BREATHE Slow, calm deep breathing techniques can reduce stress, detoxify your body, improve digestion, increase energy and help you remain centred. Start your day, by mindfully making and sipping a cup of tea, while focusing on your deep in-breath through your nose, and slow out-breath through your mouth. Or as your day progresses, you can implement this practice at any time by taking a few minutes to pause, sit quietly and breathe. GO TO THE BEACH During summer, nothing beats a beautiful gift of the beach for our body, mind and spirit. The ocean breeze opens up our lungs, swimming in the saltwater cleanses our skin, watching the waves calms our mind and our soul feels restored with this magical interaction with Mother Nature.
