LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Hey CKI! Welcome to the first of a great many newsletters to come this term. Our summer issue is all about transition and the finales of the 2015-2016 term. Stories come from a number of our officers — laugher, tears, and the power of service live on! When you finish reading, we want to hear from you! As quick as you can, please send us the pages you liked most -- we'll remember those for our next issue! If you like what you see here or have your own ideas to get involved, reach out to me! Our August issue will focus on showing the new members what we’re all about. Sincerely,

Daniel Lang

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Hello Nevada CKI! I hope everyone is enjoying the summer. 2015-2016 was a great year. We experienced Murder Mystery in DeLaMare, an Oscars party with our star, new members getting inducted, the first annual Snag A Sweetheart, a red carpet banquet to end the year in style, and so many other adventures.

You can expect this next year to be even more thrilling, so hold on to your hats and hang on tight. Our dream-team of board members is working hard to bring you a plethora of meaningful service events, celebrations, and lasting memories! Summer is upon us and the members of Nevada CKI are everywhere, from Las Vegas to New York, but never fear there are still plenty of opportunities for service, leadership, and fellowship. Members not in Reno are teaming up with local Circle K Clubs to join in on their fun. For the rest of you who are in Reno come join us at SONV summer games, concessions, and Hot August Nights! Be sure to visit the sign up sheet for updates. If you want to get involved more with the division and district check out Kiwanis DCON in August and learn all about professional development. There are also DCMs happening every month. Be sure to bring back lots of summer stories to share and keep Circle K in your hearts! Yours Truly,

Amie Schlageter

When I applied to be the MD&E chair I didn’t know that I was going to have to come up with the very last icebreaker of the year, and it’s a lot of pressure knowing that this would be the very last icebreaker that all of the seniors will remember taking part in. Since we all pretty much know each other by now, I knew that this icebreaker needed to be a fun game- something competitive. Luckily, Mickey helped me brainstorm and we came up with a Charades Race. We thought of a lot of different words that fit into our theme of the meeting and put them in a pile in the middle of the room. Once everyone was split into teams, one member of each team had to run to get a word and then act it out until another member of his or her team guessed it correctly. I did not expect everyone to get so into it (to the point where people were pulling

some stunts and started diving on stage for words), but it turned out great! So great in fact that we got kicked out of our room and ended up in the theater, which was definitely an awesome way to end the year
