Monica Svenner Ms Svenner grew up in São Paulo (Brazil) where her family moved in 1956 when her father was offered the job of starting up a factory. She moved back to Sweden at the age of 18 to study chemical engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.

When in Gothenburg, she met her husband and the town has remained her home base while working in all parts of the world.

In addition to chemical engineering, Ms Svenner has teaching degrees in mathematics, chemistry and physics. She has worked at companies such as Volvo Cars, Wicanders and Mölnlycke Health Care and within areas such as research and development, organization and business development. She has been a quality manager, factory manager and, for 10 years, an MD in companies with turnovers of up to 8 billion SEK, with employees numbering from 80 to 1.100 persons.

First woman MD within the ship repair industry Damen Shiprepair Götaverken aims to be the best within the Nordic countries, according to its new strategy. As part of this focus, Ms Monica Svenner has been appointed as the new MD. Ms Svenner has wide industrial experience as MD for several international companies, such as Stena Recycling and Atlas Copco. She is the first woman to take an MD post within the ship repair industry and as a Gothenburger she has a burning ambition for her new company.

The current MD, Mr Jos Goris, is very pleased with the choice of his successor: “Monica has extensive experience in leadership and business development within a variety of organizations and industries, particularly within heavy industry. This means that she can bring new approaches and innovation, which is extremely positive for Damen Shiprepair Götaverken. It is also particularly good having an MD from Gothenburg who is internationally respected for her experience, the perfect mix.”

Ms Svenner sees great development potential in Damen Shiprepair Götaverken and she accepted the assignment with excitement and enthusiasm. Her main driving forces are improving businesses, developing and managing organizations and helping people to move forward.

Tulip Oil acquires energy solutions Tulip Oil now holds interests in 10 hydrocarbon licences in the Netherlands The Hague. Tulip Oil Holding B.V. (“Tulip Oil”) has acquired a 100% shareholding in Smart Energy Solutions B.V. (“SES”,) from SES Holding B.V. for an undisclosed cash sum. The Company has been renamed into Tulip Oil Netherlands B.V. Damen Shiprepair Götaverken currently has 130 employees and a turnover of 300 MSEK. During the last five years, the company has had a positive result trend, with a minor exception in 2011 due to market recession. The Götaverken company was founded as early as 1841. Since the shipyard reopened in 1993 – with 70 employees – more than 1,000 assignments have been performed, including repairs, maintenance and reconstruction of various types of vessels.

Damen Shiprepair Brest Mr Goris will move on to become the MD for the newly acquired French shiprepair facility Damen Shiprepair Brest. Damen took over the operations of this French yard, formerly known as ‘Sobrena’, three months ago.

Damen Shiprepair Brest employs 210 workers and operates 3 large graven drydocks of which the largest measures 420 m x 80 m.

The company is focusing its activities on Western Europe.

Gasunie awards Tebodin framework agreement for multidisciplinary projects Gasunie and Tebodin have signed a framework agreement for the engineering of large and small multidisciplinary projects. Gasunie is a European gas infrastructure company that provides the transport of natural gas and green gas in the Netherlands and the Northern part of Germany.

The company is one of Tebodin’s main clients in the Netherlands; the consultancy and engineering firm has been working for Gasunie for more than 40 years now and has successfully completed many Gasunie projects. Especially in the last eight years a few large projects have been realised.

The duration of the contract will be two years with a possible extension of twice one year. Gasunie made a specific choice for two main partners to do their engineering work quickly, while retaining the highest quality. Based on public evaluation criteria, both Tebodin and Grontmij were selected.

Glomar Shipmanagement: meer werk, dus meer schepen

Glomar Shipmanagement in Den Helder heeft de vloot uitgebreid tot inmiddels 12 schepen en nog dit jaar verwacht men dit aantal te kunnen uitbreiden met in eigen beheer nieuw gebouwde Safety en Stand-by schepen respectievelijk Guard- en Chase vessels. Glomar heeft daartoe een eigen scheepswerf in het Poolse Gdynia in gebruik genomen, waar ook verbouwingen aan bestaande schepen worden uitgevoerd. Managing Director Ed Pronk verwacht namelijk een verdere groei in de offshore olie- en gasindustrie, waardoor de vraag naar goede en veilige schepen met goed opgeleide bemanningen alleen maar zal toenemen.

“Vorig jaar zijn we al begonnen met de vloot uit te breiden en aan te passen”, vertelt Ed Pronk. Zo is het 'guard' vaartuig Glomar Venture grondig verbouwd en nu inzetbaar als Safety and Standby vessel. “Het schip kreeg daarvoor onder meer een nieuwe en zuiniger hoofdmotor en nieuwe generatoren”, aldus Pronk. Het vaartuig voldoet daarmee aan de nieuwste IMO-eisen voor veilig en vooral ook milieuvriendelijk varen op open zee.

“Daarnaast hebben we twee schepen zelf nieuwgebouwd op de werf in Polen”, vervolgt de Managing Director. Het zijn de Glomar Pride en de Linde G, waarvan laatstgenoemde eigendom is van Rederij Groen maar door Glomar Shipmanagement wordt beheerd en ingezet.

De Poolse Globaltic Marine werf in Gdynia is een uiterst dynamisch bedrijf, dat voor de bouw en verbouw van de schepen diverse specialisten inhuurt. “We kunnen daardoor niet alleen snel en binnen budget maar ook volgens onze eigen hoge kwaliteitsstandaards de schepen realiseren”, aldus Ed Pronk.

Momenteel wordt de 4-Winds – een schip van Rederij Groen en een zusterschip van de Glomar Venture – op de werf onderhanden genomen. Het

schip wordt omgebouwd tot Safety Stand-by schip volgens dezelfde specificaties als de Glomar Venture. De Glomar Pride en de Linde G varen intussen in opdracht van oliemaatschappij Total op de Noordzee.

Inmiddels 12 schepen Beschikte Glomar Shipmanagement in 2011 nog over 11 schepen, dankzij de komst van de Pride zijn dat er inmiddels 12. Pronk verwacht overigens dat de 4-Winds het laatste schip zal zijn dat door Glomar Shipmanagement van een bestaand vaartuig wordt omgebouwd tot een Safety and Stand-by schip.

“We gaan vanaf nu uitsluitend nieuwe schepen bouwen”, zegt hij. Niet omdat dit goedkoper zou zijn, maar je kunt op die manier een vaartuig helemaal naar eigen ontwerp realiseren en je hoeft dan dus geen rekening te houden met bestaande afmetingen en inwendige indelingen.

De opmerking over de nieuwbouwplannen leidt uiteraard tot de vraag of er wel behoefte is aan zoveel (nieuwe) schepen.

Volgens Ed Pronk hoef je daar niet aan te twijfelen.

“Er is nog steeds heel veel onderhoudswerk aan bestaande platforms en daar mag je ook de hotelplatforms bijtellen”, meent hij. Bovendien wordt er

nog steeds op de Noordzee geboord naar olie en gas en er zullen volgens de Glomar managing director de komende jaren nog steeds exploitabele velden worden aangesloten op de bestaande pijpleidingnetwerken.

Meer zorgen om de logistiek De expansie die de offshore olie en gasindustrie nog altijd ondergaat, doet volgens Pronk een alsmaar groter wordend beroep op de haven van Den Helder.

“We zijn simpelweg één van de meest gunstig gelegen havens langs de Noordzee en daarom zie je alsmaar meer schepen uit deze industrietak afmeren in Den Helder. We weten inmiddels allemaal dat dit een enorm beroep doet op kaderuimte en gelukkig zijn er vergevorderde plannen om nog meer afmeergelegenheid te realiseren voor de offshore schepen. Maar dat zal niet genoeg blijken te zijn. Want als je meer kaderuimte realiseert, trekt dat nog weer meer schepen en dus activiteiten aan. Fantastisch voor de werkgelegenheid en voor Den Helder als havenstad, maar tegelijkertijd levert het nog meer knelpunten op in de logistieke afhandeling”.

Ed Pronk wil er niet zo heel veel over kwijt, maar het is duidelijk dat hij zich zorgen maakt over de vertragingen die het aanen afvoerende wegverkeer ondergaat in de stad Den Helder (op de routes van en naar de havenkades) en op de aanvoerwegen naar de stad.

“We missen steeds meer een goede autosnelweg tussen hetzij Alkmaar en de A9, hetzij Den Oever en de A7”, meent hij. “Wanneer er meer schepen komen, die voor hun bevoorrading een beroep doen op Helderse ondernemingen, zullen we meer opslagruimte nodig hebben nabij de stad.

Die vrachtwagens zijn in feite de levensader van de Helderse economie. Die moeten we zo goed mogelijk ruim baan geven op hun weg naar hier en terug”.

Maar Pronk signaleert dat ondanks de recente verbeteringen van de N9 het vrachtverkeer nog steeds kwetsbaar is doordat de weg twee baans is en bij een ongeval gelijk voor langere tijd geblokkeerd wordt.

“Het geldt ook voor de N99”, meent hij en hij zegt dat je redelijk

Alleen zullen met name politici dit moeten willen realiseren en dat stuit intussen al decennia lang op een trage behandeling.

Hetzelfde geldt voor de aan- en afvoerwegen in de stad Den Helder richting havenkades.

“Je ziet vooral op vrijdagen en zaterdagen enorme opstoppingen vanwege het samenkomen van zowel de Texelgangers als de offshore vrachtwagens”,

hun beurt om over te varen. Nu lopen ze dat risico vanwege de congestie op de aanvoerwegen en de claim die het offshore vrachtverkeer op die wegen legt.

“Je kunt de vrachtwagens geen alternatieve route naar de havens bieden zolang bijvoorbeeld de Ravelijnbrug er niet is”, besluit hij. Maar over die brug wordt in Den Helder ook al sinds medio jaren tachtig van de vorige eeuw gediscussieerd...

Glomar Shipmanagement verwacht te kunnen blijven bijdragen aan de groei van de Helderse economie maar Pronk blijft zitten met zorgen om de logistiek. Het lijkt zo langzamerhand een kip/ei vraag te worden.

“Straks moeten we nog weer de oude opstelplaatsen langs de Helderse Zeedijk in gebruik nemen”, oppert hij. Vroeger stonden daar soms urenlang de Texelgangers te wachten op

The conference, taking place at London City’s Landmark Hotel, is part of the weeklong World NOC Congress.

The Siemens´ Spinsep flotation skid-mounted unit will be supplied for a water treatment system in the Petrocedeño oil field in Venezuela.

SNF selects Siemens’ produced water treatment system for enhanced oil recovery Siemens Energy is supplying SNF SAS, France, a chemical company specialized on polymers, with a produced water treatment system as part of the company’s plant expansion in the Petrocedeño oil field, located in the Orinoco Belt in Venezuela. The system includes a Spinsep vertical flotation unit and a Monosep high flow walnut shell filter to treat 10,000 BWPD (barrels water per day) of produced water as part of the Petrocedeño EOR Polymer Field Test Project. The equipment is scheduled to be operational by the end of October, 2012 and will be deployed on site in 2013.

The produced water treatment system used on this project will enable the polymer plant to mix the treated water with their polymers for reinjection in the well to enhance oil recovery.

Water will first flow to the Spinsep system for primary oil/ water separation and then flow through the Monosep high flow

walnut shell filter for tertiary treatment.

The vertical design and compact footprint of both the Spinsep flotation system and the Monosep high flow walnut shell filter makes the system more economical than a typical flotation system. Additionally, the internal scrubbing design of

the walnut shell filter eliminates external backwash system and its associated pumps, making operation easier and more trouble-free.

SNF is the world leading manufacturer of polymers used in water treatment, oil and gas, and mineral extraction applications. It is headquartered in France, with several R&D and production facilities throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia.

SNF SAS is the contracting company for this project.

Petrocedeño is a joint venture between Venezuela-based PDVSA (60%), France-based Total (30%) and Norway-based Statoil (10%). It is exploiting oil fields in the Orinoco belt of Venezuela. PDVSA is in charge of operating and developing the fields on this project.

10 year Amarcon anniversary proved to be an enjoyable day Started out as a one man operation in 2002, Amarcon evolved to a key player in the field of decision support systems for all kinds of sea-going vessels. The main product of Amarcon, OCTOPUS-Onboard, has already been installed on nearly two hundred vessels, in segments like offshore construction, heavy lift, navy, ferries, container shipping and bulk transportation. On Thursday the 14th of June Amarcon organized a festive reception to celebrate her ten year existence onboard the former cruise ship the ss Rotterdam.

During the celebration onboard the ss Rotterdam, several members of the Amarcon staff met with clients and other relations for a guided tour on the more than fifty year old

ss Rotterdam, followed by an informal reception in the ‘Ambassador Lounge’ onboard the vessel. During the event Amarcon launched a special magazine about the past ten

years, filled with achieved milestones, client stories and interviews with Amarcon employees.

Alewijnse verwerft opdracht voor ombouw jack-ups Atlantic London en Atlantic Amsterdam Alewijnse Marine Systems levert een belangrijke bijdrage aan de ombouw van de Atlantic London en de Atlantic Amsterdam, jack-up platforms die dienst zullen doen als offshorehotels. Beide refits starten in juli 2012 en hebben een looptijd van enkele maanden. in Batam, Indonesië. In dezelfde maand komt Atlantic Amsterdam aan bij scheepswerf Scheldepoort Repair & Conversion Yard in Vlissingen.

Met deze belangrijke opdracht van Nordica Offshore herbevestigt Alewijnse zijn positie in de markt voor offshore refits en retrofits.

Het bedrijf bewijst opnieuw dat het uitgebreide vaardigheden en capaciteiten heeft en kan bijdragen aan gecompliceerde projecten. In 2011 heeft Alewijnse Marine Systems met succes een belangrijke bijdrage geleverd aan de vergelijkbare ombouw van de jack-up Atlantic Labrador.

Tijdens de omvangrijke projecten zal van elke platform de boorinstallatie - inclusief de hoge boortoren, geleider en cementen moddertanks - volledig van het platform verwijderd worden.

Alle overige boorapparatuur en overbodige kabels en pijpen worden eveneens verwijderd. Tegelijkertijd zal een accommodatiesectie worden gebouwd die op het dek geplaatst wordt. De bestaande accommodatie wordt volledig gerenoveerd en er zullen ook nieuwe reddingsboten en bijbehorende apparatuur worden geïnstalleerd. Daarnaast wordt het platform voorzien van stabilisatiepompen zodat aan de vereiste voorschriften wordt voldaan.

Voetballen voor een goed doel Offshore-bedrijventoernooi brengt olie- en gassector bij elkaar DEN HELDER - Op het voetbalterrein van HCSC vindt zaterdag 30 juni een groots voetbaltoernooi plaats: de North Sea Energy Soccer Cup. Een toernooi waaraan offshoregerelateerde bedrijven meedoen. "Maar iedereen is welkom om een kijkje te komen nemen", vertelt organisator Dennis Schouwenaar enthousiast. "Er is muziek, een hapje, een drankje en de kinderen kunnen zich onder meer vermaken op het springkussen." Aan deze voetbaldag is een goed doel gekoppeld; er wordt geld opgehaald voor KiKa. De North Sea Energy Soccer Cup is een initiatief van Offshore Media Events. "Er werd altijd al een voetbaltoernooi georganiseerd voor de olie- en gassector, maar dat bestaat niet meer. Wij hebben dat weer opgepakt. Dat is meteen goed ontvangen. We kregen al snel aanmeldingen binnen vanuit heel Nederland en konden zelfs niet alle teams toelaten. Met 24 teams waarvan dertien uit Den Helder - en in totaal driehonderd voetballers ĂŠn voetbalsters is het limiet bereikt."

Het toernooi wordt georganiseerd om de olie- en gassector bij elkaar te brengen. "In Den Helder is dit een belangrijke sector. Met een dag als deze kunnen we iedereen weer bij elkaar brengen en hen de kans geven om te kunnen netwerken.

De bedoeling is om er een jaarlijks terugkerend evenement van te maken. Met meer velden, zodat meer teams - met ook bedrijven uit het buitenland - mee kunnen doen."

Begrotelijk Het bedrijventoernooi is door Offshore Media Events professioneel aangepakt. Dat resulteerde in een goede respons van sponsors. "Ook de bedrijven die niet met het toernooi mee wilden of konden doen, sponsorden het evenement allemaal." Dennis koos ervoor om geld op te halen

voor KiKa (Kinderen Kanker Vrij). "Ik ben zelf vader van drie kinderen. Ik vind het aangrijpend om zieke kinderen te zien; zeker als het gaat om kanker. Er is veel geld nodig voor onderzoek naar deze ziekte en dus voelde het goed om voor dit doel te kiezen."

Vis Wethouder Kees Visser geeft om 9.30 uur de aftrap, waarna om 10.00 uur de wedstrijden beginnen. Deze zijn ingedeeld in de recreatieve klasse en de wedstrijdklasse. Het terrein is vrij toegankelijk. Iedereen kan naar de wedstrijden komen kijken, genieten van de klanken van de aanwezige brassband, een visje van de visafslag nuttigen of met de kinderen naar het springkussen; ook is er voor de kids gratis popcorn en limonade. "'s Avonds is er bovendien in de kantine een netwerkavond met een topband, met onder meer de bassiste van Candy Dulfer: Lydia van der Meer. Ook deze avond is iedereen welkom. Het evenement is namelijk niet alleen voor de offshore, maar voor heel Den Helder bedoeld!"

Senior Technicus E&I Offshore

Het begeleiden van werkzaamheden in de offshore industrie is een uitdagende job waarbij je moet kunnen improviseren en flexibel moet zijn. Het is een combinatie van complexe logistiek, goede planning, inkoop, financiële bewaking en techniek. Als E&I Engineer ben je verantwoordelijk voor het in juiste conditie houden van alle elektrische installaties en meet- en regelinstallaties aan boord van het platform met in achtneming van de veiligheid-, gezondheid- en milieuregels.

Je werkt zelfstandig en begeleidt alle modificatie- en onderhoudswerkzaamheden die offshore en mogelijk onshore plaatsvinden. Het aansturen en coördineren van buitenfirma’s is ook onderdeel van je werkzaamheden. Op dit moment zoeken wij E&I Engineers voor diverse locaties t.w; Den Helder, Hoofddorp en Zoetermeer

Naast onderhouds-, storing-, en reparatiewerkzaamheden op E&I gebied heb je mogelijk ook nevenfuncties in het helicopter landing team, manoverboardteam, fire fightingteam of het bedienen van een offshore kraan. 20 windmolens leveren groene stroom voor 60.000 huishoudens

Eneco bouwt groot windpark in Delfzijl Rotterdam, 15 juni 2012 - Eneco gaat Windpark Delfzijl Noord volledig zelf realiseren.

Het duurzame energiebedrijf heeft daarover overeenstemming bereikt met KDE Energy en WindWise, de ontwikkelaars van het park. Het windpark, dat een capaciteit krijgt van 60 tot 65 MegaWatt, komt op terreinen van Groningen Seaports. Eind dit jaar al wordt gestart met de bouw. Medio 2014 zal het park operationeel zijn. Eneco investeert meer dan 80 miljoen euro in het project.

Omdat de ontwikkelfase nu is afgerond en de bouwfase gaat beginnen, neemt Eneco ontwikkelaar WindWise over.

Eneco heeft veel ervaring met de bouw van windparken en door de transactie wordt Eneco als enige partij verantwoordelijk voor de bouw.

Het windpark zal bestaan uit 18 tot 20 windturbines van circa 150 meter hoog (tiphoogte), die komen te staan op de Schermdijk en de Pier van Oterdum in Delfzijl. Vlakbij bouwt Eneco momenteel de grootste biomassacentrale van Nederland: Eneco Bio Golden Raand. De realisatie van beide projecten betekent dat Eneco op relatief korte termijn nog meer duurzame energie van Nederlandse bodem aan haar klanten kan gaan leveren. De twee worden samen goed voor groene stroom voor zo’n 180.000 huishoudens.

Windpark Delfzijl Noord kent een lange geschiedenis. Elf jaar geleden ontstonden de eerste plannen. Het park is ontwikkeld door Millenergy.

Nadat de gemeenteraad van Delfzijl eind 2010 had ingestemd met de wijziging van het bestemmingsplan, zijn de benodigde vergunningen na een uitspraak van de Raad van State in december 2011 onherroepelijk geworden.

WindWise werkte bij dit project samen met KDE Energy in Millenergy. Millenergy treedt in Delfzijl niet alleen op als ontwikkelaar van Delfzijl Noord, maar ook van andere windprojecten binnen de gemeente. Eneco en KDE Energy willen samen met de gemeente Delfzijl en de provincie Groningen blijven zoeken naar passende locaties voor windenergie.

Found Ocean is pleased to announce that Ambienta SGR, Europe’s largest private equity fund focused on the environmental sector, has signed an agreement to acquire a 35% stake in the company.

Jim Bell, Managing Director at FoundOcean explained, “We are delighted that Ambienta has chosen to invest in FoundOcean as it makes the transition from a 40-person company to 100 and beyond. The investment will enable FoundOcean to continue with its forecasted growth strategy of expanding its high profile presence in the offshore renewables sector by building additional grout mixing equipment, and employing more engineers and operational personnel.”

FoundOcean has completed foundation grouting for four offshore renewables contracts since 2010 including Ormonde

and Thornton Bank offshore wind farms, and has been awarded a further three offshore wind farms comprising a total of 248 structures, starting in 2012.
