DROPOUT RECOVERY CareerTech’s dropout recovery program helps students who exited in high school to earn their diplomas and gain skills to enter the workforce. • 1,093 students - 504 females, 489 males (602 dropped out before junior year of high school) • 365 earned high school diploma • 12 passed high school equivalency test • 193 obtained employment • 20 entered the military • 116 enrolled in postsecondary education

ADULT BASIC EDUCATION Oklahomans are provided instruction annually through CareerTech’s Adult Basic Education programs. 30 ABE providers at 67 sites. 9,500 students working on high school equivalency 4,700 correctional center students 1,900 English literacy/civics students 16,100 total students served 331,202* Oklahomans 25 years and older are eligible for ABE services. 136,722 enrollments
CareerTech programs are available to students in sixth through 12th grades in Oklahoma’s comprehensive schools. Thirty-six percent (121,016) of Oklahoma 6th-12th-grade students were enrolled in CareerTech courses. Nearly half (83,321) of Oklahoma 9th-12th-grade students were enrolled in CareerTech classes. 156,673 secondary CareerTech enrollments (some students take more than one offering)

In FY16, 29 technology center districts operated on 58 campuses throughout the state, making services easily accessible to most Oklahomans. High school student enrollments in technology centers totaled 19,951. Adult enrollments in career programs, industry-specific training, Adult and Career Development and Training for Industry were 337,031.

DID YOU KNOW . . . In FY16 Oklahoma CareerTech System graduates added more than $3.5 billion annually to the state’s economy. Oklahoma CareerTech annual enrollments totaled more than 500,000. Thirty-six percent (121,016) of Oklahoma 6th-12th-grade students were enrolled in CareerTech courses. Nearly half (83,321) of Oklahoma 9th-12th-grade students were enrolled in CareerTech classes. More than 88,000 students learned important leadership skills in CareerTech student organizations. CareerTech helped 7,092 Oklahoma businesses increase sales, improve productivity, reduce costs and expand operations. Oklahoma CareerTech Skills Centers through 1,708 enrollments offered specialized training to adult and juvenile offenders. Student placement in FY15 was 93 percent (continuing education, employed and military). Oklahoma CareerTech students earned 14,762 certificates and/or industry-recognized credentials. Oklahoma CareerTech students earned 15,191 Career Readiness Certificates.
