Strategic Planning Process The process was developed by the agency strategic planning process team, published for public comments and approved by senior leaders in October 2014. This formalized process will be followed in the future as the agency’s strategic planning process continues to evolve and progress. Define Future Evaluate and Modify
Assure students have the knowledge and skills to make informed career choices and to create education plans to be prepared for those careers. • Deploy statewide online career development system for kindergarten through adult students. • Improve student transition to college and careers. • Strengthen the connection between students and industry. • Promote career exploration through awareness of career options. • Increase student engagement and motivation through business collaboration and involvement.
Conduct Gap Analysis
Assure students know how to analyze issues, resolve problems, work with others and adapt to complex workplaces. • Develop and benchmark performance measures in creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and interpersonal/communications skills. • Identify and demonstrate academic and technical skill set within CareerTech programs. • Develop leadership, collaboration and soft skills through CareerTech student organization involvement.

Develop students’ technical knowledge and skills required to succeed in postsecondary education or careers or to advance within careers. • Increase the number of students obtaining industry credentials, certificates and licenses. • Increase the number of students entering the military or study- related occupations or continuing their education in fields related to their studies. (related placement) • Increase the average wage for those individuals employed in fields related to their studies. • Increase the number of students entering the military or study-related or non-related employment or continuing their education. (positive placement) • Increase the number of enrollees who completed CareerTech studies and are attending college or other postsecondary education.
