Goals — 2017-2021 Business/Educational Partnerships Goal Collaborate with key business and educational partnerships to expand economic development and improve education experiences for students, including diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Objectives • Expand state advisory councils. • Lead Oklahoma industry/education partnership experiences to expand students’ and teachers’ knowledge of Oklahoma careers.
• Expand partnerships to meet workforce demands by increasing collaboration with other agencies and organizations. • Establish a baseline through a customer satisfaction survey of Oklahoma’s current and future workforce and review semiannually.
Educational Attainment Goal Provide Oklahomans with the skills and abilities needed to enter the workforce and postsecondary education.
Objectives • Communicate career pathways that align with Oklahoma’s workforce needs.
Career Awareness Goal Assure Oklahomans have the knowledge and skills to make informed career choices and be better equipped to enter the workforce.
Objectives • Expand career planning to individualized career plans for all students.
• Increase credentials and certifications. • Increase number of Career Readiness Certificates. • Develop baseline and increase number of high-quality professional development/ technical support opportunities. • Ensure average positive placement for state exceeds 90 percent. • Increase participation and engagement in CareerTech student organizations.
• Increase student engagement with business collaborations and involvement. • Communicate work-based learning opportunities. • Outline current career exploration in the state. • Expand okcareerguide.org to enhance each objective.
