GREENWAY TO BE UNVEILED AFTER REVAMP Monton and Swinton residents are invited to the launch of the fully revamped Swinton Greenway. The cycling and walking route, that runs from the A6 Manchester Road to Monton Road, has experienced a £6m transformation and will fully open to the public at an event on Saturday 11th June, 11am to 3pm. The event will take place at the fields near Swinton Football Club, just off Overdale in Swinton, with many exciting family activities including smoothie and boogie bikes, children’s craft making, street performers or you can even try riding an electric bike. Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett will cut the ribbon to open the route which is expected to be very popular
with cyclists and walkers. It will have 30 entrances available for residents to access it and it has been widened to 3.5m in places to make it more open. Paul Dennett said: “Our revamped Swinton Greenway will be used and loved by cyclists and walkers alike. It is now easier to walk on and cycle, more open to Swinton and Monton residents and is able to be used day and night, 365 days a year with the sensor lighting”. “I can’t wait to fully unveil this new route and get on my bike to make as much use of this traffic-free route as I can.” So make sure you add this date to your diary and we look forward to seeing you there.

No experience necessary, just a willingness to work hard as part of our team (and in all weathers!) Starting pay for 18-20 year olds: £7.00 p/h (rising to £7.70).
