Mixed Tower Hamlets ODL East Drop-in Positive East, 159 Mile End Rd, London E1 4AQ. Come and join our friendly East London afternoon social. We will include ‘A Voice for Older People’ as a regular slot in the last half hour of our drop-ins. This is an opportunity to give your views on services in Tower Hamlets, whether you live, work, or socialise in the borough and this will be fed back to the Older People’s Reference Group. A representative from the newly formed Tower Hamlets LGBTQ Community Forum will be coming to speak to the group and see where we might be able to work together Drop in any time between 4pm – 6pm

The Breakfast Club, 5-9 Battersea Rise, London SW11 1HG The team from The Breakfast Club are providing free tea and coffee for ODL members at this peer led monthly social. Just turn up to meet other ODL members. Sometimes The Breakfast Club team will be able to pop in to say hello too. Travel: 0.5 miles walk from Clapham Junction Railway Station. Buses 35 and 37 pass Clapham Common Northern line underground station 1.1 miles away and stop outside the café at the “Eccles Road” bus stop.

Lumen Café, 88 Tavistock Place, London WC1H 9RS On the second and fourth Monday of the month the wonderful Black Olive Cooks at the lovely Lumen Café will provide space for ODL members to play Bridge and Scrabble. If you’d like to join in a game of Bridge just bring two packs of playing cards, a pen and scrap paper. Scrabble boards will be provided. Lumen Café are offering ODL members discounted tea for 50p and filter coffee for 80p.

Peter will be joined by his Camden Guide colleague, Alan Fortune, to explore Ealing, long known as the Queen of the Suburbs. Hear about Ealing Studios and its famous film industry connections and discover one of Ealing’s gems, Pitzhanger Manor, Sir John Saone’s elegant country home. You will learn about a club that changed the face of rock and roll, dark events in the Borough’s history and about television’s most famous timetravelling Doctor.

While we will be able to use footpaths, alongside some green areas, you will need to be mindful of road safety as controlled crossing are limited. This is your personal responsibility. People can easily leave at each stage, if they choose. We will aim to be returning to London from Colindale Underground before 4.30.
