Saturday 5th London Gay Symphonic Winds (LGSW) presents: “Britain/America – an evening of music from all sides of the pond”. St Sepulchre-WithoutNewgate, Holborn Viaduct, EC1A 2DQ. Following on from their hugely popular performance at February’s event and on request from members, we are organising an ODL outing to our see our friends from the LGSW at their exciting “Britain/America” concert. Tonight, continuing our “Faith and Culture” series, we look west to Ireland, and welcome Cecily Maher, Senior Community Health Worker with Mind Yourself. Mind Yourself supports the health and wellbeing of Irish people living in London and facilitates the only Irish LGBT group in London. Cecily will provide a screening of the Irish documentary ‘The Love That Dare Not Speak Its Name’. This looks back on a history of the development of gay rights in Ireland over 100 years from Oscar Wilde up to decriminalisation in 1993. This will be followed by a discussion on being Irish and LGBT. 6:00 -7:00pm social; 7-9pm film and discussion.

We are hoping that we will have timed our visit to see the beautiful rhododendron & azaleas in bloom in the gardens. There will be the opportunity to go for long walks over Hampstead Heath for those who wish to or to sit and contemplate the views. Very good café too.
