GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE

Happy Summer!

It sure is nice to look out my office window and see the pool full of people and the parking lot packed with golfers. Summer is by far my favorite season and I am happy that it has made it's appearance!

Pool

Speaking of the pool, I wanted to note a few things as we get into the season:

Please sign in when you get to the pool area. When you walk into the pool house there is a signup sheet where you get your towels Please also sign in any guests you may have as well.

Guest policy for the pool is that any local guest (within 50 miles) is only allowed to come out once per calendar month. There is a fee of $8/guest. No outside drink or food is allowed in the pool area.

Nannies are allowed to bring your kids to the pool, but please make sure we have them added to your account. Just send Macy an email at macy@oxbowcc.com and she can be sure to get them added for you

Shacks

As of Memorial Day, the shacks are now open. They will be open set hours each day, so you will know when they are open and there will be consistency

North Shack: 10am-8:30pm

South Shack: 11am-8:30pm

The closing times will adjust as the sunset does so expect those times to go to 9pm as we get into June. Please note on Mondays the opening times will be 12pm as the course opens at noon

Annual Meeting Reminder

Our annual meeting this year will be held on June 12th at 6pm. This meeting is open to all of our members (only stockholders are able to vote).

During this meeting, we will review the year that was 2022, and look at 2023 so far, as well as what we expect moving forward

Agenda:

Financial of 2022

2023 Membership Update and Financial Forecast

Membership

One last thing I wanted to touch on is membership. MEMBERSHIP EXPERIENCE

It is officially Summer and boy does it feel good! It has been great to see you all back on the course and spending more time at the club. We also have welcomed back seasonal staff and hired many new faces, it is a really fun time of the year at the club!

In addition to the lovely weather and new staff, I am very excited about our social events this month! Your kids have two opportunities' in June to participate in an Oxbow Kids Night. On June 2nd and June 23rd, the kids can join us for a night of fun while Mom and Dad have a relaxing night in the restaurant. This summer we want to take advantage of the weather Those who sign up will get to play at Oxbow Park with their friends, make art with sidewalk chalk, play kickball, and participate in all sorts of other fun activities. I can't wait to hang out with the kids. I know we will have a blast, so be sure to sign them up in the app!

This month we also have our first ladies' theme night scramble of the season! On June 7th come on out for Ladies in the 80's. I cannot wait to see what outfits you ladies come up with, I have high expectations:)

We also will have our first pool party of the season on June 11th. Reservations on the app are not required but they are very helpful for us! We will be enjoying music, eating BBQ food, and playing on inflatables It does not get better than that!

Don't forget that Monday-Thursday from 1-4 we have crafts in the pool and on Fridays BINGO is called poolside from 2-3:30. These activities are a great way to break up the day and fill the summer with fun.

Switching gears now to talk about membership. We have four golf memberships available for new members or for those looking to upgrade. If this is something you are considering or know of someone who is interested, please let me know! As it currently stands we have a handful of social memberships available. Once these memberships have been filled we will be at club capacity! Now is the time to tell all your friends to join, we would love to have them join us!

As always if you have suggestions about membership, or want to talk about events at the club, please email me or stop down to chat! My door is always open!

FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER UPDATE

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone has had a great May! I think it’s safe to say we are all ready for SUMMER! It’s crazy how quick we went from 100 feet of snow to 90 degree weather! The pool has been busy busy, the opening weekend was a huge success!

May sure did fly past! It was a fun packed and exciting month! We sure have been busy worker bees, from kid’s night, little parties and events here and there I want to give a shout out to everyone who came and enjoyed Mother’s Day Brunch, it was a huge success! Viva Las Ladies sure was quite the event, it’s one of my favorite events of the year! We also had our first wedding of the year, and that went really well!

Coming up for the month of June, some things to look forward to; we have Kid’s Night on the 2nd, and that will be a fun day for the kiddo’s. Then moving along in the month, we have our first pool party, JR. Golf Camp, and then Battle at the Bow! Make sure you stay tuned to Macy, and the event guide for the info on what’s going on here at the club!

I hope everyone has had a chance to check out our new menu’s! We rolled out with new menu’s for all locations, so if you haven’t had the chance to see them, come on out to the club!

Another thing to keep on your radar, with the new golf/summer season here, you will also start to see some new faces, as well as some familiar ones, as staff starts to return for the upcoming season. Don’t be afraid to say hello, and give them a warm Oxbow welcome!

Have a GREAT June! Can’t wait to see you enjoying your club! Cheers!

CHEF'S CORNER

Hello Oxbow!

Summer is finally here! The pool is open, and the clubhouse is bustling. With the warmer weather brings the new menu. We have made a few adjustments to everything. You may have noticed that it does seem a bit smaller. There is good reason for that. It all comes down to staffing. Just like any other business we are also feeling the pinch of finding quality people. The staff I do have on currently were getting a bit overloaded with the amount of foods to prep I had to hit the pressure release valve One major stressor was our Sunday brunch menu. It was bittersweet cutting brunch. It was something I had to do to preserve my staff. I can be the best chef in the world, but, If I don’t have a staff to execute everything, I am nothing So, I appreciate everyone’s patience while we make this transition We promise to have brunch back in the fall.

Sushi! Another unfortunate cut that I had to make This one, however, will be coming back in the very near future. With the amount of new members we have, I need to be able to wrap my head around everything first. My mantra on this is… I’d rather do 50 things really really well than 100 things mediocre. With that said I want everyone to know I appreciate any feedback you may have. Good or bad please feel free to email myself chef@oxbowcc.com or any of the other management. As you all know, it’s very hard to fix a problem that you aren’t aware of.

- Chef Scott

CHEF SCOTT'S TIP OF THE MONTH:

GRILLING FISH

For this month’s recipe…. I don’t have one. What I am instead offering is a tip for grilling fish Particularly flaky fish

If it’s something you have never done before the task can be a little daunting especially if you have guests over Clean your grill! I cannot stress this enough A wire brush will go a long way in keeping it clean and maintaining the life of the grill. The best way to do this is turning your grill on high and burning any leftover food scraps Once this is done give it a good brushing with your wire brush. Prepping the grill for the fish… Once the grill is clean take a towel that you don’t mind destroying and squirt a neutral oil on it Then rub the grates down with the oil-soaked towel This will “season” the grill. Now you will season the fish with whatever you like. Then spray the fish with a non-stick spray Place the fish on a medium-high surface temperature A lot of people’s first instinct is to let the fish sit for a couple minutes and then want to flip it. If the fish seems to be sticking leave it alone! What you want is for the miared reaction This is the browning of the natural sugars. Once this has taken place the fish will release from the grill naturally. It is then ready to flip I hope this little tip helps you this grilling season I’ll see you all around the club!

GOLF SHOP UPDATE

With the coming of June begins the start of the busy time at Oxbow CC. We want to make you aware of any tournaments we have during the month so you can plan accordingly. They are as follows:

May 31 – EDC Boy’s Tournament (9:00 AM Tee Times)

June 5 – Grover Athletic Fundraiser (11:00 AM Shotgun)

June 15-17 – Battle at the Bow

June 26 – Special Olympics (11:00 AM Shotgun)

June 27 – Dakota Junior Golf Association (8:30 AM Tee Times)

Congratulations to the winners of our Member-Member Tournament:

Once a month in the summer we offer discounted guest fees. The normal accompanied guest rate is $110.00. The reduced rate is $60.00. We offer the discounted rate to help generate more guest rounds. The dates we have set for 2022 are June 19th, July 17th and August 7th Please take advantage of this excellent discount!

We are still observing issues with golfers driving golf carts into areas golf carts are not allowed to travel into. Please make sure you follow these guidelines:

Carts need to remain on the cart path on all Par 3’s No carts in the long grass/fescue

Carts need to be parked on cart paths when you are by tees and greens

You must have a drivers license to drive any club carts or member carts

Observe all directional signage and ropes restricting areas of no travel

NEWS FROM THE FAIRWAY

Our staffing levels will become complete in the coming weeks. Like all new members in our department, we will be spending hours training for safety and quality of work. Detail work to improve course conditions will be done on a more routine basis as the new staff becomes familiar with the routines. Several of our new staff have been recommended by members, thank you for your help with recruiting.

The bridges on #15 and 18 tees we believe moved due to fluctuations of the ice on the lake this spring. We have had a local company evaluate the issue and are on their schedule for repairs to the structure on #15.

The bridge on hole 18 will need to be repaired after the golf course closes this fall due to routing issues. We will keep everyone updated when there is more information.

Cart path expansion by the putting green and through hole 9 went well. Restoral work has been completed and we are seeing new seedlings growing along the construction. Please do not walk or drive on the newly seeded soil, we will be watering frequently.

With the amount of play the golf course is receiving please repair all ball marks and fill divots. Keep golf carts out of the native areas and stay on cart paths around greens and tees.

See you on the course.
