So, while dad is a skilled estate attorney who can’t turn a wrench (by his own admission) his son is learning engines from the inside out installing main bearings, crank, journals, and putting horsepower together. The Ratner men share the same thought; “Porsche’s are all inherently cool. Once you learn there is always someone prettier, faster, or with more money, you appreciate the character of what you have.” Ryan adds, “Don’t forget, it is always more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow”! Noah smiles, and one can see his wheels turning, with the dreams of a Martini livery 924 at a PCA Gold Coast autocross event, or driving the Tail of the Dragon in western North Carolina. Mr. Noah Ratner has a bright future. His head is on straight with quite a few goals in his sights. It will be fun for dad to watch, encourage, and contribute to his passion and share their mutual enjoyment of the Porsche marque. It will be fun for all of us as we watch this young man grow. His enthusiasm is catching. The Ratner apple tree is ripe with fruit. Gravity, watch out.

Happy Independence Day! by Christy Spangler, Director
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe 4th of July! Like you all probably are, I am ready to hit the road, visit family and friends and get a change of scenery. Need some travel gear? Check out the GCR goodie store! The duffle bag I ordered is nice and bigger than I expected - now I am ready for summer travel especially to the upcoming Escape to the Cape and the October getaway to the mountains. Check out the merchandise at https:// goldcoast.pcawebstore.org. I placed an order with the goodie store when Peter announced it on April 27th. I received my order on May 20th. The website says that orders may take longer due to COVID, but I was surprised it took as long as it did. If you make an order, just be aware of that. It was nice to see some folks wearing their goodie store gear at the June Porsches & Pancakes. Just a reminder of the regularly scheduled GCR events - the first Saturday Porsches and Pancakes and the third Thursday happy hours. Stay tuned to the enews email blasts for these and other events that are added to the schedule. I would like to thank everyone who participated in this feature. I was pleased with the response and was able to include twelve great stories. If you have a story you would like to submit, please reach out to myself or Roger Fabel. This organization is about the members and I would like to hear from you- thoughts, ideas, concerns - you can email me at christyspangler@yahoo.com. I also encourage you to volunteer for events and attend the board/membership meetings or watch them via the GCR Facebook group to see what is going on in the club. Hope to see you at an upcoming event soon. Travel safe and stay healthy.
