President’s Corner Steve Kidd - President

As I write this article, and we enter a more active period in the 2020 hurricane season, we can be thankful that we dodged major damage from Hurricane Isaias. To make matters worse the effects of the Covid 19 Pandemic continue to cause uncertainty and change the way we get together. With Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties still at record high rates of new Covid 19 cases and no gatherings of more that 10 people in the tri county area, we must turn our efforts to virtual events and very small gatherings to help stay engaged .For now we should stay safe and continue to explore new ways to stay connected. So what’s in store for the rest of the year???currently in the planning stages are the following: AutoX...Steve and Dottie have 1 “for sure” AX scheduled for September 12th at Sebring, This runs in conjunction with the DE offered by Suncoast Region that weekend. Registration is open on Club Registration and registrants can also sign the Covid 19 wavier on Club registration. Expect to see masks, social distancing, only 1 person in a car while participating and a host of other changes. Additionally, depending on the availability of sites,we hope to have 2 more AutoX’s,possibly mid November and early December. Watch for e-mail blasts for more AX information Socials...These events present the biggest challenges. Expect to see things like small outdoor gatherings, Pop-up car shows, informal non-PCA drives and virtual events. With the Covid-19 restrictions slightly more relaxed in the northernmost part of our region, you may see this area with the 1st events. (while adhering to local restrictions)

Charity...GCR still has hopes of participating in 2 children s hospital drives in December, however these most likely will be very different from last year...Possibly as drive by’s with some form of unique message ... Concours... Still up in the air at this time, ....expect to see change in keeping with the times Tours...the Multi-day drive to Little Switzerland in North Carolina is scheduled for late October. Check Club registration to add your name to the “save the date”listing. Like last year, this will be a blast, but limited DE ..Track events have been run by several other regions utilizing Covid-19 best practices and we still have hopes on doing a DE at Homestead October 31/November 1. Most likely no in car instruction, but possibly lead-follow. Now for some important business reminders..... In the next few months , GCR members will be invited to cast their votes for Officer/Director candidates for 2021/2022. Please review the bios published in this Kassette and on the web site and ask yourself …..who has the Region’s best interests at heart? Who do you see at a wide range of activities and taking leadership roles at events? Which candidates have a proven track record? Members will be sent a unique invitation to the e-mail address of record from Election Runner, our independent election vendor,to vote electronically. It should take less than a minute to vote, so I encourage you to participate. Here is more detail on how the election process works, as taken from our by-laws

“Preferably, all voting shall be by done by secure, electronic form although traditional, non-electronic paper ballots may be used as well to supplement where needed. Each GCR member in good standing at the time of the elections may log into the designated web address between October 15 and November 15 and after accessing the site using the necessary and individually specific security keys, he/she shall proceed to fill in the different choices in the electronic ballot. Electronic voting will only allow each member to vote once. In the case that an active, family-active, associate or family associate member requests it, the Secretary will send one nonelectronic, write-in ballot to that member by the U.S. Postal Service. The Secretary shall prepare a written ballot listing the names of all the nominees for each of the offices for which there will be a vote taken and that ballot will be replicated in electronic form at the voting website. If only one nominee is submitted for any office, then that nominee is deemed to be elected. The name of any such unopposed nominees will appear on the ballot but no voting will be required for their election. Non electronic, write-in ballots must be returned to the U.S. Postal Service address indicated on the ballot and postmarked no later than November 15th. Ballots shall remain sealed until opened all together at the same time by the Nominating Committee for tabulation.” Hoping to see you at an event when we can get together face to face...and remember to vote …Steve

Editor’s Notes How have you been spending time with your Porsche during these different times of social distancing and limited GCR events? It has been a different experience for us all. Many of us have used the extra down time to tackle a backlog of projects. Many of our readers have shared their Porsche stories in the Kassette that would have normally been reporting a list of social and track events. To help with the process of sharing our Porsche stories we have come up with a new GCR program. Start-

Roger Fabel- Editor

ing with the October issue of the Kassette we are starting a monthly contest to share your Porsche photos. The “Porsche of the Month” contest flyer is displayed below. One of our staff writers, Christy Spangler will be in charge of the program. Please send us your best photos and lets continue to share Porsche Art with our club of over 3000 members. You will find more details about you photo submissions on page 27. Good luck and thank you in advance. Our cover photo and featured

story is about two long time PCA members who were impacted by the COVID-19 virus. Their plans to take delivery of this beautiful Porsche 718 Spyder in Germany were not possible because of travel restrictions. The staff at Porsche West Broward stepped up to the plate and helped with their longwaited delivery. They have a longtime love affair with 914’s which you can see in the photos and will read about in future editions of the Kassette. Stay safe and we hope to see you all soon, Roger

Along Came A Spyder… Story by Ron Myers

Photos by Roger Fabel

Back in 1971 at the age of 17 I found myself in the showroom of Ted McWilliams VW/Porsche/Audi in Monroeville, Pa. I was looking to purchase a VW bus with the money that I had saved over the last 5 years as a paperboy. While there a Sunflower Yellow (L13K) 1970 914 on the showroom floor caught my eye. She was one year old and had 24,000 miles on her. I called my girlfriend and asked her which I should buy, the VW or the Porsche. Without hesitation, she said “Get the Porsche!” I can’t remember a thing about the VW Bus but have vivid and fond memories of the 914 that I remember to this day. And so began my nearly 50 year history with the marque. I grew to love Porsches and over the years had six in total, keeping most of them for 5 to 10 years before selling them. And I regret selling every one of them! It’s just that from time to time, life got in the way. In 2001, when my job transferred me to Florida, I had three tucked away in my two-car garage; a gorgeous 1987 911 Cabriolet Summer Yellow (LM1A) with Mahogany top and interior, a 1976 914 2.0 liter Scarlet Red (L31M) with black interior and an ultra-rare 1972 Italian 914 1.7 liter Bahia Red (L30E/1310) with Russet interior and less than 10,000 Km on the odometer (that’s a whole other story that I will write about in a future article.) My eldest was getting ready to go to college so to free up some funds I sold the 1976 914 before moving to Florida and then

10

Die Porsche

after arriving here, regretfully sold the 911 and Italian 914. I kept my membership in PCA but for the next seven years (our sons’ college years) our garage was Porsche-free. Finally, in 2009 I was ready to buy my next Porsche and after a long search found a mint 2006 996 Turbo Cab in Seal Grey Metallic (6B4/Y1) with Light Grey interior and factory wood trim. She was a beauty and my wife Susie and I enjoyed 5 years as her caretaker. I always said the Turbo, for me, was a case of “too much car, not enough driver”. That Mezger engine was a monster. It was during that time we became involved in the Gold Coast Region PCA, attending programs such as Zonefest, Amelia Island, Porsches by the Bay, etc. and concoursing the car. And involved we were! At our first event, Steve and Dottie Kidd welcomed us with open arms and quickly introduced us to Roger and Sherry Fabel, Ed and Beena Kohly, Cynthia Fluhart and Richard Diaz (RIP), Frank (RIP) and Christy Spangler, and the concourse experts Fred Kohly and Peter Olliviere. Susie began help out at registrations and anywhere else she was needed while I would prep the car for show and then help judge classes in which I was not participating. I learned a lot about car care and judging from Fred and Pete-like making sure to clean my door hinges, checking for dust (!) behind the gas, brake and clutch pedals, and using the same yardstick for every car when judging.

Kassette | Sep 2020

We really loved the Turbo Cab but found we weren’t driving it as much as we should have, so in 2013 we sold it locally to its next caretaker. For the next couple of years I was again regretting my decision to de-acquisition my Porsche so I began the hunt for my next car. I had always loved the 914s. Their mid-engine layout made for flat cornering and they drove like a go kart. They had a trunk AND a frunk and were, frankly, cool! In 2016 I finally located a nice 1974 2.0 liter Phoenix Red (L32K) that was actually being sold nearby by Danny Simonson, a local Porsche shop owner and concourse enthusiast. We worked out a deal and I became the new owner. But more importantly, we were back in the club! I still drive the 914 every couple of weeks to keep it lubricated and spry but being 46 years old I am cautious about driving it any great distances which has limited my enjoying regional Porsche events. So, with continued gentle pressure from my wife to buy something we could drive more often, and that had an air conditioner, I started to look for my next Porsche in early 2018. I settled on trying to locate a 2014-16 911 GTS Cabriolet (991.1.) This was the last year of production for the naturally aspirated engine in the non-GT cars. I was particular with my desired spec. It had to be a manual transmission and not Black, White, Silver or Grey. I was also hoping to find a one-owner car with low miles and full service history. Little did I know that I was looking for an unobtanium Porsche, a Unicorn. I looked and looked and looked, setting up search engines on Rennlist, PCAMARKET, Bring a Trailer, CarGurus.com, eBay, CARFAX, Cars. com, etc. but couldn’t find one. I even advertised for over a year in the Panorama CARS WANTED section with no luck. I began to lose faith. In early 2019 I started hearing rumors of a new 2020 718 Spyder in the works. It was to be the third generation (Boxster) Spyder (987, 981, and 982.) This car intrigued me. Unlike the 2016 981 turbocharged four cylinder variant, the 2020 982 was to be equipped with a bespoke 4.0

liter naturally aspirated six cylinder boxer engine, 414 hp, 390 #s of torque, 8000 rpm redline all mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with real wheel vectoring and the entire front suspension borrowed from the 911 GT3. Wow! Plus it was a mid-engined car with a trunk and a frunk (and air conditioning): the great grandson of my beloved 914!! SIGN ME UP!!! Not so fast 914 Boy. I learned that the new Spyder was going to be very difficult to obtain unless you were a Preferred Customer of Porsche or knew Ferry Porsche or someone in the Piech family. I called all of the local dealerships, and some not so local, and kept getting the same story; their allocation was small and since I wasn’t a Preferred Customer my chances were slim to none that I would be able to get one. Damn, another unobtanium unicorn. In August 2019 after my third trip to Porsche West Broward and pleading with Ariel Sommerfleck, their GT cars specialist, to get me one he told me of a secret backdoor way I could try. It seemed that if you took European Delivery then the car won’t count against a dealership’s allocation. “Sue, want to go to Stuttgart next May? Yes?! Done!” We specked our car just the way we wanted it, Racing Yellow, black leather interior with deviated yellow stitching, yellow gauges and seatbelts, carbon fiber trim, 18-way Sport Seats, fire extinguisher, NAV, black wheels, PDLS+,

aluminum gas cap and a few other goodies. I spent the next two months planning the perfect three week trip to Germany, locked in our flights, AirBnBs, admissions to tough-to-get venues, and, of course, time to spend in Stuttgart at the factory museum (especially to see one of the two 914-8s ever built.) Then the S*#% hit the fan: COVID-19, and everything went south. After much stress and many sleepless nights, Porsche approved my car being shipped to the US and would not take away one allocation from Porsche West Broward. Phew, back on track. Susie and I learned that our car arrived in Emden on June 20th and was going to ship on the 26th via the car carrier Siem Cicero. We checked its location 5 times a

day until it got to Davisville, Rhode Island offloaded some cars before sailing on to Jacksonville, Florida. It took 26 days to get here after arriving at Emden-26 painful days. But it arrived! We asked that the car not be prepped but shipped as is, still in its wrappings, to ParkHaus1 to be Xpel wrapped and Cquartz ceramic coated by their Detailmeister, Albert Garcia, who Ed Kohly said was the ONLY one to which I should entrust my car. Albert spent days prepping the car and did an amazing job. So now, my 914 has a stable mate, my wife has air conditioning, and I have, well, one of the best driving, funnest cars Porsche has ever produced. See you at the shows and fun runs! I’ll be in the 914 and Susie will be in the Spyder 

A multi year winner of the esteemed Betty Jo-Turner top award for editorial excellence among all PCA regional newsletters, plus 1st and 3rd place winner in other years in the class of largest PCA region’s newsletters, all of which as editor of the monthly print and electronic publication - Provinz Magazine. He serves as National SUV Registry Advocate of PCA for Canada and USA. Randy is an enthusiastic volunteer at both GCR and UCR, the two regions he is a member of. Randy is a PCA National Concours Judge and expert in classic Porsches and tractors. Randy seeks to serve on the GCR Board as President, to give back to the club, to the hobby that has brought him so much enjoyment, by connecting with fellow members, by organizing events, hosting breakfasts, and contributing to the Board of Directors as a regular attendee and participant. Randy is an electronics engineer, currently Head of Energy Marketing Solutions of Cooper Lighting, a division of Signify (former Philips), largest lighting company worldwide, actively engaged in creating national and international codes, standards and regulations that govern lighting, germicidal and horticultural industries. Also a patented inventor of mesh networked control systems for future IoT. Randy seeks your vote and makes himself available to you for help with everything Porsche. He owns several Porsches and loves to work on his Porsche tractor, cars and SUVs. Randy advises Porsche owners and lends a hand whenever called upon. He is a licensed vehicle appraiser in Ontario Canada.

Vice President - Peter Olliviere I have been a Porsche Club of America member since 2000, and for the most part have enjoyed the cars, the people, and the experience that involvement in this club brings. No matter what you enjoy about Porsches, the club provides a venue for it. All that’s asked of you in return is to occasionally volunteer to help facilitate the club’s events. When I enjoy something I get involved to the best of my ability. I have served several terms as a Board Member, and am now the current Vice President. With a couple of exceptions, I have attended every Board meeting over the last few years even when I was not A Board Member. I have taken the time to do so because I am interested in the direction the Club takes. Attending the meeting as a member allowed me to truly understand the Club, the people, and the mindset of the Board Members. It also allowed me to get involved and give direct input into and about decisions the Board made. Shortly after becoming a member I found that I had an interest in Concours and so became the Assistant Chair for the Concours Committee. I get great satisfaction from assisting members who have never been involved with the sport, to get involved. This was the driving idea for the club developing The Concours College Program, and I feel proud that I am part of its development. Through the years, I have been deeply involved with Concours, social and technical events. I have continued and expanded Concours College, created the Classic Water Cooled events, headed up Porsches by the Bay, and the Heritage Park car shows. I initiated the Conchy Joe’s Run and assisted with the Sanibel Island events. My efforts did not stop with car related events; I created and headed up the Gold Coast entry into the Winterfest Boat Parade, and I have worked to make The Gold Coast Region more active in the community and charitable work. These efforts have raised over $35,000 in donations to the

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, and includes the multiple hospital Porsche Toy Parade held last Christmas. I now hold the position of Vice President to the current Board and have tried my best to fulfill the requirements of that job. This year the Club is facing the challenge of Covirus-19, it’s a threat that goes far beyond just getting sick. The consequences can be far more serious. The Club’s response has been to take a “wait and see” attitude which I feel is the correct thing to do, but while we have paused most activities we should use this time to come up with new ideas and ways to enjoy this hobby. We are already seeing evidence of new ways of doing things using Social Medial and I think it’s important that the Club continues in that direction. I can only hope the membership views my time in the Director was well spent. My goal now is to continue in the position of Vice President in the Gold Coast Region, I believe that my desire for club growth, fairness and calm is shared by the vast majority of the membership. In the final analysis this is a Club made up of people that want to enjoy their Porsches and the camaradi that is created by common interest. Peter Olliviere

GCR 2020 Election BIOS Treasurer - Carolynn Ditrichs My name is Carolynn Ditrichs and I am running for the position of Treasurer, which I currently hold. I have been a member of Gold Coast region since 2012 when I bought my 2006 Boxster S. I knew I had bought a great car but what I didn’t realize was that I would become part of the Porsche family and meet so many great people. I have been an enthusiastic participant in all sorts of club activities including dine and drives, autocrosses, car collection tours, monthly breakfasts, Zonefests, the NC mountain tour, etc. In addition to the Treasurer responsibilities, I volunteer to help out whenever I can including at the 48 hours, with the autocross committee, helping with event registrations, and wherever there is a need. I would love to continue to serve as your Treasurer and to work with the board to guide the club in these very difficult times as we work to find new ways to interact in our socially distanced world. I have my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Accounting from the University of Florida and have been a CPA in Florida since 1986. I started my career at the public accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand where I spent my first 5 years. For the past 29 years, I have worked at NCCI in various accounting and auditing positions. I am a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was previously a member of the Institute of Management Accountants where I served as Treasurer for several years. In my spare time, I like to swim, play tennis, and participate in Gold Coast club events, especially the autocrosses, which have been a wonderful bonding activity for my son Damon and I for the past five years. My goal is to encourage new and current members to become active in the club, when our new normal allows this, so that they can experience the camaraderie and friendships that the club offers. I would appreciate your vote so that I can continue to give back to the club, which has given me so much over the years.

Director - Ed Blair I have happily been a Gold Coast Region / PCA member since acquiring my first Porsche, a 2014 Boxster, in early 2017. The reasons for purchasing a Porsche convertible were many, chief among them was to replace what was lost when I elected to stop group riding motorcycles and to also be a part of a club. I can say, without hesitation, I have met some outstanding people in Gold Coast Region / PCA and would like to become more involved with the club. To date I have assisted in various capacities when I either observed a need or help was requested. Some of you might remember me assisting with traffic curbside at Porsches by the Bay last year. In April of this year I lead the Broward group down to Schnebly Winery. Some of you may also recall that in March 2019 I assisted at the Tech tent during the 48 Hours of Sebring. Currently I am the chair for the Goldcoast trip to North Carolina. North Carolina should be an epic trip; one I hope can be repeated year to year. A position on the board will allow me to become more involved and further assist this club. On a personal note I am a 50-year resident of South Florida. I grew up in Hollywood and currently reside in Cooper City. My wife Dawn and I have two terrific sons, Brian who is currently entering medical school and Scott, a programmer living in California. Professionally most of my career was spent in the petroleum industry. Along the way I have owned a candy store in the Aventura mall, a private investigative firm and currently I own a building inspection firm and consider myself an investor. I have served as the Chairman of the Broward County Local Advocacy Council working for the rights and protections of people within state care and currently sit on the board of the Hollywood Lions Club. I am active in the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Dania Chamber of Commerce. I welcome the opportunity to serve this board.

It is all about bring members together to enjoy new & old friends, having a passion for Porsches, while having a lot of fun along the way! As a professional photographer & event planner, since 1999, Cynthia loves to capture a lot of social events and Porsches screaming down various racetracks such as: Homestead, Sebring, PBIR, VIR and Daytona. She found it exhilarating as a passenger, while her late husband and an instructor, Richard, drove “Porschetta,” during the DE events. She believes every Porsche should have a name—it is part of your family! Cynthia enjoys attending: 24 hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring, capturing the events to share in the Kassette. She volunteered several times at 24 Hours of Daytona in PCA Hospitality tent. Cynthia is avid motorsport fan and Porsche Nut. Director - Mike Koller her home. J She attended MDCC, UM & FIU, receiving: AA Business, AS in Accounting, BA in Business, and BS in Psychology with a minor in Marketing & Advertising. Director - Ian Gerada When it comes to cars, Ian has a passion for all things Porsche, and has been a member of the PCA Gold Coast Region since 2013 and enthusiastically held the following positions:

Director Alternate Director Social Media Chair Webmaster One of his favorite places to be is on the open road behind the wheel of his 911 Turbo. Of course, the only thing that tops that is to have a whole lot of Gold Coast Region members along for the drive. Being part of this club is exactly what our motto says “It’s Not Just the Cars It’s the People” During this Covid-19 pandemic it has been impossible to get together with fellow PCA members, Ian spearheaded online meetings for our region and has been running regular Gold Coast Region virtual after-hours get-togethers as well as having organized and run two virtual car shows that attracted members from regions as far as California and Puerto Rico, with well over 150 attendees over both events. These events gave our members the opportunity to safely get together, have fun, show off their cars, and catch up with each other during these difficult times. Ian lives in Coral Springs with his wife Jane, 3 children, and Hamish the family dog, devoting his time to family, ice hockey, and his love of cars. He enjoys attending many of the social events that the club has to offer and a regular participant at the monthly breakfast meetups, his favorite PCA trip by far is the yearly fall trip up to North Carolina.

Director - Mike Roblin

Since January 2020, Mike has enjoyed working with the Gold Coast board as an alternate Director. He’s been a PCA member for almost 30 years and loves living and working in south Florida. He’s active in the club and contributes his time, efforts and ideas to help make the club as active and enjoyable as possible. Of course, this year we’ve all had to adjust to a virtual existence, but he’s looking forward to whatever the new “normal” of next year brings. He started out in PCA by attending social events and autocrosses, as well as DEs when he had time. His first Porsche was an ’84 944, and he bought his first 911 in ’95 (and it’s still in his garage today). In the last few years, he’s been fortunate to be able to attend and experience all types of PCA events across Florida and the southeast. He’s been active in Gold Coast social and driving activities, as well as assisting with several concours and car shows; Porsches by the Bay at the Mandarin Oriental; the Sebring Club Race and other Zone 12 social and charity events. Mike would appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve as a Gold Coast Region Director, to help us maintain a fun club that encourages member participation and volunteerism, car education, enthusiasm and giving back to our communities as well.

Mike has been a PCA member since 2006 and has been a Gold Coast Region member since 2010 and is looking forward to this opportunity to be elected to serve on the Board of Directors. He enjoys all things Porsche and participates in many social events including Porsche’s and Pancakes, drive and dines with his wife, 4 year old daughter, and infant son, as well as Drivers Education events. Mike is a passionate and outgoing PCA National Instructor who really enjoys teaching his students how to safely enjoy their cars at speed on a real racetrack in a safe and controlled environment. His first Porsche was a 1968 912 which was a bit of a rusty project car that turned out to have more rust than anticipated. This was fixed up and sold to make way for his first 911, a 1979 911SC Targa which he still owns and enjoys tinkering with. Currently Mike is also the proud owner of a 2003 911 Turbo which does double duty for date nights and track events. Mike is lucky to have a family who also enjoy their Porsche’s with his parents and sister splitting time between a 2005 911 Turbo S, a 2000 Boxster S, and a 1987 944S. You could easily say that the passion for Porsche runs deep within the family, and many lifelong friendships have been forged throughout the years while spending time working on and under the cars doing everything from engine rebuilds to oil changes. Lastly and most importantly, Mike has a wonderful wife, a young daughter, and infant son who all enjoy participating and volunteering in our many wonderful PCA events. Be sure to say hello at the next Porsche’s and Pancakes, drive and dine, happy hour, or Driver’s Education event!

GCR 2020 Election BIOS As an active member of the Gold Coast Region PCA since 2014, many of you know Rick has volunteered at many of the clubs events with his Black Panamera. Rick has attended almost every GCR’s board of directors meeting in the past two years. He is a member of the club’s social committee, and hosts the highly successful and very popular Fort Lauderdale/Davie Happy Hour Social at CJ Blacks. In 2018, he put together the annual summer PCA Sanibel Run. Last year’s Sanibel Run had almost 200 members drive from West Broward to Fort Myers Beach. Rick’s itinerary included an overnight stay at a resort hotel, dinning at three waterfront restaurants, and a spectacular speedboat tour ride. The event drew members from all over the state making it a multi-chapter social as well. Through Rick’s perseverance, he procured numerous donated prizes for the charity dinner that raised a couple thousand dollars the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Professionally, after receiving a business degree for the University of Miami in 1981, Rick established a chain of Video Stores in Broward County serving the area for over 30 years. Gold Coast Re-

Gold Coast Election Notes It’s that time again! The 2020 GCR Election will be here soon!

All members and co-members in good standing (paid PCA membership) as of October 1, 2020 are eligible to vote in the upcoming election. Only those members and co-members who are valid PCA/GCR members on that date will be allowed to vote. Voting is done electronically so to be able to participate in this election you and your co-member, if applicable, will need to have valid email addresses on file with PCA. The email addresses are sent to our election vendor to send the ballots out to our members.

If you have been receiving emails regularly from Gold Coast Region then your email addresses are valid. If you haven’t received any emails in a long time then you need to update your email addresses. We ask that you, as Gold Coast Region members, log onto pca.org and make sure our account has current email addresses for both the primary member and the co-member. If, for some reason, a co-member does not have a valid email address, the primary member will receive two separate emails with individual codes/ballots, one for themselves and one for their co-member, so that each can vote. You can also request a paper ballot. To do so you must contact the GCR secretary and one will be sent to you. Paper ballots must be mailed to the secretary and must be postmarked no later than November 15, 2020 to be counted. If you have questions about the election process you can go to goldcoastregion.org and review our by-laws which can be found as a tab under the “About Us” section in the header at the top of the page. If you are having a problem with your email addresses on your PCA account you can contact Paul Raben in Membership for help.

Thank you and we look forward to everyone voting in the upcoming election!
