Letter from the SLC Board President

The lake is open for business!

Board activities

Kevin Beck has been working with several government agencies to complete the dam and secondary spillway project, as well with the Lake Quality and Environment Committee to ensure the integrity of Lake Sherwood.

Megan Clay has been busy putting together the itinerary for a great 4th of July weekend.

Jo Hunt has been working to upgrade the Sherwood website and has been working with Aline Barrett preparing a “Sherwood Directory” to be distributed to the membership. Jo has been keeping the board current on the budget, revenue and expenses, while Aline is keeping the board legal.

Kurt Bossert organized the Clean-Up Day in April and has secured another year of complete and affordable insurance for the Lake Club.

Mike Morse is finalizing the last details for Sherwood Ski Lessons to be offered this summer to the membership.

Kerry O’Neal, with assistance from Jeff Handley, has purchased and will implement installation of safety cameras at the beach and boat ramp.

Rob Seitz is working hard to make sure the boats, docks and shorelines at Sherwood are safe, up-todate and built according to the regulations.

Your board is ensuring that the Sherwood Lake Club is financially sound and ready for a fun season.

Lake Sherwood Manager/Lake Patrol

The Sherwood Club Manager and Lake Patrol are employed by the Sherwood Lake Club Board of Directors to make sure the club facilities (clubhouse, beach, boat ramp, etc.) are in good repair and all the facilities and lake are safe for you and your family.

The manager is not responsible for replying or taking care of Lake Policy issues or nuisances that you might have a complaint about. Those should come to me, and I will pass them on to the appropriate board member. The Lake Patrol is here for the safety of using the lake, but not as “police.” The Lake Patrol has been directed to politely ask the members to follow the rules and if the violations continue, to report to the Board of Directors. The rules are in place and will be enforced. If you disagree with a rule or regulation, bring your ideas to the board. We will listen to all reasonable suggestions.

We appreciate your help and cooperation. Have a wonderful safe and fun summer at Lake Sherwood!

Tom McBride board president
