Statement: Every student deserves excellence. I am passionate about education and want to help make the Peninsula School District one of the best in the state. As students return to school full time after remote and hybrid learning, the District must prioritize individual student needs, both academic and social well being.
Every family deserves an advocate. We need to retain local control over decisions that affect our students, such as our curriculum and in-person learning. I support programs that prepare all students for their chosen path after graduation. Remote learning revealed problems, including uneven internet access, cybersecurity concerns, and content control which must be addressed to keep students connected and safe online.
Every citizen deserves accountability. My professional background makes me uniquely qualified to safeguard taxpayer dollars, to ensure ongoing capital projects and facilities maintenance stays on schedule and within budget. I will respect the board member’s role to provide balanced and informed perspectives. I will push to improve District communication to be timely and transparent.
I was proud to be a major force in bringing four new elementary schools to our Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula communities. I would be honored for your vote and your continued trust.

Statement: I am running because I have two children in our school system, and I am concerned about their education. I spent 29 years serving my country and now want to give back to the community. I am excited to bring my perspective, fresh energy, and creativity to the school board using my extensive technical and military experience. My priorities:
As a dad heavily involved in the education of my two children, I understand the importance of parents being included and engaged in their child’s education. I will advocate for parents and their child(ren) in this critical role for a learning environment of high achievement and academic excellence in all areas. Kids need to be taught to think and not what to think and I will push for parent buy-in when sensitive subjects are taught allowing parents to opt-out rather than leave the school system.
I will take the covid/pandemic lessons learned to not only handle future situations but also to facilitate catch-up to get kids back on track.
If elected I will work for your kids’ best interest and bring a common-sense approach to decisions based on feedback from the community. Please vote David Weinberg.

Statement: Electing Rick Payne to the Bethel School Board would be a great asset to Bethel School Dist. and the families, children it serves.
As we come out of the covid-19 pandemic, Rick will make sure our children are kept safe in our school as they return to their regular schedule. Rick has some great ideas to recommend to the board like UV-Lighting on the central heating system threw out the dist. For all School buildings, offices, portables classrooms, and school buses. This will kill the spread of any virus that may come in contact with our children and staff and keep them safe now and into the future, Rick would like to see UV Lighting at all entrance threw out the school. these are some ideas Rick will fight for. These upgrades can be funded through Federal government Covid -19 money.
We can count on Rick from his experience to offer Bethel Employees, our children attending school, and the parents in our community to fight for what is right for our children.
Rick will put the Frontline Staff & Students first when it comes to keeping our school safe. Please vote Rick Payne for Bethel School Board Director #4
