Tecnargilla to be held in 2022 The next edition of Tecnargilla, the foremost global exhibition of ceramic technologies and solutions organised by Acimac and IEG - Italian Exhibition Group, will be held in September 2022. Tecnargilla will be held next year in the Rimini Exhibition Centre in keeping with a tradition that has cemented the show’s status as the leading international trade fair in the sector and the global hub of technological and aesthetic innovation. Given the current international situation, the only way of ensuring the size, effectiveness and level of international participation that are the show’s strengths and make it the world’s leading exhibition of ceramic technologies is to maintain its customary biennial format. For this reason, the decision has been taken not to alter the biennial frequency of the show, which is traditionally held in Rimini in even-numbered years. Moreover, this solution will enable exhibiting companies to maximise the opportunities offered by the event and to present new technologies and products to their global customers. As already announced, the new show will be the first to be held with the new formula. Tecna – How to make it will have an even wider range of exhibition offerings, including a special focus on technologies for digital printing, surface finishing and large slab handling combined with the latest innovations in manufacturing digitalisation. Tecna 2022 will be the most important international exhibition of machinery, equipment, raw materials, colours and additives for the production of surfaces, an event where exhibitors will unveil major technological innovations marking the resurgence of a sector that already this year is showing strong signs of recovery.
Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), listed on the Mercato Telematico Azionario organised and managed by Borsa Italiana S.p.A., has built up a domestic leadership position in the organisation of trade fairs and congresses over the years with facilities in Rimini and Vicenza. Its international activities, conducted partly through joint ventures with global or local organisers in the US, United Arab Emirates, China, Mexico and India, have established it as one of the leading European players in the sector. Acimac is the association of Italian manufacturers of plant, machinery, equipment and semi-finished products and suppliers of raw materials and services for the ceramic (tile, sanitaryware and tableware), heavy clay and refractory materials industries. Acimac represents the majority of Italian companies in the sector, from small to medium sized businesses through to the largest firms. Acimac is affiliated to the Italian employers’ federation Confindustria, making it an integral part of Italian industry’s system of representation. The sector is the world’s largest system of suppliers to the ceramic industry with a constantly growing export share that today stands at more than two thirds of total turnover thanks to the level of excellence and production of the most competitive plants in the world. Consisting of more than 100 companies with almost 7,000 employees, in 2019 the industry generated a turnover of 1.73 billion EUR with exports accounting for 73% of total volumes. ◆
Ceramitec conference 2021 postponed to autumn The ceramitec conference 2021 will be postponed to September 15-16, 2021. This was due to the current pandemic situation and the conditions for holding events, which have not yet been finalised. This made the planning situation for speakers, exhibitors and visitors very difficult, despite a confirmed and very extensive conference programme. The decision to postpone ceramitec conference raises hopes for a more relaxed and secure meeting of the international ceramics industry in Munich. Messe München and the ceramitec team look forward to welcoming you to the ceramitec conference in autumn 2021. ◆
