Grab your flashlights and join our park naturalists for a slow-paced full moon hike along the beautiful Neabsco Creek Boardwalk. You’ll enjoy learning about the flora and fauna of the area, as well as some fascinating facts about the Strawberry Moon. We’ll finish our hike with a yummy smore by the fire pit! FIREFLIES AND THE FULL MOON All Ages ■
Join us as we illuminate the night with fireflies, the full moon and a glowing summer fire pit. We begin the evening around the fire pit, roasting smores and learning about the full “Sturgeon” moon and the amazing bio-luminescent beetle, the firefly! Then, we head out along the boardwalk and adjoining trail to enjoy these summertime favorites! This will be a summer night to remember. Meet at the Neabsco Regional Park pavilion. Have you ever watched those folks at the beach or local pond that seem to be walking on water as they float by on paddleboards and wished that you could do it as well? Here is your opportunity to try! “SUP” is a great way to explore calm lakes, river, or saltwater. You will become familiar with equipment & safe operation of boards. We will teach proper stance for control & balance, learn basic paddle strokes, and turning techniques. Fee includes use of all equipment. Bring your own board and receive a $10 discount (must register over the phone to receive discount). Registration is taken online or over the phone. No day of registrations.
