ity of Laredo to celebrate 18 years helping Mexican citizens return home for holidays LAREDO, Texas, Dec. 9, 2015 / PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -For the past 17 years, the City of Laredo has hosted a Paisano Rest Stop to help Mexican citizens returning home from throughout the U.S. have a smoother experience as they head home for the holidays. This unique bi-national project is offered only in Laredo, Texas. The City of Laredo Convention & Visitors Bureau works with the Mexican Consulate General to set-up the rest stop; however, there are many city, state and federal departments and agencies from both sides of the border who come together to help the paisanos. The Paisano Rest Stop will be at IH-35 southbound, just off Mile Marker 13,
beginning Friday, December 18, at 12 noon and closing at 12 noon on Sunday, December 20, 2015. For 48 continuous hours, the rest stop has individuals who help review documents necessary for travelers, as well as any goods or vehicles they may be taking into Mexico. Information on bridge wait times, directions, simple mechanic help, refreshments, restroom facilities and simply, an opportunity to rest and stretch their legs is free and offered at the site. a Ciudad de Laredo celebrará 18 años ayudando a los ciudadanos mexicanos a volver a casa para los días festivos LAREDO, Texas, 9 de diciembre de 2015 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- Desde hace 17 años, la Ciudad de Laredo organiza un Modulo Paisano (Área de Descanso Paisano) para ayudar a los ciudadanos mexicanos que regresan al país de todas partes de Estados Unidos a tener una experiencia más placentera al dirigirse a sus hogares para los días festivos. Este proyecto binacional es único y solamente se ofrece en Laredo, Texas. La Oficina de Convenciones y Visitantes de la Ciudad de Laredo colabora con el Consulado General de México para montar el área de descanso; pero también hay muchos
departamentos y agencias municipales, estatales y federales de ambos lados de la frontera que se unen para ayudar a los paisanos. El Modulo Paisano estará en la carretera IH-35 en dirección hacia el sur, cerca del marcador de la milla 13, a partir del viernes 18 de diciembre a las 12:00 del mediodía hasta las 12:00 del mediodía el domingo 20 de diciembre de 2015. Durante 48 horas continuas, el área de descanso será atendida por individuos que ayudarán a revisar los documentos que los viajeros necesitan, así como cualquier producto o vehículo que puedan estar llevando a México. En el lugar se ofrecerá de forma gratuita información sobre el tiempo de espera para cruzar el puente, direcciones y asistencia con problemas mecánicos sencillos, "snacks", baños,
