Millones de familias en nuestra nación y miles en Missouri ya no vivirán con miedo de perder a un ser querido a las deportaciones. La acción ejecutiva del Presidente no sólo mantendrá unidas a las familias, también ejecutará nuestras leyes migratorias de manera que protejan nuestra seguridad nacional y seguridad pública. Fortalecerá nuestra economía al crear nuevos empleos y permitir que estas familias contribuyan plenamente al único país al que llaman su hogar. “El pueblo estadounidense ha esperado
a que se arregle el roto sistema migratorio del país. El Senado aprobó una reforma migratoria con apoyo bipartidista hace más de un año que hubiera arreglado permanentemente nuestro roto sistema migratorio. La Cámara de Representantes ha permitido que las familias sufran mientras dedican su tiempo a votar para derrocar la acción diferida y deportar a los DREAMERs. No le han dado otra opción al Presidente más que actuar. “La acción ejecutiva del Presidente es un buen primer paso; sin embargo, sólo es una solución temporal. Esperemos que el Presidente Obama haga todo lo que pueda dentro de su legítima autoridad pero nada puede remplazar una reforma migratoria aprobada por

The President’s executive action will not only keep families together, it will enforce our immigration laws in a way that protects our national security and public safety. It will strengthen our economy by creating new jobs and allowing these families
to fully contribute to the only country they call home. “The American people have waited for us to fix our country’s broken immigration system. The Senate passed a strong bipartisan comprehensive immigration bill over a year ago that would have permanently fixed our broken immigration system. Sadly, House Republicans have demonstrated that they are more interested in playing partisan politics than doing what is right for our country. They ask for more time but we have given them plenty of time, 511 days to be exact. The House let millions of families languish while passing measures to revoke Deferred Action and deport DREAMers, leaving the President no option but to take matters into his own hands.
