Creador de estilos Me gusta rodearme de situaciones y personas que me inspiren a crear.
Desde niño tuve la inquietud y la pasión por la moda, por el diseño”, platica Benito Santos, quien antes de ser un famoso diseñador de modas, buscó su vocación en otras áreas. “Aunque estudié la carrera de Medicina, nunca perdí la ilusión de vestir a la mujer, de hacer con mis propuestas que su belleza resaltara y, de alguna manera, ser parte de sus eventos memorables”. Jalisciense de nacimiento, en Tepehuaje de Morelos, Santos tuvo una gran influencia en casa que definió su camino profesional: su abuela, “a quien siempre admiré y me motivó a ser quien soy. Vivir mi infancia cerca de ella me nutrió, me llenó de ilusión por hacer lo que hago. Por eso, el año pasado le dediqué la colección llamada Flor de Teresa”, recuerda. Santos hizo su debut como diseñador de modas en 2008 y, desde entonces, cosecha éxitos en todo el mundo. Creó el vestido rojo

que lució Ximena Navarrete cuando fue Miss Universo 2010, obtuvo el Premio Nacional de la Moda 2014, ha participado en los Fashion Week de Nueva York, Los Angeles y Vancouver, y sus vestidos han estado en el Festival de Cine de Cannes y en los premios Oscar. Su proceso creativo es una vivencia diaria porque “me fijo en los detalles cotidianos y de ellos hago algo extraordinario. Me gusta admirar los colores, las texturas, los estilos y, conforme transcurre el día y tengo contacto con mi equipo de trabajo y con mis clientes, las ideas empiezan a concretarse, a aterrizar”, comparte. Con respecto a México, Santos opina que “tenemos la mejor comida, los mejores colores, la mejor gente. Somos una excelente opción para aprender de nuestra cultura, tradiciones y costumbres, las cuales me han inspirado a diseñar. Somos un pueblo muy fuerte y tenemos mucho que aportar al mundo. ¡México somos todos!”.

“Since I was a child I had the curiosity and the passion for fashion and design”, chats Benito Santos, who before becoming a famous fashion designer, searched for his calling in other fields. “Although I studied a major in Medicine, I never lost the illusion of dressing women, making my work highlight their beauty, and in some way be part of their memorable events”. Native to Jalisco, born in Tepehuaje de Morelos, Santos had a great influence at home, which defined his professional path: his grandmother, “whom I have always admired and who has motivated me to become who I am. Living my childhood close to her nourished me, filled me with the illusion of doing what I do. For this reason, I dedicated her the collection named Flor de Teresa last year”, he recalls. Santos made his debut as a fashion designer in 2008, and since then has accumulated success around the world. He created the red
dress that Ximena Navarrete wore when she became Miss Universe 2010, obtained the National Prize of Fashion 2014, has participated in New York, Los Angeles and Vancouver Fashion Weeks, and his dresses have been worn at Cannes’ Film Festival and at the Oscars Awards. His creative process is a daily living experience since “I pay attention to every day details that I change into something extraordinary. I like to admire colors, textures, styles, and depending on how the day goes by and I have contact with my work team and my clients, ideas start to materialize, to land”, he shares. Regarding Mexico, Santos believes that “we have the best food, the best colors, and the best people. We are an excellent option to learn from our culture, traditions and customs, which have inspired me to design. We are a strong people and have a lot to give to the world. Mexico is all of us!”

We start every year with resolutions which are very demanding and unreal. Therefore, at the end of the year we don’t want to see them, since we achieved almost none of them.
Los cambios reales requieren tiempo Cada año iniciamos con propósitos, que son muy exigentes e irreales. Por lo tanto, al final del año no queremos verlos, pues no logramos casi ninguno. Es importante ser conscientes que necesitamos prepararnos para el cambio; vamos a necesitar mucho tiempo para que sea una transformación real, y entender que nos debemos paciencia, dedicación, esfuerzo y disciplina. ¿De qué sirve lograr algo que es temporal, que va a durar un cortito tiempo y volveremos a los hábitos de siempre? Esto aplica para todas las áreas de nuestra vida: desde aprender a ahorrar, ser más organizada, bajar de peso, conseguir trabajo o tener novio. Si hablamos de ahorrar, debemos de fijar una meta y planear la estrategia de cómo lograrlo. Si queremos ser más organizada, debemos comenzar con una agenda, anotar todo y practicar la puntualidad. Bajar de peso es un propósito que casi todos nos ponemos, pero debemos hacer ejercicio diario hasta crear un nuevo hábito y eliminar malas costumbres como comer en la calle y, en vez de eso, llevar comida casera al trabajo. Si hablamos de un trabajo o un novio, debemos prepararnos física y emocionalmente en el camino del crecimiento personal y profesional para obtener lo que buscamos. It is important to keep in mind that we need to get prepared for the change; we are going to need a lot of time to make a real transformation, and understand that we owe ourselves patience, dedication, effort and discipline. What is the point of achieving something temporary, that is going to last a short time and then return to our usual habits? This applies to all the areas of our life: from learning how to save, being more organized, lose weight, find a job or have a boyfriend. If we are talking about saving, we have to set a goal and plan a strategy to achieve it. If we want to be more organized, we need to start with an appointment book, write everything down, and practice punctuality. Losing weight is a resolution we almost all have , but we must do exercise daily until creating a habit, and eliminate bad habits such as eating out, and instead of that, take homemade food to work. If we are talking about a job or a boyfriend, we have to get prepared physically and emotionally on the path to personal and professional growth to obtain what we are looking for. Cuando pensamos en ecoturismo, la mayoría piensa en un lugar austero, sin comodidades, pero el ecoturismo significa tener el privilegio de viajar respetando la sostenibilidad, la preservación y apreciar la naturaleza sin afectarla. Puede ser tu viaje más interesante, en especial para escapadas románticas. ¿A quién no le gusta una noche bajo las estrellas o una cabaña en el bosque? Parecen ideas surrealistas, pero existen.
