De fábrica a museo
Cuando llegues a Tlayacapan lo primero que vas a sentir es el viento fresco, pues es un Pueblo Mágico que está en la zona de los Altos de Morelos, dentro del Área Natural Protegida Corredor Biológico Chichinautzin; es parte de La Ruta de los Conventos, está a 47 kilómetros de Cuernavaca y a 116 de CDMX, así que llegar es súper rápido. Tlayacapan es una palabra náhuatl que significa “La nariz de la tierra” y un rasgo distintivo que te va a fascinar son sus más de 20 capillas del siglo XVI, cada una tiene un estilo arquitectónico diferente. Las cuatro principales forman una cruz y el centro de esta es el Ex Convento Agustino de San Juan Bautista, que es uno de los once conventos de Morelos declarado Patrimonio Cultural por la UNESCO y su atrio es unos de los más grandes de América Latina. Claro que eso no es lo único que vas a encontrar, pues Tlayacapan desde siempre ha sido un lugar muy cultural. ¿Sabías que de allí es la agrupación de viento más antigua de México? La Banda Brígido Santamaría -llamada así por su fundadores conocida en todo el mundo, fue formada en 1870, durante la Revolución acompañó a Emiliano Zapata y la integran más de 40 músicos. Con el tiempo evolucionó y hoy ya tiene mujeres, algo que antes no sucedía. Algo que también vas a conocer son los Chinelos: unos enigmáticos personajes que surgieron en la época colonial y son un símbolo importantísimo de la identidad morelense; su ropa es una túnica blanca, un enorme sombrero en forma de cono y máscaras. De seguro los conoces en fotos, pero allí vas a verlos bailar El brinco del Chinelo, que es la danza típica del lugar, y lo hacen al son de la banda de viento. Y ve con tus sentidos abiertos para vivir las interesantes experiencias que tiene Tlayacapan.
El Centro Cultural La Cerería es una construcción del siglo XVI, fue una importante fábrica de velas porque Tlayacapan era paso obligado hacia Tenochtitlán y la gente iba a abastecerse allí de este producto. El edificio fue restaurado y hoy hace exposiciones de arte. ¡Vale la pena conocerlo!

La Cerería Cultural Center is a XVI century building that was an important candle factory, as Tlayacapan was a must stop on the way to Tenochtitlán, and people used to stock up on this product there. The building was recovered and nowadays holds art exhibitions. It is worth knowing it!

Nature, convents and music Get to know this experience
When arriving in Tlayacapan, the first thing you are going to feel is the cool air, since it is a Magical Town located in the Altos de Morelos area, within Chihinautzin’s Biological Corridor Protected Natural Area; it is part of the Convents Route, 47 kilometers from Cuernavaca and 116 from Mexico City, so getting there is super-fast. Tlayacapan is a náhuatl word meaning “the nose of the earth”, and a distinctive feature that is going to fascinate you is the more than 20 XVI century chapels it possesses, each one of them having a different architectural style. The four main ones form a cross, at the center of which is the Agustino of San Juan Bautista Exconvent, that is one of the eleven convents in Morelos declared Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO, and its atrium is one of the largest in Latin America.

Obviously, this is not the only thing you will find, since Tlayacapn has always been a very cultural place. Did you know that the oldest wind band in Mexico is from there? The Brígido Santamaría Band –named after its founder- is wellknown around the world, was founded in 1870 during the Revolution, following Emiliano Zapata, and is made of more than 40 musicians. It has evolved over time, now including women, something that couldn’t happen before. Something else you will also get know are the Chinelos: enigmatic characters who emerged during the colonial period and are a very important symbol of Morelos’ identity; they wear a white tunic, a huge coned hat with masks. You have certainly seen them in pictures, but over there you will see them dance El brinco del Chinelo, the typical local dance accompanied by the sound of the wind band. Go with your senses wide open to live the interesting experiences that Tlayacapan holds for you.

La cultura también es parte de Mazatlán, es un asunto que sus habitantes han tomado en serio desde siempre: las calles del centro conservan su arquitectura original en varios estilos europeos, como la Catedral y el Teatro Ángela Peralta (por cierto, dentro del teatro hay un museo que narra la historia del edificio), también puedes visitar el Museo Arqueológico de Mazatlán, el Acuario de Mazatlán, el Edificio del Banco de Londres y México o Casa Haas. Está en el Centro Internacional de Convenciones, tiene 105 piezas de concreto y acero que forman una unidad de 25 metros de alto por 69 de largo, su creación tardó año y medio, une la ingeniería con el arte y está en los Record Guinness desde 2009. And you can’t miss seeing the mural Historic, Economic and Touristic Development of the Sea of Cortez, by Ernesto Ríos Rocha. It is inside the International Convention Center, made of 105 pieces of concrete and steel that form a 25 meters high and 69 meters long piece. Its creation took one and a half year, unifying engineering and the arts, and is in the Guinness Book of Records since 2009.

Esta temporada haz un viaje diferente y aléjate de la rutina diaria al hospedarte con tu familia en Labor de Rivera: es una Hacienda antigua que tiene tantas actividades de entretenimiento que no vas a querer salir de allí. Un refugio tropical
A tropical refuge Because of its beauty and peacefulness, Yelapa gives the impression of being a faraway paradise, although it is actually 40 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta, and to get there you need to take a boat on Playa de Los Muertos, or drive from Mismaloya to Boca de Tomatlán, and from there get on a water taxi (this modality includes stops at Majahuitas, Quimixto and Ánimas beaches). Yelapa is protected by the rainforest and the mountains, so a vacation there is to relax completely. For adventures buffs, there are spots for scuba diving,
and you can’t miss the rainforest excursions, discover the hills and take panoramic pictures. It is recommended to go to the waterfalls and to Tuito River! If your idea of a trip is more relaxed, you can walk around the town, where they sell handcraft pieces, and watch the spectacular sunsets. An unmissable experience is to eat in the rustic restaurants, under comfortable palm roofs, and try la Raicilla, a strong handmade local liquor made from agave, and accompany it with desserts prepared by women from the town.

Mi madre me inculcó que siempre debo estar haciendo algo, así que estudié inglés, francés, alemán y ballet clásico”, platica, y gracias a su inquietud viajó por primera vez a los 11 años, “en autobús hasta Canadá, con chicas de 15 años; después estuve de intercambio en Estados Unidos y vi que podía hacer cosas por mí misma”. Un hecho que la llevó a vivir con total enfoque fue “cuando mi hermano mayor falleció. Entendí que la vida es hoy, hacia adelante. ¡Por eso hago todo con amor!”, platica. A esto se suma su enorme curiosidad De conversación fluida, y sed de crecimiento. “Quería energía vibrante y estudiar Diplomacia, pero sólo personalidad intensa, había en la Ciudad de México, Araceli Ramos Rosaldo, así que estudié Turismo; hice Directora de Promoción una maestría en idiomas en y Relaciones Públicas de Alemania, otra en Alta DirecCasa Cuervo, tiene gran ción en el TEC de Monterrey; empuje para promover a trabajé en hotelería…”, presidió México. la Asociación de Profesionales en Relaciones Públicas de Occidente y es miembro fundador de la Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila, entre una larga lista de cargos. Araceli Ramos hizo una aportación única al turismo: “Me invitaron a trabajar hace 23 años a Tequila Cuervo. ¿Qué mejor oportunidad que hablar de la magia que es México? Presenté mi proyecto a don Juan Beckmann, Presidente de la empresa, insistiéndole que podíamos hacer del lugar un destino turístico y en 2003 abrió Mundo Cuervo -¡yo digo que es mi “Cuervo World”!-, convirtiéndose en uno de los productos turísticos más exitosos del país”, afirma con orgullo. Y también imparte conferencias “porque me gusta alentar a más personas a lograr cosas, hacer saber que somos un país valiente, fuerte y pasional. Cuando transmito esto en el extranjero, me dicen: ‘Esto es lo que quería conocer de la gente mexicana’ ”.

With a free-flowing speech, vibrant energy and intense personality, Araceli Ramos Rosaldo, Director of Promotion and Public Relations at Casa Cuervo, has a driving force to promote Mexico.
The Word that describes me is passion!
“I wish the days were of 36 hours. My mother instilled in me that I should always be doing something, so I studied English, French, German and classic ballet” she says, and thanks to her curiosity, she travelled for the first time when she was 11 years old, “by bus to Canada, with 15 year-old girls; after that, I was on an exchange program in the United States, and realized that I could do things on my own”. An event which made her live fully focused is “when my older brother passed away. I understood that life was today and forward. That’s why I do everything with love!” she says. To this need to be added her huge curiosity and thirst for growth. “I wanted to study Diplomacy, but it was only available in Mexico City, so I studied Tourism; I took a Master’s in Foreign Languages in Germany, another one in Executive Management at Tec de Monterrey; I worked in hotels…”, headed the Western Association of Public Relations
Professionals and is a founding member of the Mexican Academy of TequilaTasters, on a long list of positions. Araceli Ramos made a unique contribution to tourism: “I was invited to work at Tequila Cuervo 23 years ago. What better opportunity to talk about how magical is Mexico? I presented my project to don Juan Beckmann, the company’s President, insisting on the fact that we could make the place a touristic destination, and in 2003 Mundo Cuervo was opened –I say that it’s my “Cuervo World”!-, becoming one of the country’s most successful touristic products”, she proudly declares. And she also gives conferences “because I like to encourage more people to achieve things, make others know that we are a brave, strong and passionate country. When I transmit this abroad, they tell me: “this is what I wanted to know about Mexican people”.

Nosotros queriendo saber qué pasa con su vida y dando nuestra opinión que a ellos en realidad no les importa; los criticamos, escribimos en sus redes sociales pensando que no sienten, que son “famosos” sin corazón ni emociones, sin una historia ni inseguridades, sin traumas... creemos que son súper felices y tienen “todo”: son guapos, ricos, con un trabajo increíble, una casa hermosa, un marido con cuadritos y todas las bolsas Chanel que hemos soñado. Pues tengo una noticia: la mayoría de quienes son el centro de los medios de comunicación, paparazzis o que tienen un reality show viven con excesiva presión, fingen la mayor parte del tiempo, buscan obtener las menos críticas posibles y sobreviven porque es muy difícil salir de ahí. La fama es un arma súper filosa y quien sabe manejarla merece mi respeto y admiración; hoy entiendo más la actitud de Bill Gates (que no sale en periódicos o revistas seguido) y su simple forma de vestir, no es una “persona pública”; así como a varios millonarios, empresarios o artistas les aplaudo su “anonimato”, pues sobreviven de un talento que llevaron a un nivel de magnitud. Tengo 200 mil seguidores en mis redes sociales, me gusta compartir de mi vida, amo lo que hago, no soy nada “famosa”, ni “millonaria”, ni me toman fotos cuando salgo a la calle. Us, trying to find out what is happening in their lives, we write on social media thinking they don’t feel, that they are “celebrities” without a heart nor emotions, without a story nor insecurities… we believe they are super happy and “have it all”: handsome, rich, with an amazing job, a beautiful house, a six pack husband, and all the Chanel handbags we have dreamed of. Well I have some news: most of whom are at the center of the Medias, paparazzi or who are on a reality show, live with excessive pressure, fake most of the time, try to get as little criticism as possible, and survive because it is very hard to stay out of it. Fame is a super sharp weapon, and who knows how to handle it deserves my respect and admiration; now I understand better Bill Gates’ attitude and his simple way of dressing, he is not a “public person”; along with several millionaires, entrepreneurs or artists, I applaud his “anonymity”, as they survive the talent that took them to a magnitude level. I have 200 thousand followers on my social medias, I like to share my life, I love what I do, I am not “famous” at all, nor “a millionaire”, nor taken pictures of when I am on the street. El evento fue realizado en La Biblioteca, la cena estuvo a cargo de Il Duomo y los invitados conocieron detalles de la alta calidad que tiene Glen Grant en las variantes 10, 12 y 18 años; por ejemplo, el agua es de manantiales escoceses, es muy cuidado su proceso de destilación, y la selección de barricas de Bourbon y Sherry asegura el color, y sabor fresco y afrutado de la bebida.

The essence of Glen Grant Robin Coupar, Glen Grant’s global ambassador and a member of the Campari Group since 2008, visited Guadalajara, along with Francisco Peregrina, the ambassador of the same Brand in Mexico, to provide an exclusive tasting, in which he explained the whisky’s production process, aromas and color.
The event took place at La Biblioteca, the dinner was taken care of by Il Duomo, and the guests got to know some details about Glen Grant’s high quality in its 10, 12 and 18 year editions; for example the fact that the water comes from Scottish natural springs, that the distillation process is looked after very carefully, and that the Bourbon and Sherry barrel selection gives its color and fresh and fruity taste to the drink.
