¿Qué tiene de interesante la capital de San Luis Potosí? Si preguntas o buscas en Internet, te das cuenta de que muchas personas que ya la visitaron dicen que es una ‘ciudad de arquitectura señorial, con un valioso Centro Histórico’, y a lo mejor eso no te dice nada. Pero al estar ahí descubres que es cierto y que hay mucho más por conocer, pues detrás de sus fachadas majestuosas hay hoteles, museos, boutiques y restaurantes sensacionales. Para que disfrutes del lugar, la idea es recorrerlo paso a paso, pues caminando ves cada uno de sus detalles y encuentras sitios muy interesantes, como la Calzada de Guadalupe, la avenida peatonal más larga de América Latina; o la Caja del Agua, un monumento representativo de la ciudad. La ciudad es tan bonita y tiene una estética tan armoniosa porque formaba parte del Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, también conocido como Camino de la Plata, una ruta con tanto valor histórico, que en 2010 quedó inscrita en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial y Cultural por la UNESCO. Era una vía muy transitada para transportar plata desde las minas de Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí y Guanajuato hacia el norte, durante los siglos XVI al XIX.

Museo surrealista No podía faltar un espacio dedicado al arte moderno, por lo que el Centro de las Artes de San Luis Potosí ‘Centenario’ alberga el Museo Leonora Carrington, dedicado a la artista inglesa que hizo de México su casa durante gran parte de su vida y se expresó a través de seres fantásticos inspirados en la mitología celta, la cábala y la literatura. A space dedicated to modern art could not be missed, the Center for the Arts of San Luis Potosi ‘Centenario’ houses the Leonora Carrington Museum, dedicated to the English artist that made Mexico her home for a great part of her life and expressed herself through fantastic beings inspired by Celtic mythology, Kabbalah and literature.
Live it out step by step What does the capital of San Luis Potosi have that’s interesting? If you ask or search online, you’ll notice that many people that have visited say that it’s a ‘city of dignified architecture, with a valuable Historic Downtown’ and that not might tell you anything, but being there, you’ll discover that it’s true and that there’s much more to get to know. Behind it’s majestic facades; there are hotels, museums, boutiques and sensational restaurants. For you to enjoy the place, the idea is to go through it step by step, since by walking, you see each and every detail and find interesting places like the Calzada de Guadalupe, which is the longest pedestrian avenue in Latin America, or the Caja del Agua, which is a representative monument of the city. The city is so pretty and has an aesthetic that is so harmonious because it formed part of the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro also known as Camino de la Plata, a route that has so much historic value that in 2010 was inscribed on the World and Cultural Heritage List by Unesco. bailarín mexicano A sus 28 años de edad, Isaac Hernández alcanzó la fama internacional como bailarín de ballet clásico y sigue cosechando los frutos de su esfuerzo y disciplina, lo que representa una gran responsabilidad con él mismo y con México, pues “puedo aprovechar esta oportunidad y abogar a favor de las artes, que son una gran herramienta de movilidad social y económica”, comenta. Nacido en Guadalajara, Jalisco, el talentoso joven creció en una familia formada por sus padres y diez hermanos. Él no fue a una escuela formal para recibir educación en el ámbito artístico, pero la visión de su papá, Héctor Hernández, fue clave para encaminarlo desde niño a sacar lo mejor de sus capacidades, que le llevarían a la excelencia. Así, su triunfo más reciente es haber ganado el Prix Benois de la Danse 2018, en la categoría de Mejor Bailarín. Éste es el máximo reconocimiento al que aspira un artista en el mundo de la danza, es la primera vez que lo recibe un mexicano y lo obtuvo por la interpretación de Don Quijote, del coreógrafo ruso Mikhail Baryshnikov, y por la producción La Sylphide, de Frank Anderson. Isaac Hernández vive en Londres, Inglaterra, donde es solista del English National Ballet. Para él, un día “empieza siempre con un buen café; luego tomo clase de ballet, seis días a la semana, hasta las 18:30 horas. Después, trabajo en mis proyectos de México y a veces opto por ir al teatro; es mi rutina casi todo el tiempo”, comparte, aunque a futuro se visualiza trabajando en México, “pues me gustaría dedicar más tiempo para influenciar y promover la vida cultural del país”.

Cada detalle rinde homenaje al destilado; por ejemplo, el tapón de Gran Patrón Piedra recrea a una tahona, que al rodarla reproduce el mecanismo de la misma, y la botella simula una hoja de agave.
Para festejar el Día Internacional de Tequila, la marca Patrón festejó en Jalisco por ser la tierra del icónico destilado. En la Cineteca del FICG, fue impartida una cata por Ismael Solís Ponce, Gerente de Producción de Patrón, donde los invitados apreciaron la calidad de la línea Gran Patrón, con los tequilas Platinum, Burdeos y Piedra, conociendo las notas en sus sabores y olores, lo que da variedad para gustos muy variados. Después, dio una fiesta donde María José Gutiérrez realizó un boceto artístico en vivo y la gente disfrutó cocteles basados en la bebida estrella de la celebración: Tequila Patrón. To celebrate the International Day of Tequila, the brand Patron celebrated in Jalisco for being the iconic land of the spirit. At the FICG Cineteca, there was a pairing conducted by Ismael Solis Ponce, Patron’s Production Manager, where the guests appreciated the quality of the Gran Patron line with the Platinum, Burdeos and Piedra tequilas savoring the notes of its’ flavors and aromas, which gives a variety to many tastes. Then, threw a party where Maria Jose Gutierrez gave a live artistic sketch and people enjoyed the cocktails prepared with the celebrated star drink: Patron Tequila.

Every detail renders tribute to the spirit: for example, the Gran Patron Piedra tequila bottle cap recreates a mill, which when rolled, reproduces the mechanism of it, and the bottle simulates an agave leaf.

Un enorme Anhelo La entrada del hotel Hyatt Regency Andares, sobre el Paseo Andares, se ve mejor que nunca gracias a Anhelo, unas alas monumentales de metal, del artista cubano Rafael San Juan. La obra es todo un suceso, porque San Juan busca que el material de sus obras sea ecológico, además crea arte con la intención de remover sentimientos e invitar a la reflexión y, en este caso, hace una importante aportación estética al panorama urbano.
El artista estudió en la Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes San Alejandro, en La Habana, Cuba; ha expuesto en México, Cuba Venezuela España y Estados Unidos.

A huge longing The entrance to the Hyatt Regency Andares hotel on Paseo Andares looks better than ever thanks to Anhelo, a pair of monumental metal wings by the Cuban artist Rafael San Juan. The masterpiece is an entire event, because San Juan looks for the material of his masterpieces to be ecological, plus he creates art with the intention of removing feelings and inviting reflection and, in this case, makes an important aesthetic contribution to the urban landscape.

Muchos de nosotros nos hemos preguntado: ‘¿Por qué no existe una marca de autos mexicana?’ La respuesta es que sí hay una en la actualidad y, aunque a lo largo de la historia han existido algunas como Mastretta -la famosa marca del deportivo “auto tortilla” según el programa británico Top Gear- hoy no existe debido a problemas financieros. Sin embargo, hay una marca que también fabrica un deportivo: VUHL, que produce el VUHL 05, un auto de pista biplaza con carrocería de fibra de carbono y motor de cuatro cilindros turbocargado Ecoboost. Sí, es un motor de origen Ford, con 240 caballos de potencia y un bajísimo peso de 695 kilos en seco; gracias a esto, alcanza los 100km/h en 3.7 segundos. El modelo ha tenido gran aceptación internacional, tanto que forma parte de uno de los simuladores más prestigiados del mundo: el Forza Motorsport. Sin duda, podemos sentirnos orgullosos de que sí existe una marca de autos mexicana que produce uno de los mejores deportivos del planeta.

No doubt that we can feel proud of the fact that a Mexican car brand exists, producing one of the best sports car on the planet.
